Glad to see you're staying busy. A few of us has really slowed down because of the heat and the price of fuel. Take care and have a blessed day and I'll see you on your next video.
I’m in Washington state, and I’ve been a chip truck driver for about a year and enjoy being home everyday but would still like to become an owner operator. Thinking this may be a good way but heard it’s really hard on the driver and equipment.
Thanks for the video bro.. I’m staying in the terry ms area and don’t WHERE to TURN to get involve with logging… Do I go to the mill or pull up on a job site, when you get a chance could you respond and thanks in advance bro ..!! Keep them videos ROLLING..!
What’s up bro I’m glad the video helped and what u do is call a lot of the local loggers in your area and ask if they need a contract truck and if they do u will prolly be working the next working day I’m located in collins Ms area.. if u see a Logtruck get the name that’s on the door and google them, call them
Could we get information about what these companies look for? What’s required? Besides a license and a year or 2 experience? What it’s like? The responsibilities?
It depends on if you are a company driver or driving for someone who has their own equipment. Both would require 3-6 months experience unless you know someone. ( pros ) Make ok money unless you're owner op, home everyday by 5 sometimes later depending upon the mill, really don't travel far. Some people get paid by the day, percentage or by the load. ( Cons ) Starting your day at 2-3am, rain out days you don't work, quotas, D.O.T. always looking for a log truck to hit, and this is the killer. The big crane you just saw, don't let it breakdown or just down for maintenance because it takes literally forever to get it running again! So if you're getting paid by the load you're screwd because that may be the only load you get because of the crane being down. I almost miss it.
Honestly depends on your area and experience probably just starting out u can expect around $800-,$1,000 a week depending on your hustle, but u can make more as well but like unsaid it depends on u

It’s not for the faint of heart but have u considered being an owner op and pull a chip wagon ?
