  • Hey everyone, thanks for dropping in today! 😃In this video, I'm going to share with you 10 culture shocks I had when I moved from Russia to Germany 🇩🇪It's been over 3 years, and while I've gotten used to a lot, some things still blow my mind 🤯
Do Germans really have cold sandwiches for dinner? 🥪 Do they carry empty bottles and their own bags 🛍️ to the supermarket? What's their take on pets? nd can you really drive as fast as you want on the Autobahn? I'm going to talk about all of this in the video!
Which of these culture shocks surprised you the most? 😲 Is there something else you want me to add to my list? Please drop it in the comments, I'd love to hear your ideas!
Thanks for watching, and please hit that subscribe button if you want to uncover more about life in Germany. Your likes 👍 and subscriptions make my day! ❤️

From what I know, tap water is actually more tightly regulated and therefore cleaner and better than bottled water :)

@2:15 I prefer the Swiss version of a door handle for my apartment. You have to lock the door but cannot lock yourself out by accident.

Hey Alina, there are some areas where the tap water is not that good, by that I mean it has a high "Kalk" percentage.

High kalk is not bad for you. Just for your plates, glassware etc and stainless steel fixtures. But for us humans a high mineral content in water is actually good

Hi Michael! Yeah, in some cities in Germany there is more Kalk in water than in the others. For example, in Würzburg, where I lived before, there was a lot of Kalk but you could still drink tap water there :)

First thing I thought when watching this clip and seeing you walking over a big place with her dog: Is this Ludwigsburg?! :-)))

@@76driver ist es auch. Später im Video kommen einige Szenen von einer Autofahrt, die nach den Wegweisertafeln ganz eindeutig im südlichen Landkreis LB stattgefunden hat. Meine Heimat!

"Dangerous door handles"??? Door handles are so much more practical than these stupid round things in US. I can use my elbow to open the door when both hands are full, try doing that with those knobs in an american house. XD

Dogs are not ubiquitous. You might run occasionally into a dog when in a restaurant. But usually they are kept outside of stores etc. And not every Germany has a dog or pet for that matter. Just watch videos of street scenes and count the dogs. You most likely will encounter them in parks. But even there not get into contact.
