We had the exact same experience in France regarding checking in and out. Nobody seems to know even though that's their job. At the end of the day, it was to our advantage. As for La Rochelle, absolutely fantastic place. We hired a car and explored the Dordogne region which was sensational. We look forward to your next adventure.
@@wesailwillow wow that sounds like a lovely trip! Have to agree, the current approach seems to benefit us, so we just try to do the right thing and…. enjoy!
Save the contents of the fridge, whatever else you do is secondary!! Hope it goes ok, looking forward to the next episode - still don't understand why you don't have way more subscribers. Keep up the great videos and stories. Fair winds
@@SailingSeaStar_ that’s what we did. Adds miles and you get the horrible swell that you don’t get offshore. The swell can be so unpleasant that some boats go offshore to take their chances. You’ll hear a lot about the swell in the next few videos 😂
A, Les Sables-d' Olonne, the "Capital" of sailing... Seems like Pilot Whales at 15:30 minutes. I really enjoy your videos. Greetings from Belgium (Flanders).
@@4everB2 thanks for the feedback. What we were unsure if is whether we can only use our French visa in France, or whether it allowed us to travel within the entire Schengen zone for the duration of the visa. We now think it’s the latter… but I still haven’t seen this in writing anywhere and what we’ve found is that approaches can literally differ from person to person…!

@@SailingSeaStar_ heed the warnings and alter your course accordingly! We have talked to quite a few people this year who’ve been ‘interacted with.’

No visa stamps needed as long as you stay in the Schengen area. You can Google the 26 countries. Portugal and Spain are included.
