Thank you for such a detailed video. So many have shown taking a screw out to remove the belt and air assist fan and I was way to scared to do that. So helpful!
There are instructions on how to properly remove the belt. The right wheel is to be loosened by using a 3mm hex key about a quarter turn The wheel can then shift to the left, releasing the belt tension.
Great video, Thanks!!! I still feel the surfaces feel sticky after cleaning and the belt with laser does not move smoothly. Any ideas??? I don't want to damage.
@@KimandGarrettmakeit definitely should if you can. I got the ac infinity cloudline s6. Also got an attachment so it would fit the 4"inch exhaust tube on the glowforge and the 6" fan opening.
Doesn't a inline fan void the warranty? Just curious. I'm making sure I don't do anything to void the warranty. But if it doesn't I'm sure it's a life saver!
Thanks for the video. I don't remember that fan cleaning interface, how old is that? We removed our built in fan and replaced it with an inline fan. It never gets as loud as it used to, and pulls a lot more air.
It took about 2 hours, but I had to move lights and cameras. I think I could do it again in just over an hour. Cleaning the exhaust and the air assist fans were the longest part. I cleaned each one for about 20 minutes.
@@KimandGarrettmakeit , Thank you, so much for this detailed video. I am going to be getting mine soon and this will definitely come in handy. How, can we use your coupon code for the $500 off? Also, can you make a video on where you get your svg’s from and how you do the layering cuts for things that require layers. Again, Thank You so much! You guys rock! Tell Kim we missed her in this video😊.
I clean my machine every morning and use a soft paint brush on the lights (vinegar water and Windex) and wipe it down with a soft microfiber cloth when done.
I hope I never let my GF get that filthy. I wipe my GF down every day prior to using it. It helps keep up with the dirt and grime you are cleaning off of your machine.
Nice job those camera angles behind there were really helpful
I’m saving this to refer to later when I need to do a deep clean. Thanks for taking the time and effort to show us how it’s done.
Glad it was helpful!

Thank you Garrett. I got an error only my error assist fan the other day. Watched your video to get it clean. Super helpful video!
I'm glad it helped. Thanks, Molly!
I’ve done a surface clean but was scared of doing a deep clean. I was afraid of damaging something. Thank you. This helps a lot! 👍
Glad I could help!
Thanks!
Thanks!
It seems easy enough. Thanks for the demo. I am so afraid to do it, but it needs to be done.

THANKS for the info!
I've heard it's tough to get it back in place. Has that been an issue?
@@Walsfeo no, wasn't a problem at all.
The best comment on youtube ever.
Holy heck you just just my life and my fingers! That was SO much easier!!
Outstanding step by step. Very helpful.
You are good man to do all of that cleaning! So proud of you!
Thank you! It's his baby
I am terrified of taking everything apart
Take picture! It. Helps
I honestly needed this video
SO glad we could help
Great video! How do you get to the fan maintenance screen?
I REALLY want a she shed and a glowforge. I feel less intimidated now that you showed how to clean it.
Yes! it's not too tough at all!
Thank you!! You've made this soooo much less scary and intimidating to me. :)
Well done!
Thanks!
Thanks so much for this video! I’ve been needing to do a deep clean and it helps to SEE the process. You guys are great. Love your channel. 👍🏻
Where do I go to turn fan on to clean, as you are showing in this video?
Is this why the laser won’t cut all the way through?
I can’t reattach the belt 😮 I’m going crazy. Any tips on how to reattach it?
My crumb tray gets so gunky from the MDF. How do you clean that…or do you?
Great video, Thanks!!! I still feel the surfaces feel sticky after cleaning and the belt with laser does not move smoothly. Any ideas??? I don't want to damage.
Thanks for sharing!
Get the ac inline fan from Amazon if you don't already have one. It makes it soo much more quite when running! I love mine!
We really want to get one!

Hey Garrett can you guys do a video on all your shop tool
I can't get band to go back on the left side! Please Help
Ah! I had this problem! Is your ribbon plugged in upside down? That was my issue.
@@KimandGarrettmakeit Got it. Also, Thank you for showing an actual dirty GF. Everyone else's videos are them cleaning a clean GF.

Thanks for the Vid, do you by chance clean the lights on the lid ? and if so what did you do and use ? thanks in advance.
I'm not sure what you mean!
@@KimandGarrettmakeit Sorry the LED lights along the sides of the Lid mine are is all yellowed out.
Ah! We just used the magic eraser on those as well.

Excuse my crazy question. Is the QD contact cleaner a degreaser you are using instead of the 3M?
It's just a big box from amazon

This is why I'm glad I own a Universal laser lol. This seems like a hassle to clean compared a uni.
YES! Our bigger lasers are easier to clean and less often.

Thank you...Thank you...Thank you! ❤️
You are so welcome!
I want to clean it but I’m scared I will damage something.
What handheld vacuum did you use?
just our low power shop vac
Have you had any issues with your Glowforge? I am having tons.
Time to get it dirty again! 🤪
YES absolutely

That's a great way! We use our glowforge like 3 times a day and our daughter uses it to make jewelry so ours is WELL LOVED
