It's almost like someone driving up to the dam and then getting out and bank fishing from the dam and then getting back in their boat. "No but he stayed in his boat!" But half the boats in the field can't make that jump without crashing out or getting hurt and what difference would it really make if he's fishing it from his boat that way and the other man parks his boat and stands on the dam? They'd both be fishing from the same water.. how would the bank fisherman have a greater advantage than the guy that got his boat in? He'd have no graphs and couldn't cover as much water. It's six of one half a dozen of another. 🤷♂️ Now if he had pulled up to the dam and cast over it like a dock cable and then pulled fish back across then okay.
If there is a creek or piece of water flowing in or out of it from Toledo then maybe. If no water is connected he’s essentially fishing a farm pond that’s not connected.
It’s a tuff deal.. hard to say, is one rule worse than another? Guaranteed all those big tournament anglers sped through a no wake zone, or took off before having life jacket on.. what makes breaking 1 rule worse than another, because he has a aluminum boat and can do it.. and you will bust a fiberglass boat
Let's look at some over looked issues. 1st no one was concerned about the Marshalls safety. Each competitor has a Marshall in the boat. Keith took a chance with someone's life. How did the marshall feel about Keith's actions? I know myself I would have soiled my underwear. 2nd Keith's boat left the water when he crossed dry land. Dry land is considered a wall. A wall creates a natural boundary.
If your boat goes out of the water like if you catch air then you too are out of tournament water. Don’t hate on Keith because his boat cost less and can get into different spots. Your $100,000 boat is faster and has norad sonar quality fish finder. Rules do matter Keith explained he had checked a similar situation no problem ever mentioned about jumping road just in the 1st situation he was told no because the water he wanted to go to was not considered tournament waters. In the case of Toledo bend the water on the other side was tournament waters.
Table rock lake 2 years ago middle of summer , 70 boat tournament 250 $entry fee, I came in with 24 lbs easily winning but when I pulled the fish out if my livewell I noticed I had 6 bass. I was pissed. But I turned myself in as well.
They have that rule to keep the airboats out of bass fishing because if we like myself would use an airboat to bass fish we would destroy the rest of the field that's why you can't go across dry ground some part of the boat has got to be in tournament water at all time.
Interesting take. That's the first I heard the airboat being the reason. The wording is vague, I don't think there is a specific reason. It could include an airboat, trailering the boat, jumping beaver dams, roller dams, or any situation where the boat leaves tournament waters at the discretion of the tournament director and appeals panel. There's always a chance of a bad outcome when the decision is left to the judges.
If he would have had a Leash on the boat .I wouldn't had a problem with it however that motor could have come up and hurt somebody when he did that there's where the problem lies safety!! And the water rule.
Have you seen any tests that confirm that the leash has worked? I plan on getting one but I wouldn't feel comfortable purposely putting it in a situation where I may find out if it actually works lol.
Like I said on my channel, AFTER AN INTERVIEW WITH THE HEAD OF THE WMA and a brief talk with Hank Weldon - this wasn't a natural structure. This was a concrete dam that is used to drain the wetland area in the summer. He did NOT use the roller system...because he couldn't without using a winch which is against the rules. Therefore, he accessed it in a way outside the rules. Gerald was right. Period.
Keith Poche jumped a beaver dam to get to an area. No one was put into danger by what he did. Then only thing hurt by what he did was his boat. Gerald sped through an area an got dangerously close to the boaters already there. Look at the video and he was dangerously close. People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. Just sayin.
Swindle is the new BASS Karen. I have never been a fan of his as he complains more than anyone else in the sport. He is mad that they aren't talking about him this time.
Suck ass! Rules are rules.if you have a winning bag and someone cheats are you not going to complain??? Be straight and fish straight!! Don't be a dork fish!
In the MLF BFL tourneys, the rule for Alabama rigs are 5 spinners, 5 lures, 3 hooks max or state rule applies if more restrictive. Alabama rig hook requirements vary from 1 to unlimited depending on the state, but the MLF rule takes priority. Therefore not leaving tournament water supersedes what the state may allow others to do. Anyone who has fished tournaments enough knows that. He broke the rules. Side note - I am not claiming that I know what was in the mind of Keith Poche but here is a thought. Knowing that an angler suppose to approach the director with any questions about the rules, he may not have done so on purpose. He went to the governing authority over Toledo Bend knowing they would tell him its legal to jump that roller. No one would see him do it. Then if he won the tournament he would pass the lie detector test when ask if he did anything illegal. I'm probably reaching. Some say I am not. BTW - RUclipsr Cerebral Tackle makes a compelling case why Keith Poche broke the rules. Watch ruclips.net/video/1tWkSbGCv7s/видео.html&ab_channel=CerebralTackle
The roller system has to be used, it wasn't. That's the only legal way to access the area. Due to the size of his boat, he can't use it. He would have to get out and push or use a winch. Both of those options are against the rules. Therefore, it is not accessible to him or other anglers in the tournament.
@@cerebraltackle Didn't you just say above, he couldn't use the roller system because he would have to use a winch, that would be against the rules??? So which is it??
@@Paul_Kasper which is what? This isn't an either-or. In order for his boat to get over, IN A WAY ACCEPTABLE BY BASS, he would have to use the roller system. But he can't use the roller system. This isn't an either-or... That's what makes him leaving the tournament waters. People aren't understanding the concept of "leaving tournament waters". Don't think of it as the boat not touching water... think of it as it's the concept of navigating a barrier.
@@cerebraltackle You are making no sense. You say he has to use the roller system that is acceptable by BASS, but he can't use it because it goes against BASS rules!?!?!? Which is it?? Use it, or not?? And if you say use it, then he will be out of tournament waters!!! He jumped an obstacle under power. Just like a log, beaver dam, sand bar, etc. State and local laws say he can do what he did. Both sides are tournament waters. How else is he supposed to get over there??
It's public. It is part of Toledo Bend under Sabine river authority. They put the little dam brake in to maintain a certain water level for duck habitat. At one time this wouldn't have been a debate. The only so called rule I see that he broke was crossing the dam. But, I've seen others do similar things and I have not actually seen this rule they speak of. I don't think it was malicious but if it's now a rule, then it's a rule...
@@traestuart384 yes I agree and it may be that people don't want to police bass master but want to police the open yes when water is full it be over that and be fine but since it was down I guess its not.
Update. Ducks unlimited and Texas wildlife created the 500 acres as a different impoundment. What looks like a sand bar is concrete. There is a roller system in place. How ever an angler must push their boat or winch it. Texas wildlife states it's not safe crossing at high speeds or designed for that use.
I'm calling bs if there is no RULE written stating that u cant go over dry land then what ate the rollers for he just made it easier so he did NOT get put of boat. I see no rules broken . It's not written and maybe the rule hook are diffeentvon elite mr swindle but please show where it stated what you say. With all due respect
He told the B.A.S.S fans that their opinion doesn't matter. That's all I need to know. Swindle lost a fan in me for sure. Without viewers he doesn't have a job.
Keith had to know they wasnt gonna allow him to do that i mean come on folks....! im with bass on this one and agree with gman and i like keith just saying
seems like next year they need to make it black and white on the rules i don't think poche did anything wrong..... it's not like he had a barrel of fish that he was hiding
Yeah...move across dry land by lifting or trailering a boat maybe...he did neither... he also remained in his boat the whole time which is a rule....they just hate it because it was awesome!!💪🏽🎣
Google image search John Crews and scroll down until you see the pic where his whole boat is airborne. His boat technically left tournament waters.... did bass disqualify him? If you're going to disqualify someone for a boat leaving the water you can't pick and choose.
So there's no difference in running across dry land and waves? The rules also say you can't leave your boat to land a fish. If an angler is out in the middle of the lake in heavy waves trying to land a fish, and both of his/her feet leave the deck, did they break a rule? I mean "technically" they "left" the boat. If "technically" was the standard for rules, the rule book would be as thick as a dictionary.
Keith's boat left one body of water and entered into a different body of water. The 500 acre impoundment was created by ducks unlimited and Texas wildlife. Water does not flow back and forth between the 2 bodies of water. The only time they connect is during a flood. This is very rare per Texas wildlife.
Wrong, he was still in tournament waters as that area is still part of Toledo Bend and allows public fishing. What he did was a little more spectacular but the same as guys running full out over mud flats with their motor digging a trench. He got screwed.
Seriously? It's CLEAR by the video he didn't use it! It can't be used at any speed! It's only used by a boat being pushed or by use of a winch. I interviewed the head of the WMA for my channel. This is fact.
@@cerebraltackle - didn't you also state a "fact" that it was 50feet wide? And the water level "rarely" was ever over it? If that dam is 50ft wide, then his boat has to be 50' long. Stop the video, you will see his boat completely spans the concrete section. Also judging the high water marks on those trees it appears as though the water level was over that dam in the not too distant past. You say you have nothing against Keith in the video you posted, but yet here you are commenting on other videos. If you're just reporting and giving your "opinion", then do that, don't comment on all the other "opinions", just looks bad.....

I'll share my opinions other places if I want to. Here, I'm giving you the facts. Now, if you're telling me that folks do not understand what it is they constructed...
Not a good look for someone who destroyed beaver dam to get into a fishing spot- G man might have stayed quiet.
Who made Gman the rules commitee . He even said if you aint cheating you aint trying. smh
Keith did nothing wrong the rules aren’t clear
The dry ground separates the waters
That was cool but also uncool
If he would have had a Leash on the boat .I wouldn't had a problem with it however that motor could have come up and hurt somebody when he did that there's where the problem lies safety!! And the water rule.
Have you seen any tests that confirm that the leash has worked? I plan on getting one but I wouldn't feel comfortable purposely putting it in a situation where I may find out if it actually works lol.
Before everyone jumps on the Swindle bandwagon here you go!

Swindle and Milliken should be lovers cause there like 2peas in a pod
And he’s never won an elite series event, unlike KP!
I've always liked Swindle but I like him less now
I had to finally unsubscribe from the Gman channel. He just needs to go fishing.
A law? They wouldn't have built the roller to break there own law.
its bassmaster rules... end of story
Is that water way classified as private water or is public water and in the opens rules it says any water barred is off limits 🤔
Very interesting. Do you know where I can find that information in writing?
Regardless, the tournament director has the final say.
$$$ has the last say... that dollar aint gonna last forever though
My smartass would of got a bucket of water and threw it on the spot where I wanted to jump. 🤣🤣 it ain't dry now gd damn it.
Mouth bigger than his abilities
He told the B.A.S.S fans that their opinion doesn't matter. That's all I need to know. Swindle lost a fan in me for sure. Without viewers he doesn't have a job.
Could you imagine being Keith Poches Marshall! We about to do what?
I am on swindle side, the water was not connected. Yep,the guys D.Q.
Keith had to know they wasnt gonna allow him to do that i mean come on folks....! im with bass on this one and agree with gman and i like keith just saying
That's why he asked TP&WD...he knew Weldon would say no. Tp&wd doesn't run the Opens...he was asking mommy because he knew daddy would say no.
seems like next year they need to make it black and white on the rules i don't think poche did anything wrong..... it's not like he had a barrel of fish that he was hiding
It's clearly all about selling shit
Yeah...move across dry land by lifting or trailering a boat maybe...he did neither... he also remained in his boat the whole time which is a rule....they just hate it because it was awesome!!💪🏽🎣
I bet gator trax boats phones were blowing up after that video the sales went up 100 percent damn good commercial add right there
Google image search John Crews and scroll down until you see the pic where his whole boat is airborne.
@@christopher9076 He is arguing semantics and is wrong.
Keith's boat left one body of water and entered into a different body of water. The 500 acre impoundment was created by ducks unlimited and Texas wildlife. Water does not flow back and forth between the 2 bodies of water. The only time they connect is during a flood. This is very rare per Texas wildlife.
Thanks G for saying that. I’ve been trying to explain that to my friends. He literally left tournament waters to get to another body water.
Wrong, he was still in tournament waters as that area is still part of Toledo Bend and allows public fishing. What he did was a little more spectacular but the same as guys running full out over mud flats with their motor digging a trench. He got screwed.
Oh you mean the same way he did when he jumped beaver dams. 😂
Those waters were above that days before hense rollers are to access that water. He jumped it and didnt leave the boat
lost respect for gman.
Swindle. Can’t trust him
Great video Ryan thanks
Was that boat blocking the roller system. How can you tell Keith didn’t use it G-man?
@@RH-go2dk measurements don't lie. What you're missing is the angle in which the video was taken. I'm telling you the measurements that it was built by. I think the folks that constructed it have a pretty good idea of what they built. They also have a pretty good idea of the water level kept in the area they manage. I'll share my opinions other places if I want to. Here, I'm giving you the facts. Now, if you're telling me that folks do not understand what it is they constructed... Or how to maintain the water level of a wetlands area... Then maybe you can take that up with Texas Parks and Wildlife? 🤣
@@cerebraltackle facts? You're giving your opinion, nothing more.
@@RH-go2dk You don't listen to well. I did an interview with the head of tournaments for BASS and the head of the WMA. That's facts, buddy. Sorry..laminate that Poche poster before you ruin it. You're the biased one, not I.
Thank gman for the great input all keith had to do was ask a tournament director before the tournament
So we're now taking advice on rules from someone who has only won one tournament in over 300+ competed in... I'm not an expert but I think even a blind squirrel could find more than one acorn around 300+ oak trees... Really feels like someone is upset that Keith is all the buzz on social media... And to call out Randy one of the all time good guys to stress a point SMH... Maybe G-Man needs to figure out some of the gray areas and win a few more tournaments rather than G-Crying out everyone else...
When u are the G man,, hell, u can be against the world and everybody is gonna agree lol
Good video sir. And as they say " the rules are the rules"
G-mam! 😂😂😂😂
Hey just came across your channel and your videos are very well done!
I’ve read the entire rule book. It’s definitely a gray area. Gerald really had no reason to open his mouth about it except clicks n views. Sad imo. But all of this would’ve been solved if Poche had called the director n made sure it was legal. Love Poche, what he stands for, and how he fishes. BASS update your gray area rules and shit like this won’t happen!
Isn’t that what Keith did here . He posted a video of this. He didn’t post it as educational. He did it cause he thought it was cool or cute… looking for clicks and views… I call BS on Poche … He knew he was in the Gray area of the rules. He knew .
@@Scottyzach that’s right, gray. Gray isn’t red, gray isn’t cheating, it’s right up against the line but not crossing. While this is 100% on Poche for not picking up the damn phone n calling the director to make certain, the rules were not broken. I don’t give a damn about clicks, good for him if so.
@@lancemabry6707 yeah I think he knew. That’s why he didn’t call for a ruling before…
