    the funny part for me is at 0:16 - the cleaner continues to do his work calmly as though nothing is about to happen. the athletes seem ready to start but he knows better that it is just a preliminary show and he has plenty of time 😄

    How stupid was it to include rock music in this video? It completely distracts from the match.

      What makes this wrestling match interesting is that they are from the same country, are friends, are both good wrestlers, and have to wrestle until the end.

      Excuse me? Bruuhh lol that was a crazy statement.
      I started Judo when i was 4 years old and my instructor was actually a Japanese Jujutsu instructor rather than a Judo one. Anyways, he told us a lot about the history of these arts and as you probably know, Judo comes from Japanese Jujutsu, but what you don't seem to know is that Japanese Jujutsu got it's throws from Sumo!! Same thing with Aiki Jujutsu and therefore Aikido!!
      Both Judo and Aikido's throws actually come from Judo, it's just that as the Rikishi (Sumo wrestlers) have adopted the strategy of gaining weight over the years, these throws are rarely used.

    • @nombregenerico8879

      I'm a Judo enthusiast, but Sumo is much, much older and traditional than Judo. If anything, it's judokas that have been using sumo kimarites.

    • @therealteal620
      @therealteal620 Год назад +3

      So I’m this case he was just wrapping his leg around to essentially trip his opponent, which is one of the many winning techniques classified in sumo. On the subject of kicks, it’s very limited. You can kick the opponent’s ankle if you’re trying to sweep it to put him off balance. Smaller rikishi tend to use that technique, like Enho, Terutsuyoshi and Midorifuji.

  • @TheLesnar28

    • @Thaumaturge2251
      @Thaumaturge2251 Год назад

      You can also win if someone is forced to put anything other than the bottom of their feet onto the ring.

    • @Dephire
      @Dephire Год назад

      That's only part of it. If any part of your body touches the clay other than the bottoms of your feet, you're out. You can also lose by pulling the opponent's top-knot - which usually happens on accident.

    • @abhijitbaner
      @abhijitbaner 6 месяцев назад

      out of the circle or losing balance in the circle (allowing hands or any other part of the body, not the bottom of the feet to hit the clay). One cannot use the hair of the opponent or use fists like boxers do or bite like Mike Tyson. Those are immediate disqualifications

    It's literally just a mindless shoving match. That's it. There's no technique or skill involved in this sport at all. The bigger guy who gets the dominant position first wins through sheer mass and luck. I'm glad this sport has been preserved for so many years, but really, it's just two fat guys in diapers pushing eachother out of a circle without any technique involved.

      @@chesterfieldthe3rd929 I've done Judo for many years, as well as BJJ and some wrestling, so I know what proper grappling and wrestling technique looks like. This is just two giant hippos bashing into eachother and the bigger, stronger guy wins either through strength or luck. That's it. I've watched dozens of these matches on this channel and still have the same opinion.

    • @twostate7822

      Only the totally uninformed and ignorant equate sumo to having no technique or skill. Guys who are outweighed 150 to 200 pounds can win matches. Most of the pro sumo guys never make it to the top division because they don't have the skill and technique. If it was just sheer mass and lucky, then all the bigger guys should all reach the top division eventually About 3 years ago, there was a guy in the top division who weighed around 220 pounds and was outweighed by 100+ pounds in most of his matches.
