      Bcs in this case eg is not degenrate thats why distortion occur

      Since eg not degenerate thus distortion possible if pairing energy is less than splitting of eg orbitals .

    Mam.. d8 complex to JTD show hi nhi krta hai, as their is no asymmetrically filled degenerate level... Or in other words no ectronic degeneracy... To fir Z out ya in kase ho gya

    First you told that there is no distortion in d8 case (4:10) then during the explanation of z- out distortion you gave d8 as an example also (12:09) ??
    pls clarify if i have misunderstood this.

      I think it might just have been a mistake as for the d8 case (both high and low spin) the number of electrons in the dx2 - y2 orbital were equal to the one for the dz2 orbital, so it wouldn't have displayed (Z-out) distortion. There are a few comments saying the same thing as well.
