- Is Mercari good for sellers? In this video I give you the beginners guide of how Mercari works and how to get started selling on the app. If you are new to reselling or just trying to declutter your closet, Mercari is a great platform for beginners to start. We will cover some of the benefits of the platform and go over the selling process from listing an item to getting paid. As a full time fashion reseller, I have a lot of experience with different resale market place apps. Mercari is one of the best places for beginners to start because of its ease of use, buyer & seller protection, easy shipping process and low platform fees. The platform is very user friendly and straight forward which saves a lot of time in the listing process. You have a lot of protection as a seller, if anything goes wrong with your transaction or a return, Mercari will reimburse the sale. You can select prepaid labels from Mercari, which means you can just print out the label and stick it on the package. If you choose the prepaid label option, you also get a $200 shipping protection. Mercari only takes about 13% of your sale after platform and transaction fees. This is much lower than a lot of other platforms out there.

The number of sales I make on Mercari vs. eBay is very close although the clientele seems to be different. Mercari buyers almost always want a price reduction even if the listing is already at rock bottom so I start higher than what I really want to make. Also, I usually wait until I have several likers before I promote because once you promote to likers at a certain price, you always have to go lower the next time on Mercari. My eBay buyers know what they want and buy without dickering.

I’m backing out slowly from posh too. Fees are just too high for high tag items. eBay’s fee is mich lower and the traffic much higher!
I'm still selling on Poshmark! I sell on Poshmark, eBay and Mercari. I like to have multiple sources to sell on so that I am not putting my eggs in one basket

i sell on mercari. its more like a yard sale. i would be scared to sell anything over 20 bucks on there. listing is horrible because you cant put in a quantity, sell similar feature, fees are high.

uhh Mercari shipping is complicated. you don't just print it out and slap it on, you actually have to know the weight and if you use the incorrect weight label they will take it out of your sale profit.
Yup! So I used to work the shipping cost into the total price, call it free shipping and used Pirate Ship for all Mercari sales.
That’s why you buy a weigh scale and weight the item. I’ve been selling on Mercari for over a year and it’s not complicated at all
@@usernamenotfound2898 wow I've never thought of a scale before! must be a new invention. uhh, most people selling on Mercari are just trying to get rid of their old stuff and aren't investing in business expenses such as a scale to weigh shipping items. Mercari is essentially a garage sale.

Just an FYI don’t use any stock photos, I got away with it for about a year then one day without a warning they closed my account at least eBay will send warnings and not close your account. Mecari also sides with the buyer, a case was opened against me when the buyer posted a picture you could clearly see they were not the sneakers I sent him, I wouldn’t let it go so they finally did more investigation and paid me out, it was a sale for 120.00 mecari also closed the account of a RUclipsr because they said an item (which was hard goods)was not authentic she questioned the item or items and they would not tell her which one they were referring to they just closed her account and took the 50+ dollars she had pending. People need to be given the opportunity to defend themselves. I know using stock photos is a big no no so can’t blame them but eBay is the way to go at least they send warning email before shutting you down
Do you know what stock photo caused them to shut down your account? Sometimes certain brands are super strict about those kinds of things and others don't care. I wonder if a brand saw your listing and contacted Mercari so thats why they were so strict with you about it
@@la6136 no they wouldn’t tell me, this happens with eBay too but they won’t take down your post they send you a warning, they never shut down your account I know the company that are strict on using their stock photo every brand under the H&M company, Lululemon mostly on eBay Ugg there are quite a few so I don’t use stock photo on eBay. I thought Mecari would give me a warning ,they have also done shady stuff not sure if they know what they’re doing

never ever use other peoples pics ...what a great lawsuit.. i have sued 3 times and bought 3 cadillacs . you cant figure out how to take a pic with your phone or a camera?
