Dave, a question: I am about to order a P1X Pro, and was wondering if it would it be a better idea to get it for example with the Sparco R333 seat that has an adjustable back? I´driven several cars on track in the past with bucket seats like that one, and found them great in that they give you a lot of support but I don´t know if an adjustable reclining one would be more comfortable for a sim where one may spend hours at a time (I usually spend four to five hours a day on iRacing). In reality, we don´t need any support unless we go for a motion sim which I am not. What is your (and other´s) take on this?
@@bertram-raven Why should I buy something else If I already have Vario? Makes no sense,...but if I have something else I can make that work too. It just takes a bit longer.
The X1 Pro which is the most expensive still uses parts from the old P1X including the pedal mounts. This newer one is actually more of a downgrade. Still beautiful and a more pleasant cockpit to look but you're older one, P1 is still a higher version of a cockpit. Would I take any of the two, heck yes. Give me any cockpit.
I’ve been looking at at sim lab for the last 3-5 months and they haven’t even had a seat listed on their site in that time. Are they going to start carrying stock on that seat? I agree the blue seat looks gorgeous. Do you feel the seat is comfortable enough to sit in it for 3-4 hours? Is it sturdy? Thanks Dave 😊
I have actuators.SFX Other motors and so on. So while it looks great the PRO version is actually a downgrade from the P1X. Put the pro on the original P1X and call this the P1X
Im curious: why is it a downgrade? Harder to mount actuators to the new profiles? Would be nice to know :) And there should be some advantages with the new pro: for example, being lighter should be better I would guess?
I'm looking at getting something from sim-lab, not sure if this is the one or the X1-Pro, do you have any thoughts on this vs the x1? I know its more expensive, but its got vertical mounts rather than slanted, and it has a base plate.
The X1 pro uses parts from the old P1. That tells you the old P1 is a great pocket and his new cockpit is a bit of a downgrade. They're all great cockpits though.
Just FYI, just been told by Simlab Support that they're now not looking to distribute rigs (including the P1X Pro) to the UK until April 2024 at minimum due to shipping/customs issues. Gutted as I've had my eye on this rig for months now 😒
My total wasn't £1,218 and I purchased it in the black friday deal of 10% off plus I went for the single monitor bracket option I was expecting it to come to less than a £1,000 given 10% off and single monitor option but my total was £1,237 shipped to UK. Took 7 weeks to arrive. I can't work out where this price of £1,218 came from. But may be a deciding factor for anyone looking to buy
Little disappointed, I can’t buy the regular one anymore. Personally, I would rather have the P1 X for accessory compatibility versus the pro. But 🤷🏽♂️
You got a point but the pro does look way better😂 I'm sure someone will make ways to mount stuff to it. Recieved mine today, if in the US and you do order 1.. order it from micro center $100 shipping vs $250 directly from sim lab. Mine did come with the front mount tho, not sure if it came with the bottom mount. I don't think so, but I haven't opened everything.
Big downgrade from the original. There is a reason why the price actually went DOWN after years for a new version. It is a cheaper built. The only advantage of it being lighter is if you are using it with a motion sim. Otherwise, more weight = more better :) When I saw that they have discontinued the original, I bought the ASR6. I was dead set on P1-X before then.
They are not selling p1x any more, if I was in the market right now I would just buy gt omega prime. This is probably a paid sponsor I agree and for some reason simlab is just shooting themselves in the foot.
Yeah but you got the rig for free and if you talk bad about them they'll probably not gonna send you anything like it in the future. If you think the rig is good, fine, but I strongly disagree. I mean it's a sim racing cockpit, not a girl I'm going out with, I don't care about looks. It needs to keep my base firmly alongside with every other accessory, shifter, handbrake, buttonbox etc. And it just can't do that as nicely as a normal 8020 profile rig can, and it can't be as easily customized. So it seems like a downgrade for me and unfortunately they're not even selling P1X any more. What I wish they had done is taken the old P1X and made the pedals and the seat more adjustable so you can easily change between F1 and GT/rally style. @@davecamyt
@@anthonyhj559I did say the lack of slots might be a downside for mounting things. I said I didn't think you'd get a performance increase from the p1x which I've been using. Expensive but very nice.
But may be a deciding factor for anyone looking to buy
hello dave i bought myself a invicta base 4 iracing could you send me your setings
That's not really bad considering its the triple mount and seat for 1500 usd
Hey dave🙂
Little disappointed, I can’t buy the regular one anymore. Personally, I would rather have the P1 X for accessory compatibility versus the pro. But 🤷🏽♂️
You got a point but the pro does look way better😂 I'm sure someone will make ways to mount stuff to it. Recieved mine today, if in the US and you do order 1.. order it from micro center $100 shipping vs $250 directly from sim lab. Mine did come with the front mount tho, not sure if it came with the bottom mount. I don't think so, but I haven't opened everything.
Delivery time is just horrible at simlab!
Still has horrible to adjust pedal plate.
I think it's as good as you're going to get 👍
Im gonna be grumpy and say the old p1x, in silver is the best. not a fan of this, nor the X1 thing.
First one to comment. 🎉 go Dave. Big fan here.
Big downgrade from the original. There is a reason why the price actually went DOWN after years for a new version. It is a cheaper built. The only advantage of it being lighter is if you are using it with a motion sim. Otherwise, more weight = more better :)
When I saw that they have discontinued the original, I bought the ASR6. I was dead set on P1-X before then.
This comment makes no sense😂
one of the best? paid sponsor... we want the old p1x not this
They are not selling p1x any more, if I was in the market right now I would just buy gt omega prime. This is probably a paid sponsor I agree and for some reason simlab is just shooting themselves in the foot.
If it was a sponsored video I would have said so 👍
Yeah but you got the rig for free and if you talk bad about them they'll probably not gonna send you anything like it in the future. @@davecamyt
Why is the old one better?
@@anthonyhj559I did say the lack of slots might be a downside for mounting things. I said I didn't think you'd get a performance increase from the p1x which I've been using. Not sure what else you wanted me to say?
Regarding being sent things, I never ask and thankfully I'm in a position in life that I'd just go and buy something if I wanted it.
I just got one of these with the xp1 pedals i love it time to get a new pc for triples🫠
