Maryka’s husband here …..,,,, what an incredible transformation of dull and boring into a piece of incredible aliveness and fantastic, exciting possibilities. And the choice of music just exquisite. Congratulations to Made by Marley. Once again an informative instructional video that leaves us wanting for more. Congratulations, Avram
How exciting that you are doing a project for the Annie/ IOD release! 🙌🏻. My first thought was ,” those inlays are quite bland…”. Ha! Not with Lel behind the paintbrush. That table when, you were finished , blew my mind. How did you get all that beauty from those simple inlays?!!! They couldn’t have picked a better artist to highlight the versatility of the product. I’m so happy for you and Martyn. And,btw, you did a great job filming yourself. But the lovely Martyn was missed! My lucky day…2 Made by Marleys in one week! 🙌🏻🥳🎉😘
Phew all I can say honestly is I'm relieved it's done. I struggled to come up with a concept and then when I did marty wasn't available for filming. I am so so grateful for marty as to how he made a video from my filming I have no idea.... So many times I was filming my feet... He put his music on it and I was amazed. The table is really so cute but my filming... Oh no never again.
If I could afford it, that table would already be packed up and on its way to me. Right at the top of my now very long list of my madebymarley favorites. I have always loved Bloomsbury style. If all of these products had been available 30 years ago, I would have turned the first Vermont house I lived in into a Bloomsbury shrine. I love the inlay, but it was the original way you used it along with your perfect Bloomsbury hand painted leaves that just made this table sing and dance. What a stunning jewel you've created. I've had to watch this on my tiny phone screen, so I'll watch it again later on my computer. Your colors, as always, luscious. It occurred to me watching you paint this that Bloomsbury long ago cracked open the door to BoHo, though I had no idea at the time. If you decide you like this, I would kill to see you go deeper into Bloomsbury. I know you'd be brilliant. Off subject a bit here: I searched for your Decked Out in Deco tutorial the other day, but was unable to find it. I don't think imagined it, but you never know . It was genius of AS & IOD to choose you to introduce the new inlay. They knew you would be the one to inspire all of us. I'm telling you, woman, do some more Bloomsbury of your own design. You're a natural. Love, love, love Elena ❤❤❤️❤️❤️
It was AS who asked for me, so I needed to do it justice. Your right it did open the door to that eclectic boho we all love. The video your looking for is bright yellow if that helps you find it.... As always your comment is treasured x x
You brought that inlay to life, full of colors and possibilities. I think the IOD sisters should get into a partnership with you to create that one of a kind inlay that anybody would know it's a Made by Marley object d'art 🎉
That is truly amazing...in a million years I wouldn't have looked at that inlay and come up with something so bright and fun...massive CONGRATULATIONS 🧡🧡🧡
I love how things that I look at and think “what am I supposed to do with that?” You see nothing but possibilities. And that simple not very exciting small piece of furniture, very ordinary, and you turned it in to my dream piece. I really love what you did. It’s absolutely incredible❣️❣️❣️
I always take a little time to do a small plan on what I'm going to do with my furniture. And by encouraging you to do the same can often make a huge difference. If I'm very honest I was really struggling to come up with one but I got there in the end. It was a very dull and incredibly boring piece when I started. Top tip Puck a small piece if you plan to do a lit of hand painting as its time consuming and you have less areas to cover and draw it out with chalk so you know its going to work x Lel x
I love all the doodles and how you incorporated them in to a serious looking set of portraits and outlines to give it a whimsical look while still making a solid statement. This is definitely work that you should be proud of! Love it! Love the color combinations too. Outstanding. ❤❤❤❤❤
Ok, you think so far out of the box that you are in a different time zone! I am amazed by how you used a bland design for a paint inlay and transformed it into a whimsical masterpiece. Just wow!
Dear Lel, When you first showed us the new Annie Sloan inlay I thought I would never pay nearly $50 for this one. I had no imagination of how I would be able to incorporate it into one of my pieces. But low and behold, you took this rather simple and colorless inlay and transformed it into something beautiful to behold. How perfect to design it in the Bloomsberry style fitting so well in Charleston House. What can I say that I haven't said after all of your demonstrations, I simply LOVE IT!!!! But I REALLY love this one, no doubt because I love how Charleston house is painted and decorated, and how your creation fits so well. Once again my hat goes off to you. You are a master creator. With love, Sydni **Post Script: Oh my, how can I not tell Martin how perfect his jazzy music went with his filming of your finished masterpiece. It was a grand choice! You guys make such a great team! And I just have to add one last thing, Lel, it is your turn to design an Inlay for IOD!!! How absolutely wonderful that would be!
If I'm honest my filming was terrible marty chopped it up added the fabulous music and it's now a good video. The table really is beautiful and it was so bland to begin with.... X x
So beautiful. I just love it. You put so much work in to your pieces! Sometimes I think when all is said and done, you must work for as little as $.50 an hour. I love the transfers, but I’m glad I saw your video I would’ve never dreamed of doing anything but black-and-white.
Not so much now Judy but when I started out I painted for way less than that.. I gave it time now I manage pieces in the background like base coating and things that I can go back to etc... Its all about time x x
I love this! You are so brave and so bold! I could you watch you paint all day. Please keep showing us different techniques, but I really like the colorful ones like this.
Are you the voice on “Brave” movie??? Only you could make that neutral/beige inlay become a spectacular artwork! Love the Timelapse paired with Jazzy music, and love the Flapper Saloon music at the end too. Martyn always finds incredible musical accompaniments!🎶🎶🎶 This bonus Tuesday video is a delightful jolt of joy! 👩🎨🎨🖌️💚

Your vision for use of the inlays on a blank palette is remarkable and your own touches complete the look so perfectly! Thank you for sharing your ideas and extreme talent! I just found you on my feed and my heart was in my mouth every time you peeled back the inlay! You are incredible with paint and a brush. Thanks for the stunning process and finished product. ❤

Wow. When I first saw the release I was thinking that it was too Neo Gothic for my taste (sorry Annie), but then I watched your video - what a lovely, happy, whimsical piece - especially with all your added details. I can really see the potential, when cutting the pieces apart can create a completely different style. Annie/IOD Sisters made an excellent choice in getting you to showcase this inlay. oh, cute outfit! Could I ask a question please? I notice you use the squeeze bottles for your paint. When the bottle is say, half full, does the paint get thicker in it? My paint collects oround the rim, dries up, and then little hard chunks fall into the paint. Do the bottles help? Do you use the 16 oz or the 32 oz more?
Deb, yes they absolutely do help. I used to suffer from what your talking about. Also using cans wasted paint for me as the lids got messy and then didn't close and my paint dried up quicker. The sauce bottles keep it fresh and like new even when there's only a small amount in the bottles. Also using them fills them twice from a can of AS which means no dirty crusty cans.... I can't recommend them enough. I get mine from a catering supplier and there cheap, I buy them in bulk. Hope this helps.... X x x
