As a hiring manager, when I pull background checks if I see these arrests on their record they might as well keep on looking elsewhere for employment.

Not sure where you work as a "hiring manager," but in academia, at least, the stakeholder search committee has the final say on job candidates for faculty and professional staff appointments.

Worrying about crime, taxes, border and terrorism
Infectious disease and paying next month’s bills.
Saving for college and our own retirement
It's no wonder we drink, smoke, pray and pop pills.
