7M of those views actually came from me when I learned both pieces.
Lol! I'm muddling through Dowland on the Renaissance alto lute. One bar at a time . . . .
Such players should be mainstream.
🙏
Evangelina Mascardi... una grande musicista, didatta e inoltre, non scontato in questo mondo pieno di invidie e grettezza, una grande persona. Con decisa sensibilità interpretativa e sapienza esecutiva, anche Bach è Donna. Thank you Evangelina!❤🎵
Grazie mille cara Chiara!
Evangelina is absolutely fantastic. I don't know how many times I have listened to her playing Bach...she is one with her lute and the music beautifully streams through her.
Thanks Brandon for these awesome interviews. 🙏
If you listen carefully, the cultural differences are apparent. Here in the United States, we tend to analyze these issues - such as nails, no nails etc. - to the n-th degree. (Look at some of the chat boards about intense equipment preoccupations . . . .) Conversely, I hear Evangelina Mascardi making an argument for a more holistic approach and finding your voice with the instrument and leaving these preoccupations aside. In any event, this is a wonderful interview and, Brandon, you have a great RUclips channel. Your hard work is an invaluable resource and is appreciated!
I don't think this is particularly a cultural difference, more so a difference in perspective or priority.
Seeing so much Lute Content going mainstream so amazing! We are living Julian Bream’s dream!
oh yes!
I found those two videos a couple of years ago, and loved them, the 997 in particular. Such a beautiful combination of composer and performer.
Evangelina is a great artist and an hard worker... she spent all her life to reach the perfection on her instrument ... discover her music and performances! I'm so proud to be a friend of her!
This was pure gold. Evangelina is a wonderful artist whose music I immensely enjoy. Thank you for this interview, Brandon. It was very informative and interesting. I look forward to you doing many more!
Thanks for listening!
Evangelina is the best! Good job to both!
grande Peppe

Super interview, and what a great artist-- Mascardi has so many interesting things to say here.
What an amazing talented lady, how can you not love somebody with that much passion for her music!!!!
We need to love what we do!
Thanks Brandon to interview our great Eva!! 🤩 Superstar and incredible artist is a must in you super channel. Viva Argentina and the lute!
gracias Sebas!
Presti and Lagoya's Music For The Classic Guitar is my all-time favourite classical guitar record and for sure the sound is superb.
One of the best interviews that I saw, thank you!
❤
She is a great artist!!! She transmitted passion playing music, 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
❤️grandissima artista e meravigliosa maestra Evangelina
🙏
Brandon, thanks for this rich and interesting interview with Evangelina - she's an obviously wise teacher and player. As a guitar student, I appreciated so many of her musical and technical suggestions - like the way she conceives of the weight and energy of her right hand on the strings. Also - how she maintains her sense of self quite independent of what others think about her or her playing (RE: the world of people's comments on RUclips videos). Keep up the excellent work!
Eccellente. Complimenti Evangelina per la tua splendida arte❤
grazie mille
Bellissima intervista piena di curiosità. Evangelina è di grande ispirazione.
A great musician and teacher! she is a wonderful researcher and really good at making the best of the world of ancient music!❤
thanks a lot Sarah
Bravissima Evangelina, al momento uno dei Bach che ascolto più volentieri ❤
❤
Really an inspiring and passionate storytelling. Thank you very much Evangelina! 🙏
🎉
A great misician, teacher and person!!!!!
What an original idea, thanks !
Hola Brandon! Felicitaciones por la entrevista. Muy buena! Evangelina es una artista genial. Por fin su manera de hacer música es conocido. Saludos!
Love women who not only enjoy playing music, but are also empowered by it ❤❤
great!
OK, I'll say it. I LOVE Evangelina Mascardi! Of course I thought she was my discovery when she popped up on my feed. Then my wonderful teacher Isabella Abbonizio (another pal of Frederic Zigante, BTW) told me to check her out. It was like walking into the Barnes and Noble bargain annex on lower Broadway in the late '70s and hearing Eugen Dombois playing Bach on the baroque lute for the very first time. Evangelina makes this old hobby guitarist very happy!
Maravillosa entrevista a ésta gran intérprete. Te felicito.
🙏🙏🙏💕
Evangelina, wonderful musician! ❤
❤
Lute is a wonderful instrument with beautiful music, I hope more people are exposed to it so they too can enjoy it.
I was lucky enough to be a student of Evangelina Mascardi for almost 4 years.
The amount of information and ideas I got from her were foundational for my development as a musician, and forged the way I think about classical guitar and performance, in and out the ancient music repertoire.
I have met her far before she “became viral”, and what I learned from all this story it’s that when you’re good and aware of what you are doing, you’ll reach what we call “success”. And that was as well another great lesson I got from her, and life.
🙏
Thank you so very much, Brandon, for this outstanding interview. It's not often we get a chance to hear so extensively, albeit informally, a great musician unfold her blend of philosophy, technique, and musical understanding. Everything Evangelina Mascardi has shared with us is to be pondered, dreamed upon, and our own musicality weighed against it. This is how one grows!
thanks a lot
A great woman and a greatest artist ❤
I own a lute and badly wanna learn it but this is the hardest instrument ive ever tried learning the tablature is insane to understand, and theres so little online about it and then how theres different types of lutes
step by spet!
W il liuto! W la musica! Listening to lute music, ultimately, makes it a better world. Thank you for making me happy!
Grazie
FANTASTICO!
As a harmonica player idk why I'm here but I'm enjoying every second of the video. ❤ Thanks
❤
Very interesting hear about these topics from Evangelina Msscardi's point of view! A great musician,
thank you!
🎉
Bellissima intervista, Evangelina artista vera

She is wonderful artist, musician and person!❤
🙏
Super Nice interview. Evangelina Mascardi a great musicien, teacher and human being. ❤️
❤
Always so inspiring ❤
Congrats! Great interview, with lots of tasty and important subjects covered with sensitiveness.
As a matter of fact, Evangelina is an outstanding player and teacher.
I had the fortune of having her as my student in her last period as a guitar player, and during her transition to baroque guitar and lute. Those 3 -4 years were of great work, where she showed, despite of being a 17 years old girl, a huge amount of talent, determination and flexibility. I am very proud and happy of her great career and enormous and well deserved achievements. And very thankful to Brandon because of your great work!❤
The best!
🙏💕
I love her playing.
Thanks a lot
Thank you!
Very nice interview, i really apreciate it!!
❤
Here I am a luthier in the beginning, to self-build the lute and interpret Weiss, and also to be the luthier in my region, and bring the renaissance of this instrument that comes with force!... Greetings Friends!! , Good work.
🎉
Grande profesora!
🙏
Collaboration!! Please!! Wonderful interview!
Una dea della musica antica❤️❤
Bravissima!!! 👏🏻
Gracias
Very interesting
Amazing musician and incredibly dedicated teacher! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻❤❤❤️
I love your loot videos, and the sound of these instruments. I think it would be great if you would create a sample VST or two of several historic, pluck string instruments. It would be a great value to those of us who have not got access to the real thing.
Very nice!
" Bach the original Rock Star " !!!
😎
THE MASTER OF LUTE FACE IS HERE!!!
😂
Evangelina is so good.
💕
✌
If lute can become actually viral, is due to Evangelina Mascardi, one of the most comprehensive musicians nowadays.
Thanks a lot
1:02:50❤
Questa è una cosa importante.
❤❤❤
Nice 👍🏼
Bravissima!!
🙏
The moral of the story is, the key to going viral is simplified complexity
That "silly" was cute though

Thank you for listening!
@@evangelinamascardiofficial4766 Grazie a Lei, Signorina Mascardi! Lei e una vera meraviglia del mondo del liuto di oggi! Sto aspettando con impazienza l'uscita del CD di Weiss. Calorosi saluti dall'Ungheria!
This woman is a goddess

I believe nails for playing guitar didn't become standard until the late 19th-early-20 century. I believe Tarrega played without nails.
I think the phenomenon of 99% of people playing with nails is a very modern phenomenon post-segovia.
Many 19th century guitarists played without nails. Both techniques have co- existed happily since at least 1600 to the 1900s.
@@brandonacker Yes. When I first began playing in the early 1960s (at the ripe old age of 11), there was still a lot of talk about the "old-timers" who used to play with just their fingertips, and people were close to baffled how they could do it. Segovia's silvery tone, really a function of his fingertip shapes and the quality of his guitar, convinced people that nails, carefully trimmed and tended to were vastly preferable. Segovia was a very big deal back then, as much due to his ubiquity as anything else. The John Willamses and David Russells and others hadn't yet appeared with their great technique and more careful attention to tempo.
Nothing like wathing two nerds going nerdy on their nerdiness,-´specially if you´re nerdy about that kind of nerdy nerdiness yourself.
35:49 can you just play another note😂??
😂
Unless there is some other version, the one I found is only 5.2mil views, not 8. 😂
5.2 million on one and 2.9 on another. Not to mention many other videos
@@brandonacker ❤ thanks
Intervista bellissima e stimolante. Grazie Brandon ed Evangelina 👏👏👏
As a non-artist, I clicked through the entire video and found no music. So, really? Give us examples of what you mean.
On my channel (which you are on right now) and Evangelinas channel ( linked in the description) you can watch countless hours of video performances for free of us playing. This is an interview, not a performance. Please do checkout the many free videos there if thats what you're interested in.
