Loving your videos! I hope you keep going with it. If Mick Herron wrote 20 more Slough House novels, that still would not be enough for me! Best of luck in becoming a Mental Health Nurse. The world could use a lot more people like you. Cheers!

Thank you so much! I agree RE Slow Horses, so so good!! sometimes crime thrillers are a bit cliché, but Mick Herron smashes it with Slough House.

Not usually into vlogs, and never write comments....Just had to say is a lovely idea, feels like we're book shopping with you. Great job, keep it going! 😊

I came from the kobo videos (and am going to be purchasing one now thanks to you! 😂) and love this concept of almost window shopping for books. I also love that you're looking at and mentjoning lesser known books. I find with booktubers it often feels like I'm just watching the same person over and over because everyone talks about the same group of books that are popular at any given moment. I would like to recommend The Phlebotomist by Chris Panatier. Go into it completely blind though, don't even glance at goodreads or anything, trust me. 😅

Here from the kobo vid. Your promises for separate videos on interesting topics got me to subscribe. Since you seem to like recommendations and LGBT books , I recommend the seven of spades series by Cordelia Kingsbridge. I finished bc it was a captivating murder/mystery novel, but there is a gay romance within (btwn a dectective and a bounty hunter). As the books progress, the author’s writing gets visibly better. I have yet to experience anything like it.

Love a good vampire novel. Normal people was OK. Madelaine Miller is excellent. Lonesome Dove was great too.
So tempted to go with a kobo for the colour, after watching your other video.
Have subscribed. Keep up the good videos.

thanks a lot, honestly my Kobo is my best purchase of the year (and there have been a shameful amount of purchases). There hasn't been a single day where I haven't used it in 3 weeks :D

Love the vlog! Your voice is so nice to listen to. I love Salems Lot too! Vampires are definitely making a comeback… have you heard of The Gathering by CJ Tudor? Pretty sure that has vampires that sounds really interesting to me!
Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides is one of my favourite books ever, definitely worth a try.
Can’t wait to see more from you!

Hello! Thank you for your super kind comments; it really means a lot. I have never heard of 'The Gathering', but you have me very excited now that it has been added to my list. I have heard of Middlesex; I believe I actually saw it in a shop recently, too!? Thank you for watching :D

On the same shelf as “Less” in Waterstone’s there was “Paul Takes the Form of a Mortal Girl” by Andrea Lawlor - can’t recommend it enough! I’ve seen it reviewed as a “90s punk Orlando” and its very much that kind of style! Loved the vlog! 😊

The only thing I miss about working n central London is the easy access to the book shops. May I recommend Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles series, if you are unaware of them. The first in the series was published in 1976, so not the 00's glow up vampires.

Have you tried Donna Tartt's The Secret History? That's a great read.

If you enjoy memoirs i’d also recommend “Hijab Butch Blues” by Lamya H - The author takes us through the course of their life as a queer, non binary muslim, highlighting people and extracts from the Quran in each chapter and sort of weaves it throughout their life
