The main thing I have found to spoil my look is not smiling! I can put on a cute outfit, and do my hair and makeup, but if I have a drab look on my face, it ruins the total look. So, don’t forget to smile (and have good posture).😊

They have silicone on the edges to keep them in place, which I don't notice at all. I find that the high leg is my favorite- leg openings don't dig in, waist stays in place and the ones with the stretchy lace across the top are super cute. They are comfortable too.
You need to consider getting yourself a Blissy pure silk pillowcase. I used to have fly away looking hair like yours shows here, when I woke up in the morning and since I got my pillowcase NO MORE FLY AWAY DRY LOOKING HAIR and it stays smooth all day long! No need for any product on my hair or flat ironing it to smooth it! And it stays cool and if you move around you have coolness all over it! I have 4 of them! I am not connected on any way to that business except to get a product! It is AMAZING!!! Worth every dime.

Some mothers try to wear too sexy or mini-dresses to their children’s special occasions. For example,a red sequined minidress is not the right outfit for a child’s graduation or wedding, but I see the equivalent occasionally. We can still look cute and current and let someone else be the star.

I don’t like to show my legs also. But I do love maxi skirts and dresses. If I do have to show a little leg I use SALLY HANSON leg make up. It covers imperfections and gives a little color I use the medium color the Tan is too dark for me and I have olive skin tone. I hope this helps ❤

The only thing I hate about a March wedding- to be held in Dayton, OH is the weather! The potential is there for snow even at that time of year. This is when I hate the no pantyhose rule!

I am new to your videos. I am 70 yrs young , lol , and someday older than dust. Nevertheless I would prefer a dress that is not made with a busy pattern and beige pumps. No red on my toes that draws the eye back down. This way I would appear longer taller and leaner because I need all the help I can get. Aging is not always kind. To encourage myself I tell myself with age comes limitations but with age comes freedom. As a former makeup artist ladies can get caught or stuck in an old trend that is aging. I also saw ladies wearing clothes that were frumpy due to their health issues. Please know I am not criticizing you at all because you are beautiful inside and out and helpful. Keep advising ladies in the areas you are covering. Great job 👏
Beige pumps are the best shoe for lengthen the leg. If that's what you're wanting to do, why would you not wear it? I guess I'm Confused as you seem to contradict yourself.
I agree about bra straps. It is one of the cheapest looks that exists. I think a sholder strap with that navy dress distorts the line of the dress. The color of the bag was good, but a hand bag would be better.
I would love to see you do a video on hats. What looks best with different outfits. I feel like hats are like shoes. You can ruin a great look with the wrong hat for summertime.
I'm probably the wrong person for that because I rarely wear a hat unless it's a cap while I'm out walking or at the pool. I don't usually wear hats as accessories, although I do have a few.
I agree so much about lack of hair grooming. I recently watched UTube videos showing Chanel Street fashion, and I swear, these ladies had on outfits that cost more than I make in a year, but most looked like they had mops on their heads. Hair that had split ends, looked like it had been bleached to hell, and definitely needed attention. Made their outfits look cheap
Hey Serena. Love the blue dress. You’re so right bc the least little thing can mess up a beautiful outfit. That’s some good information. I would never even go to Walmart or grocery store if my nails & feet didn’t look taken care of. I’m very picky when it comes to good grooming. I checked the price on the pillow & WOW if I read it right it cost 200$ ? It said it can be bought with four payments of 49.99. I’ve been using the real silk pillow cases from Blissy for quite a few years. I never have wrinkles but I can see where that pillow would be great for my neck. I was reading about it. I might just have to invest in it for that reason bc I’m a side sleeper. Really enjoyed your video as always. I bet you have the legs for them, tho. Not everyone does. She's right: they can cut you off in the widest part of your calf, and also make a short leg look shorter. One workaround: wear them in a color close to your skin tone (not exactly --- you don't want to look naked, lol). It's a lengthening look. If you have heavy calves, like I do, wear your capris a little shorter, so that the slimmer upper calf just below the knee shows.

Great suggestions and I agree. Yes, the two most embarrassing things I see are yes the bra straps and ill fitting bras and also the panty line showing through shorts and pants that are really too tight or small or very thin shorts. When I try on clothes I look in my full length mirror and I use a hand held mirror so I can see the back of me just to make sure as you say everything is fitting correctly and if it’s not, I’ll send that piece of clothing back ir return.

I have a black tie optional Sunday evening wedding coming up in late October. The ceremony & cocktail hour are outside, and we are in NJ. Women are asked to wear floor length or formal cocktail dresses. It may be hot, it may be cold. Oy. Not looking forward to planning dresses for that, as I do need to buy something new as I have lost 20 pounds (so far) since the last time I had to wear a formal dress.
Excellent advice!!! I am loving on your tips and style. My favorite tip is shapewear! Get a great Bra and lower body foundation and it immediately upgraded your outfit! You can make an inexpensive outfit look sensational with a bra that holds the girls up and lower body foundations. Doesn’t have to be the upscale brands, JCP, Kohl’s, Belk, even Walmart has great pieces. Once you get used to wearing them, you won’t want to be without them. Loved the stepmom look! You knocked it out of the park!
Thank you in so many ways! First for calling out the designer handbag when the outfit does not fit the outfit. How many times have I seen in the airport, shopping, etc that they have athletic wear, subpar sloutchy clothing and because they have a louie tote hanging off their shoulder they think they are lookin' great.... Tim Gunn mentioned it years ago. I am so glad you called it out again. Purse expensive or not must match the style of outfit. Just joined last week and love your channel. Cleaning out the dressing room. I also love my formed pillow, one of the best investments. Loved the shoes video on having the weight of the dress match the weight of the shoes. PLEASE if you haven't.....address women young and old that have clingy clothes that when they stand up the fabric is caught in their butt crack. One of my pet peeves. With a dress or skirt, a slip is always worn and alleviates that problem but a slip is always worn for the fall of the dress. Thanks again! You are marvelous! Hi Serena..that was a great video. I am not saying I do everything perfect, but I think that by watching you and other style utubers I do dress much better . My mother-in-law was also good to teach me about fit, as she was a seamstress before she decided to go to school for hair at the age of forty nine. I know she would say we have carried the casual thing too far. The last wedding we went to the bride and groom both looked so good...groom in a nice fitted suit, bride beautifully dressed . It was an outside wedding. The green dress, you showed would have been fine, but people turned up in shorts, sweatshirts, old jeans and sloppy oversized clothes. Also, the last few funerals have been the same. I saw a lady the other day wear a cold shoulder blingy top with long gym shorts. My pet peeve is people not ironing or steaming their clothes. You looked stunning in that dress you wore to your stepdaughter 's wedding. It was perfection. I have learned a lot , but one thing I was late coming to is the correct shoes. I used to love the strapoy higher heeled sandals. I love the ones you have. I am not sure I can wear some of them with bunions. I digress..the point I was trying to make is I used to wear black strappy shoes a lot. I thought it was the right shoes for most dressier occasions . I told someone that a neutral sandal will elongate your legs and make most outfits look better. she said she never heard that. 🙄 I would refer her to you, but I hear this statement a lot...I am at the age where I don't care. Rita, I totally agree with you. I'm all for comfort, but it really has gone too far. When people come to special occasions, even if it's a "casual" wedding, it's nothing but disrespectful to come dressed sloppy. You aren't showing respect for yourself or anyone else.

I am petite and slim. I love the panties which will not show through pants. Please do not wear too much jewelry or perfume. Best to be admired than glaring and smelly. Less is more! I have very dry skin like my mother had. Vasoline works as well as a high quality sun protection. Also a smile will lighten your mood and brighten your face.

I agree about bra straps. It is one of the cheapest looks that exists. I think a sholder strap with that navy dress distorts the line of the dress. The color of the bag was good, but a hand bag would be better.
I would love to see you do a video on hats. What looks best with different outfits. I feel like hats are like shoes. You can ruin a great look with the wrong hat for summertime.
I'm probably the wrong person for that because I rarely wear a hat unless it's a cap while I'm out walking or at the pool. I don't usually wear hats as accessories, although I do have a few.
I agree so much about lack of hair grooming. I recently watched UTube videos showing Chanel Street fashion, and I swear, these ladies had on outfits that cost more than I make in a year, but most looked like they had mops on their heads. Hair that had split ends, looked like it had been bleached to hell, and definitely needed attention. Made their outfits look cheap

Hey Serena. Love the blue dress. You’re so right bc the least little thing can mess up a beautiful outfit. That’s some good information. I would never even go to Walmart or grocery store if my nails & feet didn’t look taken care of. I’m very picky when it comes to good grooming. I checked the price on the pillow & WOW if I read it right it cost 200$ ? It said it can be bought with four payments of 49.99. I’ve been using the real silk pillow cases from Blissy for quite a few years. I never have wrinkles but I can see where that pillow would be great for my neck. I was reading about it. I might just have to invest in it for that reason bc I’m a side sleeper. Really enjoyed your video as always. One of the things was the big clunky black shoes it was so plain to see they just didn’t look right with that dress & the big purse. Keep on having a stylish time. You’re so good @ what you do. I bet you have the legs for them, tho. Not everyone does. She's right: they can cut you off in the widest part of your calf, and also make a short leg look shorter.
One workaround: wear them in a color close to your skin tone (not exactly --- you don't want to look naked, lol). It's a lengthening look.
If you have heavy calves, like I do, wear your capris a little shorter, so that the slimmer upper calf just below the knee shows.

Great suggestions and I agree. Yes, the two most embarrassing things I see are yes the bra straps and ill fitting bras and also the panty line showing through shorts and pants that are really too tight or small or very thin shorts. When I try on clothes I look in my full length mirror and I use a hand held mirror so I can see the back of me just to make sure as you say everything is fitting correctly and if it’s not, I’ll send that piece of clothing back ir return.

I have a black tie optional Sunday evening wedding coming up in late October. The ceremony & cocktail hour are outside, and we are in NJ. Women are asked to wear floor length or formal cocktail dresses. It may be hot, it may be cold. Oy. Not looking forward to planning dresses for that, as I do need to buy something new as I have lost 20 pounds (so far) since the last time I had to wear a formal dress.

Excellent advice!!! I am loving on your tips and style. My favorite tip is shapewear! Get a great Bra and lower body foundation and it immediately upgraded your outfit! You can make an inexpensive outfit look sensational with a bra that holds the girls up and lower body foundations. Doesn’t have to be the upscale brands, JCP, Kohl’s, Belk, even Walmart has great pieces. Once you get used to wearing them, you won’t want to be without them. Loved the stepmom look! You knocked it out of the park!

Thank you in so many ways! First for calling out the designer handbag when the outfit does not fit the outfit. How many times have I seen in the airport, shopping, etc that they have athletic wear, subpar sloutchy clothing and because they have a louie tote hanging off their shoulder they think they are lookin' great.... Tim Gunn mentioned it years ago. I am so glad you called it out again. Purse expensive or not must match the style of outfit. Just joined last week and love your channel. Cleaning out the dressing room. I also love my formed pillow, one of the best investments. Loved the shoes video on having the weight of the dress match the weight of the shoes. PLEASE if you haven't.....address women young and old that have clingy clothes that when they stand up the fabric is caught in their butt crack. One of my pet peeves. With a dress or skirt, a slip is always worn and alleviates that problem but a slip is always worn for the fall of the dress. Thanks again! You are marvelous! Hi Serena..that was a great video. I am not saying I do everything perfect, but I think that by watching you and other style utubers I do dress much better . My mother-in-law was also good to teach me about fit, as she was a seamstress before she decided to go to school for hair at the age of forty nine. I know she would say we have carried the casual thing too far. The last wedding we went to the bride and groom both looked so good...groom in a nice fitted suit, bride beautifully dressed . It was an outside wedding. The green dress, you showed would have been fine, but people turned up in shorts, sweatshirts, old jeans and sloppy oversized clothes. Also, the last few funerals have been the same. I saw a lady the other day wear a cold shoulder blingy top with long gym shorts. My pet peeve is people not ironing or steaming their clothes. You looked stunning in that dress you wore to your stepdaughter 's wedding. It was perfection. I have learned a lot , but one thing I was late coming to is the correct shoes. I used to love the strapoy higher heeled sandals. I love the ones you have. I am not sure I can wear some of them with bunions. I digress..the point I was trying to make is I used to wear black strappy shoes a lot. I thought it was the right shoes for most dressier occasions . I told someone that a neutral sandal will elongate your legs and make most outfits look better. she said she never heard that. 🙄 I would refer her to you, but I hear this statement a lot...I am at the age where I don't care. Rita, I totally agree with you. I'm all for comfort, but it really has gone too far. When people come to special occasions, even if it's a "casual" wedding, it's nothing but disrespectful to come dressed sloppy. You aren't showing respect for yourself or anyone else.

I am petite and slim. I love the panties which will not show through pants. Please do not wear too much jewelry or perfume. Best to be admired than glaring and smelly. Less is more! I have very dry skin like my mother had. Vasoline works as well as a high quality sun protection. Also a smile will lighten your mood and brighten your face.
