      I was too scared to bring that up in the last Jinjer video because I thought it might come out as offensive. It looks like your eyelashes, eyebrows, hair and clothing is painted in vantablack, while your skin looks like you bathed in liquid bronze, which is super straining on the eye and hard to find focus (especially when you sit further back your face becomes super mushy).

      Absolutely love your enthusiasm for them and your appreciation for the whole band. One of my favorite songs is “Outlander”. It’s from 2014 and shows them with a 2nd guitarist and a different drummer. Great mix of growls and cleans, with a sic drop in the middle. Keep doing you 😊

      Pisces was recorded not long after she cut her meter long dreadlocks, hence the short hair, probably 4-5 years ago
      This was recorded last year.
      Lotsa extra tats and her hair grew out again.

    Definitely check out "Perennial - LIve at Wacken 2019" for LOTS more of her tats... huh... Tati's tats. Haha. Anyway, it's also one of the best live performances (by any band) you'll ever see or hear.

    For what it's worth, Napalm Records is very relaxed when it comes to copyright claims, probably because they know how much publicity these videos get them. I have never heard of any reaction videos to Napalm Records' music getting removed, even when the person didn't pause at all. I know that is not the case with most record labels, but with NR it seems to be.
    Having said that, I have no issues with you pausing, I am here to see a reaction, not listen to the song. I tend to click away from videos where the people don't pause and don't say anything during the video because that's boring and that's not a reaction. If I want to hear the song I will watch the original video, I don't need to watch someone stare at a computer screen for 5 minutes, then say: "That was nice, thanks for watching!". I am here because I want to hear what you are thinking as the song is progressing.
    As for the tattoos, yes they are real. In fact Tatiana is somewhat of a tattoo artist herself, having tattooed herself and Eugene (the bassist). These guys don't fake anything, not their tattoos, not their music, not their lyrics. All of their lyrics are real, coming either from their own personal experiences or those of people close to them. Honestly the list of things they have lived through is insane.
    A bit of a side note, Tatiana is actually a really good artist, you can see some of the stuff she has drawn on her instagram page. The artwork for their Cloud Factory album was hand drawn by her.

    • @HollowGolem
      @HollowGolem 4 года назад +5

      When it comes to pausing, I think the best way to do it is pause and give commentary. I hate the people who just pause to avoid copyright, but don't fill the gap with anything. Share your insights. Share your feelings. What stands out in the music? Don't just gape slack-jawed.
      That's one thing I like about this channel: there's a reaction in the pauses.

    • @kevinfeeney5309
      @kevinfeeney5309 3 года назад +2

      Well said. I agree with the pausing. If you wanna hear the music go to the original video. How hard is that? I like hearing feedback as it comes to the reviewer's mind. And love the new information about Tatiana.... makes her even more dope as hell.... now I have a 2nd person I'd love to get tattooed by. First is Apo Whang Od (since im Filipino) and now Tati.

  • @CgGoil
    @CgGoil 4 года назад +29

    First, i really enjoy your reactions. Second, you are saying in this video, what i have been saying for years. I am a metalhead, but the most important thing for me, is that music moves me. I can't stand it, when people are saying that metal is just noise, or it is only been played by the musicians that can't play real music. I equally hate it, when some metalheads are so narrowminded, they only listen to metal. Music is art! It is about expressing emotions. Some are technically really skilled, but to be able to hear the true talent, you have to take your time, and listen. Really listen. It is not enough to listen with your ears, you have to listen with your soul! Because i have learned to listen to music, i can find art in blues, jazz, pop, metal, hiphop, swing aso. In the metalgenre you can find musicians, that are classical trained, and the genre is so broad, so you have bands that are influenced from swing, opera, blues, brazilian folkmusic, and a lot of other things. I always say that people should see it, just as any other extreme genre in music. Just like opera or fusionjazz, it takes time to get what the emotions in this type of music is about. It takes effort, it takes training, it takes a mind that is not afraid to think and to dig a little deep. As i said, it is about emotions, and the more we learn about them, the better we can be as humans. Having a broad taste in music, makes you a better person.

    • @LunarisArts
      @LunarisArts 4 года назад +3

      Amen to that. Music speaks to you, and even if it's not speaking to you right now, there will be a time when you will feel it at such a viceral level that it some times feels like having your internal organs ripped out by a ghost hand, other times it replecatea the feeling of being in love where previously it did nothing for you.
      Scent is the shortcut to your memories. Music can bring back old emotions, and make you feel things you've never felt before... no matter the genre you listen to. Sometimes it just clicks.

    • @Dilligff
      @Dilligff 3 года назад +2

      I was fortunate enough to be exposed to a wide variety of music when I was young. My first two albums I ever purchased were GNR's Apetite for Destruction and Enya's Watermark for an idea of range. Your comment about music speaking to the soul is completely spot on, and genre shouldn't even play a factor into that. Now as far as preferences, I still have them, and they vary by my current mood. I'm not particularly into the growling metal, primarily because I have difficulty with comprehension, but Jinjer is on another level entirely both because of Tatiana's incredible range and flexibility as well as the insane skill of the rest of the band. I've only recently discovered this group and feel a bit deprived I hadn't found them sooner. Their music, if you actually pay attention, is a both a homage and montage of a wide variety of music and styles and not just metal.

    • @CgGoil
      @CgGoil 3 года назад +1

      @@Dilligff , completly agree. Genre should not be a factor. I have always thought it was a little weird, when a band got critisism for doing something that was not their normal genre. I just think that it is a testament of creativity and a desire to play with their music, to discover new things. I am happy to hear that you too, got a good upbringing, musicwise. I really believe that is so important for a person to be learning about music and creativity, from the very beginning of their lifes. Off course there is nothing wrong with having a preference, just as long as a person doesn’t keep away from other types of music. Personally i haven’t really found anything that has done something interesting for me, in heavy techno. Country are also a genre i have been having trouble with, although i have heard pieces in both genres i like. Just not that many, yet.
      I felt like you about growling, for many years, so i get it. There is a danish musician who said, that people should try and see growling, more of a musical instrument, rather than of a type of singing. Obviously it is a type of singing, but what he meant was, that the listeners should try and listen more to the tone, the groove, how it sounds alongside the other instruments aso. Almost like a second guitar or bass.
      I hope you will continue with your Jinjer journey, because they are really creative, and as you said, they have a lot of different styles mixed up in their music. There is a lot of jazz, blues and reggae and also a little mix between rap and growl, in some of her vocals.

      Can confirm. I grew up going to metal shows in late 70's through the 80's, and my supposed metal friends from that time won't give this a listen because they can't get past the scream/growl........fucking frustrates the shit out of me, so I just give up, I'll enjoy Jinjer and keep them to myself

    There's kind of a different present to unwrap every time you listen to a new Jinjer video. Because of that, I think Judgement and Punishment or Retrospection would be the next Jinjer videos that would be perfect for you.
    On a side note, you might also want to check out a band called Mushroomhead. Solitaire Unravelling is a good video to start for them. They have eight members and two vocalists, both of which seem to have two styles of Their Own. Like Jinjer, they have shock value in their videos as well, but their shock value is in the videos itself, but they are likewise a very skilled band.

For your tastes I would recommend Perennial live from Wacken first, I Speak Astronomy, then maybe Ape after those two. I really like jinjer and I am glad you to. I have been listening to metal and rap more these past 3 years because when I was younger I only use to listen to the older stuff, I feel like with metal I can relate to what they say a lot and I feel like the people that say it is just noise don’t really take time to read the lyrics now granted there are metal songs where they only say like three words and the rest is just heavy great reaction keep up the awesome work and I am fine with you pausing the video

    Metal is by far some of those most relatable music out there but people usually don't give the lyrics a chance because of the sound which is extremely emotional type of music and can really feel when artists pour their heart and soul into the music

    Metal is fearless when it comes to talking about issues other genres won't touch. It is technically difficult to play. Never seen a metal band need autotune. I've been a metalhead since I found Black Sabbath.

    That's a good point that shows why I love metal: the story. Metal music has had songs about racism, unemployment, anti-war, the dangers of drugs, depression, heartbreak and other things you can relate to. Other genres do it too but for me, metal seems to be more in tune with the regular public and topics that some just skim over.

    I'm a Hip-Hop fan...I love 80's Hair Bands, Jazz, Classical... BUT, Jinjer is the most interesting, Progressive band I've ever heard! Jinjer is a band that tells stories...and doesn't stick to the same old script! They write a new script every time! BTW Gitana, I love your Reactions! I love your nervous energy! LOL

    you've gotta see Retrospection or Perennial live at Wacken 2019. Perennial is the last song of the show and after a whole festival of gigs and Tati fucking owns it 110%. Jinjer never disappoints

    The thing with Jinjer is, I came in with Pisces and fell in love with Tati, though for me the experience of first hearing the song was quite different than to most. I was happy when she started her grunts, because for me the music then actually became good. Before the drop the song was quite bland to me.
    Then I started listening to the band more, listen to albums. The more I listened the more I enjoyed the band, I really love the basslines that are very strong in the songs, and they are amazing. They play so tight as a band. Tati is a force of nature, a beautiful and very talented and skilled singer! But without her band I would have stopped listening a while back now.
    Maybe you should try listening to "The Hu - Wolf Totem" I think you'd really enjoy reacting to that!

    Hullo! From a musician and ex-DJ's viewpoint: "All 'music' is "noise" to those who are **deaf** to art..." - "There is an infinite number of 'colours' on the tonal palette; some more palatable than others to the individual, but no more important than the shading at the fringes of the shadows." -- AJDevlin..... Young lady, I tip my hat to you (revealing a balding pate!) for being so open-minded and accepting of the **possibilities** that exist [with even more maybe 'waiting in the wings'!!] -- Blessed Be, & Peace!!

    I Speak Astronomy is another one you should check out by Jinjer. Not many people react to it, but it's a very good song, both the live or the studio version, can't go wrong with either.

    Great Reaction.
    Regarding tatoos, Tatiana and Eugene did an interview for "tatoo.com" (ruclips.net/video/8KqpdvlGUdE/видео.html) during their US-Tour in 2018 where they showed and explained some. She even started to do tatoos herself. Tatiana is such an exceptional artist. She is not only a fantastic lyricist, but also draws, designs (drumheads which she sells at their shows, she said in a "Bus Invaders" video (ruclips.net/video/DDOcBcHD_LY/видео.html) and i believe she designed a couple of Jinjer T-shirts, but i am not 100% sure about that).
    And then there is this gorgeous clean singing voice and these awesome extreme vocals she can do. One of the two vocal goddesses i admire (the other one is Floor Jansen from "Nightwish").
    Eugene, Roman and Vlad are such fantastic musicians and masters of their instruments.The guys combined with the talent of Tati can only result in absolute awesomeness.
    I am happy i could experience them on stage at Wacken 2019. I have never been at that festival before but when i heard that two of my favourite bands (Jinjer and Eluveitie) would perform there, i had to get a ticket. I had to buy it on ebay for some Euros more than the normal price as Wacken is always sold out, but i am glad i did it (one day after Wacken 2019 was over the advance booking started and the first 10k tickets for 2020 were sold in just 8 minutes it took only 24 hours until the remaining 65k were gone).
    Well, now Wacken 2020 is cancelled due to this virus, but my friends and i could exchange the tickets and now we have the chance to go there next year if, hopefully, this virus-crises is over then).
    It is just too bad that we could not see "50 years of Heavy Metal" with Judas Priest which was announced for 2020. I think that would have been a great show for such an anniversary.

    "Please teacher teacher, leave us alone, as we accept life lessons from no one!" That line to me is a very good summary of the meaning of this song. While it tells a story about an individual at a religious school (most likely a catholic school), it really has nothing to do with religion at all. I believe I read that the song is basically about "influencers," be that Hollywood, RUclips, politicians, religious leaders, etc. trying to tell you what to do, or force some ideology, or impart some sort of knowledge despite having ZERO experience themselves. And in this day and age of social media (which I avoid like the plague), Lord knows everyone thinks they are a genius and should be telling you how to live your life, which I can't stress how annoying I find that.
    Great reaction as always 😄

    5:37... they've been saying those kinds of things about heavy music since heavy music began ...and I've been enjoying heavy music the whole time. 😊 Keep in mind too most of those who criticize can't even come close to what a lot of these bands are doing. 🤘...rock on sister!
