@hdmedia7404 I don't have any issues at all still very legible I also have the 38mm auto its seems slightly more reflective on that but still not as bad as the internet makes out. I think gives them a little pop.
@arshiaaghajani8387 sorry just seen I'm currently wearing on a black rubber waffle and it looks great (even though more for divers) it suits most straps
I bought one of these about 4 months ago. I can't believe how much enjoyment I still get from wearing it. Something about the absolutely casual, yet rugged simplicity really speaks to me. I am so glad I bought it. It's a great daily driver especially if you don't wear a suit and tie everyday.
@@hdmedia7404 Depends on how you want it to fit I guess. I think I am around 6.5 and I think the 38mm fits my wrist perfectly for this style of watch. the lug to lug I think is quite a bit longer than on other watches so I think a 42 would probably look to big on me. If possible I would try and find a hamilton dealer in your area, or order from a site that does good with returns.
I have the black pvd version. Paid $400 after tax added, new. The watch gains about 1 second per day, which is pretty good, and better than losing seconds as about once per month I can just stop it for half a minute instead of resetting the hands.
All the people in the comments saying 'only 5atm' are the same people that will never go that depth in water anyway. It's a simple field watch, not a divers. That said i have the 42mm as my daily and tbh i do own more 'luxury' watches but i find myself wearing this more often than not. Get a canvas zuludiver strap and you have something that is simple and can wear all day.
How many years should there be between services, and what is the cost of getting one of these H-50 movements serviced? I really don't know. Will I have to send it to Hamilton for it to be regulated when serviced? Having said that, I have this watch, along with the Khaki King (H-40) and Khaki Field Automatic (H-10). Love all three, but... I guess I could just wear one watch until it stops running reliably, then wear the next one, and so on, until I myself, or my watch collection are used up.
The prices for Swiss watches are absurd (retail for this Hamilton watch is about 550USD). Militado ML05 watch is the same watch (only difference in look, is that is doesn't have lug pin holes on the outside) and it costs about 40-45 USD. Same quality case and workmanship. Militado has seiko VH31 quartz movement, Hamilton has ETA mechanical, but how much can the price go up because of that.
@@F.haique It is a homage to the cold war watch. Nobody says it's a military watch or should be the go to watch in the modern military. That's like rolling out a Sherman tank and saying ,"can I fight in the Ukraine war with it?" It's just a great simple everyday watch with a great dial to tell time instantly with a Swiss made movement. It is the most comfortable watch I've worn too even with it's NATO strap it came with. BTW, I'm a retired 30 year veteran. For us regular folks, the "military" watch in my time is whatever was available at the BX, ( which was usually G-Shock and Timex).
The Russians only joined the allied forces because Hitler turned on Stalin. The US, Britain and USSR won the war. Leaving the US and Britain out is just dumb.
Russia obviously lended the most manpower and ground the Germans down in the east. The cost was far higher than on the western front. It was American and British air power though that destroyed the German industrial base. Also what about all of the lend-lease help the Russians received from America/Britain? Everyone did their part.
@@youraveragepasser-by7367indeed joined late. But the lend lease existed since 1941. The USA gave crazy amounts of food, tanks, rifles, trucks, and planes. Things I would highlight are the fact that like 10 percent of the Soviet tanks where given by America, nearly all the trucks and military jeeps where American at the time USA was known to be one of the only military super power to motorize its army. Other nations had trucks but it was not as wide spread.
It's the greatest and best watch I've ever owned. The strap however could be better.
I got this watch about a year ago and I must say I’ve never wore or loved a watch so much. I don’t go anywhere without it
Well said I love mine with a nato, rubber and leather strap it could be my only watch.
What about the sapphire glass without AR coating ? Is it noticeable on a daily basis ?

This watch is not based on a WW2 model, but on the MIL-W-46374B from the Cold War period.

Does it wear small ? I’m hesitating with the 42mm model for my 7 inch wrists 😉

One of my favourite watches
Excellent video and review, thank you. I am strongly considering buying this watch.
Really love this watch. Swapped the strap though, the leather keepers really rubbed me the wrong way.
The picture is very clear. Please tell me what camera and lens you used?
I bought one years ago and this goes well with any attire and I wear this more then my omega.

They really should have lumed the numeral indices!!!!
No they should not. If they lume the numbers on the dial, it is easier for the enemy to spot you. This is a field watch!
@@matyasd007 what a warrior!
Another great production guys 👏
Is this the 38mm one ?
just purchased one great watch.
Awesome field watch.
Is the narrator the same dude on the Liberty Insurance commercials?
Thank you for the video. How is the durability?I work as a firefighter, and I want to buy it
I have one myself, but not on a NATO strap. Great watch!
I love this watch
Very much looking forward to purchasing this model in a few months
Excellent field watch!
That's a nice watch, but as nice as it is, for an outdoor trip, I'd want a Garmin or Suunto, as it's loaded with a ton of extra features.

You will the service pricelist on their website. For automatic service the swatch group normally charge between 180 - 220 USD.
Service cost more expensive. Better just buy a new one 👍🏼
I cant decide between 38mm and 42mm

that much! You are comparing Japanese quartz to a Swiss mechanical. You cant get a better mechanism for this price tag
can this watch really be worn during war today?
