      The Grodt album will forever be one point in history like first commercial Rap song, Sound of the Police, NWA, Tupac and so on. 50 took rap to a whole new worldwide level and even in Alaska they ld know his name when before rap always stayed an alternative art of music. It was everywhere.

    That album was crazy! I remember when it blew up, I was living in a fairly large city. 4 months later I moved to a town with 200 people and kids were blasting it on their boom boxes surrounded by potato fields. No idea what the lyrics were referring to but they were entertained nonetheless. And the MUSIC video? That sent it to the moon.

    First time I heard 50, was 01, one of my boys from NY left a mix tape in my car, Dj Clue, Terror Squad , Commom and there was this one track on there I didn’t know who it was .. the track was “How to Rob” with the madd rapper.. he dissed nearly every rapper out there .. it was one of the greatest/funniest tracks I heard..this was before he blew up.. 50 tight.. love from FLA to Australia man.. he the real deal gangster now business man..

    My parents talk about growing up in the golden era of hip hop. But I’m glad I grew up in the 50 era cuz getting to see that mans dominance was a sight to behold. It’s almost like 70% of rappers just stopped rapping til after ye dropped graduation then it was safe to come outside

    I recall on a bar Jay once said "I'm about a dollar, who the fuck is 50 cent?" This was before Em signed 50. Once that happened and 50's underground stuff started surfacing, Jay's tune changed. Then In The Club dropped and the rest was history.
