I just was up in omaha a few bucks but lost 30 then played hold em 25 50c and jammed 50 with qj into kk and j on flop and j on river lol I'm up 40 on the day so far took a break
I’ve heard you say many times, that the life of a poker player is filled with highs and lows. Thank you for the video demonstrating that, and your great attitude and ability to stay levelheaded through it all.
I feel like this is exactly how my last two months has gone. I'll be a huge favorite on every hand, and opponents will suck out every time. All I keep telling myself is that things will balance out eventually. Gotta just keep to a solid strategy. Hang in there Lex!
best thing for you to do is to take a break and get your bread up. a new feeling about things mentally when coming back, will make you win again as well which a break gives ya.
The aggression on the paired boards then backing into hands really saved you - you didn't seem to have much internal doubt about how you played those hands, but seemed like you overplayed them and got really lucky
Yeah watching both of those hands I was like wow this is a huge punt. Yeah you can have AA and KK but your not gunna 3bet the flop with those. Only 3betting the flop with bluffs. Almost no fold equity either, just making it a punt.
Glad Lex won back most of his money. Yes, correct in saying he lost his money unluckily, as he won luckily. Hope Lex sits down and re-eval his play and sees this. 1) Lex K4 ♠️ vs 74 ❤️. Yes villain got lucky w 7, but Lex got involved w calling station. Granted he pushed the action, but w those types of players all you need is top pair not even top kick, to win and get value. 2) JJ vs AJ ♣️ was a brutal bad beat. 3) AJ ♠️ vs AQ was cooler, hard to lay down w nut flush draw too. Lex winning hands: AQ off where he rivers A. Villain likely had pocket over pair, similar to how Lex lost hand #2 above(at best 6 outer, maybe 3)? Lex AJ ♦️ flopped top two, villain likely AK, AQ similar to #3? Lex JT ♣️ vs Q ♣️ _. Villain likely QQ? 😂 likely used same logical as Lex “no way opponent has 9x or Tx holdings in 3-bet pot”? And since 9, T paired unlikely holding pocket 99, TT. Yes Lex hit 2 outer river similar to #2?
@@thomasmattheww good career move on Lex part. Every semi-pro/pro cash grinder goal 1) take down big tourney 2) invite to HIGH stakes home game/livestream like HCL to play w rec whales. He doesn’t want to toil $40-50/hourly, or picking +ev spots in 5/10 games forever? Since he’s unwilling to play/improve in tourney, must play more aggressive style(more bluffs) ie Rampage. Yes the up/down swings more drastic > typical nit play. But that’s what gets livestream invites.
@@thomasmattheww HCL is either rec or cusp of regs. No “pros” except Garrett. Can’t speak of streams in TX, FL. But think are mostly regs trying to take their shot at higher stakes. I would do same in low stake games if I wound up at table w all good tight players, ask for table change.
@@greglist2991 Good analysis. The only difference in the two sessions is the attitude after each. Amazing how poker players can justify winning or losing.
Another vlogger I watch always says that you have your biggest losing sessions in the best games and this was a great example. Nice to see an immediate bounce back.
It’s good to see the highs and lows of poker. Poker is a lot like life, we can do everything right and still lose.. in the long run, we come out on top. Love the channel boss.
I'm happy you had a wonderful comeback. Losing doesn't look good on you. You are a very hard worker at everything you do in life. I admire your courage and discipline.
I started at the end of the video to see if you were going to say you rebounded with a crazy session again like you did last time. lo & behold you did, but as i rewind i see you actually posted some hands from this miracle recovery session. Bravo for that. Some times it comes in streaks. Well done.
The fact that you show your losses makes me proud… those nights are part of poker…. I could sit here and tell you about losses and bad beats… I won’t, but they happen
Jesus that was brutal. We’ve all had sessions like that where you can’t win a hand. Though mine are usually 400 a pop not 2500. Lol. That’s why I set myself a three buy in max
Before i start... I rarely post negative comments.... not sure I agree with alot of your decisions here... And if you felt you did bad the 1st day... I honestly feel like you did worse the 2nd day.... He had you crushed and I feel like in these last two days... you needed to learn when to give up certain hands... I really enjoy your content... normally I agree with you 95% of the time... this is one of those 5% and I felt like a comment was needed here... Hope you learn cause this could have been another big negative session... but glad you made alot of it back cause I didn't feel like you were playing like you normally do if that makes any sense? But keep up the grind
Hey Lex, your vlog is amazing, one small piece of suggestion, don’t tell us in advance the results of the session, you take away the element of surprise. Itll be more exciting not to know the end results and figuring it out as it goes. Also makes it more unpredictable. Keep it up! Cheering for you!
thank you for sharing this! I mean it. I just learnt to never pressure a CS. Never! Just because I can't. . That hand with 74 calling all your bets/raises/3bets (??), is mind boggling. This regardless of the outcome.
First ten minutes of your vlog are how things are going for me lately. Always ending up second best by the river. It’s just gross and you feel like it’s never gonna end.
I tried playing more aggressive with 'no call' poker, either just fold or raise hands and the variants were crazy but I did discover that the old saying is true that aggression wins hands, you just have to have the balls and the bankroll to do it which I have neither to do long term.
It always sucks getting your big win right after a big loss. It would feel nice to be up big time for a while instead of feeling like you’ve just recovered.
I lost $500 on Sat. It was as bad as yours. They keep catching up to me on the river. There's nothing I could do . The last straw was when I got the nit straight on the turn and bet $85 and 23 of clubs called and got the runner runner flush , of course
Let this be a warning to all novice/intermediate poker players; it can be very difficult to beat a guy with very deep pockets; he can afford to go all-in all night and lose….can you? In other words, he only has to hit once to take all your chips; you can’t do the same to him. PS-You have to know when to call it a night to regroup for the next session.
I recently had set over set over set on the flop with middle set, and top boat go down to quads in the same day!!! three sets on the flop won't happen again for the rest of my life, and losing to quads on the river prob won't happen for the rest of the year, especially not with top boat. For those two things to happen within two hours was just HORRENDOUS. I won 90% of it back the very next day.
Lex I have a question for you.. when you run into a difficult situation like this ,, do you ever think of switching to different table? Or do you get stuck in the idea of wanting to beat that table that your having trouble on??
ouch, I'm on a downswing myself and im taking a breather because I had to use my bankroll for life things. Sucks. Been crushed by 4 to a flush after getting it good as well as just getting sucked out on
You have upped the level of aggression in your game. Seeing it over the last half dozen videos. Has this been suggested by a poker coach, or have you decided for yourself to take this approach? Your standard game to this point has stood you well. Why the switch to Eathan (Rampage) style?
Peaks and valleys Lex......peaks and valleys. I do believe - my opinion here - you take risks by betting on the outcome before it gets there. But, whatever works for you. I also think your ability to call your opponents hand is inaccurate and needs refining - again, just my opinion. I really enjoy your videos, largely because of the reality. Far too many are on here with selling part of their commitment which means they are playing with backers who have a stake in their game. Definitely not into that. Keeping it real is what it's all about. Great job, my Brother. Where's Rogue?
is the hand jj vs aj real? I mean, there are people playing big stakes doing that kind of things? you have two big balls when you go to play again the next day and be able not thinking about that
It seems like my last several sessions have gone that way. Cooler after cooler. And getting sucked out on the river. I don’t have your bankroll but it still sucks
Although most people will rightly see the first hand call by the 74s as sick, I think it's not a terrible call if he read you for a flush draw. You didn't 3 bet pre so you don't have a big J (KJ, AJ, or big PP like 10s, JJ, QQ, etc.). So what are you leading out on? Not a set or big J and probably not big pockets. Maybe J10, J9s, JQ? Most likely wouldn't lead out but possible if you wanted to try and pot control or block a bigger c bet. You correctly analyzed that you look weak and you do. A set would likely check raise. Also, what hand flats pre out of position, leads and 4 bets the flop? Sets, combo draws maybe but that's when the live read comes into play. He just didn't read you for a big hand and made the call.
My brother I feel you I lost 800 the same night you lost your 11700 and believe me I felt as bad as you and even worst I don't have a bank roll like you have but hey that feeling of losing all you have is always nasty
