*Other Texas Counties are hiring private law firms to do "mass exemption audits" on property owners with, our own tax money.* It has been happening quietly over the last few years. *Take Care and Safe Travels Everyone!*
I'm mixed on this. They need to keep their records straight because when someone gets an exemption unfairly, we all pay more in tax, but it seems really messed up that the appraisal district will spend a ton of money to find when people are getting too many exemptions but then not spend a proportionate amount to identify when folks that should be getting an exemption aren't proactively identified and notified.
I have a question not related to this at all. When I’m driving on the Texas top panhandle on 40 West I see a county line sign that says Wheeler County…….. then I drive a little more and it says Gray County……..Drive a little more then it says Wheeler County again, I googled and the counties are square boxes and the road goes in a straight line. What is this sorcery?
There is a maxims of law you need to know and understand how it applies. Notice to the principal is notice to the agent, notice to the agent is notice to the principal.
I hope he starts a group that helps people protest taxes in the same manner that the United Way helps with filing taxes for free.

Hope a win win for all of us as it is our money that fills their pockets
