My mother watches a TON of Hallmark movies, her favorites are the mysteries. I have spotted at least 30 different actors in her movies who have been on Supernatural. It has sort of become a game of Where’s Waldo...I’m constantly on the lookout. Also, the girl Logan likes so much (Sarah from season one) stars in a series of movies on Hallmark 😁
@@yourenotmysupervisor9311 That's because most of the Hallmark movies/shows are shot in Canada, like Supernatural was, so the actors overlap. Yeah, Taylor Cole, who played Sarah, does a ton of Hallmark movies, as does David Haydn Jones who played Ketch. There's even one Hallmark movie where Danneel Ackles and Gabriel Tigerman (who played Andy in season 2) both played supporting characters.
It's very interesting listening to reactors talk about this episode because it kind of gives you an inside into the reactors thoughts on the whole high school, bullying subject matter. I like hearing the different opinions
Agreed. I was bullied in HS, I ended confronting the bully and he backed down. The bad thing is I am in my 50's and this continues in the workforce with bosses with power.
fun little trivia in this episode: if you're familiar at all with the film I Spit on Your Grave, you were very shocked at young Dean suggesting taking Amanda to see it. It's definitely not a date movie. IIRC, it was mentioned here because the actor that played Ash in season 2 was starring in the remake and it was a nod to that.
Couldn't agree more, my math teacher was literally the reason I was bullied for 3 years. My history teacher on the other hand was always so nice to everyone, Sam's teacher and their interactions in this episode always make me think of her.
This story is really good, it shows that sometimes we create the bullies by bullying. It can be a circle, and that's not a excuse to bully but that everyone's life is complicated. As the quote from Gladiator says "what we do in life, echos in eternity."
What I hated in school was when I would start a new grade and a teacher would judge me instantly because of my last name. I am the youngest of 6, three of whom I share a last name with. If a teacher has one of my siblings, they would pre-judge me based on the experience they hid with them, instead of allowing me to start fresh like everyone else. If the had one of my brothers, they would expect me to be a troublemaker or a class clown (I was neither). If they had my sister, I was expected to be the smartest student in the class (I suck at math and science). Very few teachers allowed me to start off without expectations, so the ones that did were my favorite.
A teacher who had taught my brother said to me on my first day in her class, "I didn't like your brother and I'm not going to like you, but the thing you have to remember is, I'm the teacher and I always win."
@@helenwood8482 you win lol. Never had it that bad, though I did go to a different high school just to avoid all the sibling drama. My mother was in the office with the principal practically on a weekly basis with the other three. I knew it wasn’t going to be good for me if I went there, since the principal and vice principal disliked my siblings and my mother. Mama was never shy about yelling in their faces when she felt they weren’t being fair to my sister. I avoided that school like the damn plague!
I was one who grew up in public schools and hated it. We had no options for my daughter but public school as well. Luckily, we found one that put an emphasis on personal responsibility. That made a huge difference in her experience. That being said, I hate zero tolerance policies at schools because it punishes the bullied for standing up for themselves. We always told our daughter to tell them to back off first. Then get help from a grownup. If she's still getting bullied, she has our permission to defend her self. If she's suspended for it, we would back her 100%. But she better not ever start it.
I always liked the actor playing the teacher. He was great in the short lived series The Chronicle on SyFy. It was kind of like a zany mix of X-Files and SPN that aired in 2001-02. If it had been renewed, it would have crossed over w/ another amazing SyFy show called The Invisible Man (had it been renewed for S3).
Throughout high school I had the luxory of having amazing teachers and went above and beyond. That is, except for one teacher who was a total ahole. He was a science teacher for Honors/AP/Magnet students. He'd go on and on about how he used to be a nuclear professor and helped build several nuclear power plants. But he honestly didn't care about teaching at all, he'd let the kids do whatever they wanted-play games, watch RUclips, sleep-during lectures and even show up late while only giving us packets to work on. He ended up failing 60/80 students from his 3 Honors physics classes by giving everyone a college grade exam with work that wasn't gone over during the entire school year. I mean, I can understand flunking the bad kids, but even I did bad (I got like 75% on the final. I know that's a pass, but I'm a straight A student so I was pissed). It got so bad the superintendent had to get involved because it was almost unheard of.
I’m sure I had to have misunderstood what you meant when you said those two actresses are the biggest stars you’ve seen on Supernatural! Like, what?! Just off the top of my head, Aldis Hodge (Jake from S2) and Sterling K. Brown (Gordon Walker) are two of the biggest stars in Hollywood with a ton of major credits behind their names. Also, Jim Beaver (Bobby Singer).
Different country, but I went to public school and had my share of great and meh teachers. You might find a higher percentage of disabused teachers in public schools, but it might just be a number game; there are a lot more teachers in public than in private schools. And from what I heard, bullying can happen in any kind of environment. It might have been just pure luck that you saw fewer cases in a private school. I don't watch the 100 (yet) or TVD, but it put a smile on my face to see your reaction to those two actresses!
Bro, per what you said at the 19:54 min mark, I've got to step in and correct you. During your 3.5 seasons of reacting to this show (up to Season 4 Episode 13) thus far, there have indeed been bigger actors than the actresses who played Octavia on 'The 100', and Caroline in "The Vampire Diaries' --- and btw, I love those shows...lol. But up to this point, Linda Blair (Hollywood actress most noted for "The Exorcist") was in this show (Season 2, Episode 7...('The Ususal Suspects'). Also actress Helen Slater who played 'Supergirl' in the early 1980s Hollywood movie, and in many other roles was literally featured 2 episodes prior in Season 4 Episode 11 ('Family Remains'). You've also come across Adrianne Palicki, Lauren Cohan, Katie Cassidy, Mitch Pileggi, Amy Acker, Taylor Cole, Emmanuel Vaugier, Tricia Helfer, Julie Benz, and so much more.
The true victims in this episode are the ones that was possessed, not the ones that was attacked by the ghost. I can't feel even the slightest amount of remorse for the guy who got his hand chewed up or the girl in the restroom. The ones who was possessed was completely innocent and now have their lives ruined. Regardless of what your home life was like, that is no excuse for attacking others. As someone who was bullied in elementary school, I loved it when the bullies got their just desserts. It wasn't until Jr High that I finally had enough and started standing up to the bullies and my entire life changed for the better.
I disagree, the students who were targeted by the spirit were also victims. A girl doesn’t deserve to die because she was mean and that boy would be lucky to have any use of his hand after that. They may be jerks but they deserve the chance to grow up and hopefully become better people. There was a girl I knew in high school who was popular and a massive bitch. She was always making stupid jokes about how others looked, their clothes, their weight. I ran into her years later in a grocery store and she had grown into a decent person. She had three children and was running a small bakery out of her home. I couldn’t believe it was the same girl who once picked on me.
You say there is no excuse for attacking people but then say some people should get their just deserts, that’s you contradicting your own logic and morality. Just because someone was mean doesn’t mean they deserved to die. If that was the case, almost everyone would be dead because someone somewhere thought they did something mean.
@@CaptainPikeachu I never said there was NO excuse. I said that having a bad home life was no excuse. I stand behind my statement. If you're a bully, you deserve exactly what is coming to you. If you excused a bully because they had a hard time. That would be no different than if I stole something from you and got by with it simply because someone else once stole something from me. At least in this episode it is a bully getting hurt and not some random innocent. Does that make it morally right? No. But it was just.
I had a positive experience in public high school. However, my siblings went through such a shitty time because of their coaches. Apparently it's a thing that high school coaches pinpoint a former student as the black sheep and tell all the new students about them. That didn't sit well with my sister who had major issues with how people think of her. The wrestling coach demanded my brother lose so much weight to "cheat" at tournaments. He quit and became the black sheep despite being one of the best they ever had so every time he passed by someone from that sport, they just glare at him. My public middle school principal told my brother who was being bullied to "stop crying and suck it up, you're a guy. Deal with it."
How is dodgeball dangerous? hmm... well my highschool stopped allowing it because a boy got hit in the face with the ball so hard it slammed his head against the wall and he was in a coma for a week.... Amazingly, throwing things at peoples heads really hard tends to be bit riskier than average.
@@SimpleReactions They've never been like pillows, lol what kind of balls where yall using? Our dodgeballs were made out of a semi-scratchy rubbery material, inflated with a bit of give but not much, give it to a person with a strong arm and yeah, it's gonna hurt. I used to go home pretty bruised until I stopped being scared and actually started to try catching it instead of dodging because apparantly I suck at dodging.

Much of the issues comes with funding and training and the way that education is viewed in the country. The whole system itself is broken. It’s less about teaching children and more about just having them memorize stuff to spew back out on standardized tests. It’s horrible funding for public schools which then means even less funding to pay and train teachers which means it’s less stringent and less quality. Private schools fare a bit better in quality because they have money for good hiring and training and programs. The system has to change, but this country doesn’t seem to be in a hurry to focus on the education of its young.
