I left Vancouver 10 years ago. The writing was already on the wall. We had a "conservative" prime minister who did not push back on any of the ground the liberals had taken. Then Trudeau came a long and took more ground. Canada is now a police state with a powerful central dictator.

@@jeremyscott6641 Azores. At the time iy was a wonderful move. Miles of ocean on either side as a buffer. Now with the influence of the EU, not so much. But its a small community, so it still retains some of the advantages.
Problem today is where can you go? They've infiltrated every corner of the planet. I'm looking again to other places just in case, but no easy choices. Good luck, let me know if you find a decent destination.

It was amazing to me seeing how many people in America had that viewpoint over the past 2 years. It seems like most of the public was under the impression of "well if we just accept this one thing, if we all just wear masks, then it'll end and we'll be able to go back to normal" or "they say once we get to 70% vaccination then we will have herd immunity and we can go back to normal".
And every time whatever mile marker the authorities were pushing for was met, they set the mile marker further. 70%, 80%, 90%, literally all citizens.
And people just didn't get that the more they complied, the further they would be pushed.

I wonder if there's some kind of mass hypnosis being applied. Almost all of my friends, family and colleagues think that everything is wonderful in the UK and things will go on as they once did. It seems to be the same throughout the nations of the Western world though.

I believe that training comes from Canada traditionally maintaining close ties to Europe(and India via Britain). Where the USA and United States of Mexico] strongly rejected Europe during their formation.
If you look very close at the people of Europe, even in the modern day, their perceptions come from a history based in aristocracy and so they view rights only as permissions granted by government. Meanwhile in the USA rights are seen as inherent rights [ aka god given rights] existing independent of the governments that may or may not protect those rights.
Put another way, in Europe the popular attitude is that the government can legitimately take away rights by fiat as long as the legal system was followed; while people in the USA would tend to see the same actions as the government and legal system its self as illegitimately violating the inherent rights of people.
Nothing will change in Canadian politics until the West's vote actually counts. There's no use in the West even voting. PM is elected before our polls close. How's that for democracy?

I live in downtown Winnipeg and since things have opened up the amount crime is up by over 300 percent. Nothing is being done by the police cause they don’t care to involve themselves with the native gangs and their is no budget. We need a leader who will run the country properly and deal with these crimes rather then saying unvaccinated ppl and truckers are worse then the murders

I spent a few months there finding a nice little place to live. So five years from now I will be living and traveling in south east Asia,and I might even be dead. I’m a quadruple bypass survivor.

You can ride in the back of pickup trucks, like we used to be able to do back in the 1950’s in Canada. The police won’t give you a hard time riding a motorbike without a licence if it is 125cc or smaller. I can rent a nice clean simple apartment with a small kitchen and nice big bathroom and shower for $125 U.S. per month. Eat my fill during the day for less than $10. Travel from one side of the city to the other with tuk tuk taxi for $1.25. Hire a driver all day for $25.00.
Live happy for about $1000 a month. And..NEVER SHOVEL SNOW OR HAVE HIGH OUTRAGEOUS HEATING BILLS. NO DULL GREY OVERCAST FREEZING WINTER DAYS WITH LIFELESS LOOKING TREES AND BUSHES WITH NO LEAVES AND TWO FEET OF SNOW AND ICE. AND NO DICTATOR WANNABE JUSTIN TRUDEAU AND HIS SIDEKICK CHRYSTIA FREELAND. TRUDEAU AND FREELAND GOOD COMRADES OF GEORGE SOROS AND KLAUS SCHWAB.
And…I drop weight without even thinking about it. Lose about 25lbs….good for my health. Back in Canada I put the weight back on.
In the two months I lived there, and the four months I lived in northern Thailand, I felt more free than I do in Canada. Those tropical countries are wonderful.

@@earthsurgery1237 Thank you. My cardiologist has given me a clean bill to fly anywhere I want. Plus….both trips to Southeast Asia I lost about 25lbs without even thinking about dieting. My chubby stomach disappeared. Had to punch four more holes in my belt. I was about to punch a fifth hole in my belt just before I flew back to Canada. I actually felt like I had more energy, and felt younger. Good for my health. I did not eat western food. They serve smaller portions on smaller plates. Not so much meat, more fresh fruit and vegetables. Lots of water. The wonderful tropical heat. Took me only two to three weeks to acclimate to the heat and then I was fine. (It helps to acclimate to tropical heat by dressing properly, walking a lot. Using fan and cross circulation only, and NEVER using air conditioning. If you use A/C, your body will maybe never acclimate properly to the heat.) You must be willing to suffer in the tropical heat for about two to three weeks, for your body to acclimate. “Acclimatization”

As an American, technically Peruvian, I saw through Trudeau almost from the beginning. I saw some of his policies on paper and some of them looked reasonable, but when I heard him speak for the first time…I knew then something was rotten in Denmark (Canada). He came off as so overacting, like he was trying to compensate for something, he doesn’t so much talk with a person so much as he talks at them, and he came of as insincere. It amazes me how some of the people continue to get elected & re-elected even after we see who they really are. Politicians have been helping the criminal element more the last 2 years than I’ve ever seen. I’m just waiting to see what happens to the 2nd Amendment in the next 10 years.
I'll offer a theory for you. When these politicians go back to their constituencies at election time they concentrate on 3 things...1, making promises they cannot keep 2, coming across as the good guy/the saviour. 3, scaring the people in to NOT voting for the other guy else there will be dire consequences. BTW, ALL politicians do this. They only have to fool the people for a short period of time and then they're back in power. The only response I can offer is forget what they say and look at their deeds, what is it they do? Which issues do they get behind? Who do they support.
