Hello! I´m thinking of getting a Border Terrier, I am absolutely in love with them. I have met a few and one thing I noticed is that they have some kind of oily coat, that leaves a slightly "smelly" film on your hand. Is that true for your dog as well? How often do you strip them? If stripped, do they shed a lot? I am asking all of these questions because there is someone slightly allergic to dogs in our home. It would be so nice, to hear your experience!
Hey! We strip our dogs one or two times per month and when we do that we only strip a small amount of hair at a time to keep it tidy. Long or bad quality coat will shed more. Also diet can affect to coat and even make it smelly. Sometimes boy dogs smell more! At least our dogs doesn't smell, have a greasy coat or shed a lot of hairs because we strip them regularly.
Looks like you are feeding them a raw diet...
