Interesting topic. I have a few SMB clients friends refereed to me when they got sick of prior contractor. The one job I was just dropped into and had to find the issue. I was a little nervous new client, new setup, have to track down the issue. It took me a little longer to find the issue because had to learn about all the initial setup, I found issue, spent about 5-10 minutes verifying that the issue was fixed. Then he had some old systems that needed to have the data wiped off so I setup a DBAN on them and left them run. It took total maybe 1.5 hrs, I probably could have done a little faster. Owner was more than happy to pay a full 2 hours though. Even though I would have just let him make it 1.5 HRS. I found I don't always have 100% idea what i'm dealing with and sometimes there is a slight learning curve with some app, etc. To me it seems if you do what they hired you for, it takes a little longer because some issue came up, etc. your not hard to deal with the client will generally be happy. If you come in do a crap job, just throw a bunch of things together so it sort of works then your going to be fired eventually.
I have made around 14 websites for companies with between 1000 and 25000 followers on facebook (just to show the scale of the companies) - And It only really took me 1 website, as all 14 derive from the same original template (which is a one-page responsive page written in javascript, html, css and that's it.
200$ for html email. And here i'm sitting having friends wanting to pay me max 15$ for a fully-fledged e-commerce site that will host itself for free. Really need to figure out a way to explain to people the real cost, but template websites make it look as if custom tailored websites cost just a meal.

Richard Salazar A+ is useless, don't waste your time. No one cares about it. Just pick some topics you want to learn first and get on Google and RUclips.
+Richard Salazar Lotts of the Certs are not useless they are "bricks" when building your foundation. They add up when you put them together. Microshaft is not dumb - they create new certifications and requirements constantly that we must pay for to look or stay "current" (They want to make money too). keep gathering the ones you need that focus on the direction YOU wan to focus on because you cant know everything- and like Eli stated build a lab or invest in simulation software and have at it. The curse of getting your certs and or degree is when hired you will be expected to know it all lol.. Good luck

I am on the same boat. One of my friends once told me that he'll pay me 5 dollars if I made him a custom made website with its own domain.
they'll learn once they have a horrible website that does nothing they wanted it to do. They'll pay if they want it.
