Simply beautiful! Does Al live in a hanger BTW ? 😂 He makes an extraordinary contribution to our hobby, and also inspires me. He is the "Winkle" Brown of Rollastone 😂 Say thx to him for me. From Thunderbird 1, to autogyyos, to majestic biplanes to EDF. Great video as always Bob 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
He is good isn't he,always helpful especially when maidening members models,we are lucky to have him and won't let him go,I'll pass on your comments ,cheers Ramon 👍😎
Outstanding! Nice to see a scale pilot actually out practicing.RUclips is chock full of crash compilations featuring inept scale pilots who spend all thier time building and hardly ever fly. Then they go to the meet with little or no flying time on thier planes. I hope this is a trend in the scale groups.
Yes I know what you mean,Al likes to fly as scale as possible it hasn't been a good year weather wise for flying,it's always good to practice, thanks for commenting, cheers Bob😎
Lovely flying and lovely model. Thanks Bob. I have this kit in a box. Please ask your club mate So if it's a long job putting it together at the Patch or ???. Maurice
You will need to get to the field early if you're going to make it scale,Al has to attach the flying wires ect,the quickest I've seen him do it is about half an hour and the same dismantling,he's getting better though Good luck with your build Maurice it's worth it 😎
Just in case anyone thinks, 'RAF? But surely in WW1 it was the RFC - Royal Flying Corps?' Well, yes, but in this context RAF stand for Royal Aircraft Factory, the company which made the SE5a, SE standing for Scout Experimental. Arguably our best fighter of the war. Lovely model, beautifully flown.
@@bobbarlow1 I can't disagree with you, that this RC is a work of art. Probably one of the most svelt designs of that era, here meticulously and beautifully represented in scale.
Excellent flying skills... we don't often see someone who makes such thoughtful and scale-appropriate use of the throttle control!
Al is on the ball always thinking of his next move, unlike me 😎
And... what wonderful engine sound to match the model!
Those LASER 150 do sound 😎
Most of my local fryers love the fast movers without realizing what aircraft led the way. Thank you for sharing. Jim
One of the fastest in WW1,very slow by WW11 standards, great to watch though, cheers Bob 😎
So nice seeing the SE 5 being flown in a scale manner. Have gone to a few meets where the J-3s were flying faster than the P-51s.
I agree,I've seen sopwith pups doing 3d and hovering tail down, just not nice 😎
Beautiful model, beautifully flown. Hats off to Al!
Thanks Gina,I shall let Al know,it was a pleasure to video 😎
A pleasure to watch. 😊
Thanks Mark,it was a pleasure to video. 😎
The airplane and the flying were very very executed, nice job.
👍😎
Al at his best again. Lovely flight with the great se5a 😊
I keep watching it myself Ken 😎

Yes they really look at home in the sky flow by a good pilot 😎
I love low and slow 😊
Me too,great looking model 😎

Very well done Al…Wonderful Scale Model! The RAF SE5a is one of my all time favorit WW1 Aeroplanes!!! Greetings from Luxembourg…

Thanks Pascal,Al is really getting into flying it now,it can only get better, and greetings from England 😎
@@Grahame59that's right Graham, the RFC became the RAF on the 1st of April 1918,why the 1st of April was chosen is anyone's guess 😎
Fools Day!
Thanks for the Good Infos Graham!!!
nice
Very nice 😎
WWI planes are not easy to fly! All of the maneuvers were performed with excellence. 😎👍
Thanks Paul, they react to the air turbulence and need a steady hand, good job Al knows how to do it 😎
Looks good, but more Rudder would stop some skidding in the turns.
You could be right it skewed out of a loop,Al found a warpmin the tail when he got home so put a heat gun on it 😎
I meant to say very very well executed, sorry.
Thanks Rafael,it's a lovely piece of kit 😎
I doubt a real SE5A could get a climb out as steep as that after takeoff.
Yes I suppose you are right but the full size one's power to weight drag ratio is quite different but Al flies it very well 😎
The tail looks bent.
I'll let Al know 😎
5 minutes would have sufficed.
No David, you can't get enough of a beautiful model like that, sit Back relax and enjoy, cheers Bob 😎
