  • More valuable than gold, Yarsagumba fungus is only found in the Himalayan mountains above 3,000 metres (10,000 feet).
    Every spring people come from miles around to search for the precious crop, which sells for more than $100 a gram across Asia and the US.

    I laughed at how ridiculous the title was at first but then cried when I watched the video. It was touching. People who never experienced having no food on the table will never understand but the hard work and effort this people do everyday just to go on living is incomparable. I wish them the best.

      you have got it wrong, the middle men are not the one who gains a lot the profit, the transportation fees and the danger they carry will not leave them with much of the profit. The people who make the most out of them is the ones who buy them abroad and make it into medicines which is sold for thousands of dollars.

      open source it's good thing they can speak languages from different countries. Why do you think Nepalis get job India? It's because most them knows hindi and they are hard working people.

    • @opensource7301
      @opensource7301 6 лет назад +4

      first of,i am not against any language or person speaking other languages other than their own primary language. I raised the issue here because the lady was speaking very poor hindi which made the story/video less informative, had she used Nepali,her first language like the guy who spoke in clear Nepali, her story would have been much clearer to viewer.
      secondly most of the nepalis understand hindi and are honest hard working people but your question here gives me the impression that this story/video was done in India, which was not.

      @grinfacelaxu 6 лет назад

      lalit Sharma Nepali speaks Nepali language untill and unless it is required to speak Hindi but I think it is deliberately motivated them to speak Hindi may be by documentary making team. Hindi language may be dominant on most parts of South Asia but not on Nepal not even on Terai region of Nepal though mostly Nepali people can understand and speak somehow Hindi language. Generally we speak Hindi here at Nepal if we get to know other is Indian or the only language both can understand is Hindi. The one who is facing interview is neither Indian nor her mother tounge Hindi. So it is not natural choice of language on conversation. Hope this will not give misinformation to world that people at Himalayas of Nepal can speak and understand Hindi proficiently it may bring trouble mainly to Indian visitors because sometimes we can face situation even with the people who can not communicate properly on Nepali language too. It is not my objection on language used but a surprise. And I dont believe on forced dominance and also don't respect pride of dominance but do respect natural dominance.

    • @rd-gr3xx
      @rd-gr3xx 6 лет назад +1

      Laxmidhar Gautam How about if the interviewer only know hindi and english? Why do you expect a nepali did this interview? Should she have asked her to speak in nepali, then find someone who speaks both good nepali and good english to put it in front of an international audience and around 1 billion hindi understanding Indians? Does not seem like a good business idea.

    • @netprogamer1384
      @netprogamer1384 6 лет назад +2

      an Indian That doesn't mean that people should be forced to speak a language that they aren't good at . The producer team totally forced her to speak in Hindi , of that first dude spoke in nepali and they were able to translate it to English why not the same? They are just stupid . If Indians do wanna watch this show then the channel can just translate it to Hindi for them.

    • @rd-gr3xx
      @rd-gr3xx 6 лет назад

      Netprogamer /GOD/ lol why would Indians want to hear a translation when they can hear directly from her? India is a bigger market and so they would accede to the demand to increase their profits. I dont think she was forced to speak. They could have found, quite easily, others who speak hindi.
      Why do you assume the circumstamces remained the same in both the interviews? Why are you assuming both interviews occured around the same locality around the same time? There are far too many assumptions. Considering its really hilly area, I doubt they could find good english speakers. I knew that there were not the world's best colleges in Nepal, but I am disappointed.

There will always be men desperate enough to try anything, like the horns and tusks of animals. The latter have been proven to have no medicinal value at all. But there are fungi that do have effects.

      “Works” on what?!? Increasing libido?
      Anyways, I found a paper endorsed by a medical-governmental front of Uncle Sam. Cool enough? ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3924981

      Shirley pilger all modern medicine and drugs are extracted from herbs you moron. Of course it’ll work. Only problem is that you can’t patent herbs in their natural form so no business in treating people with herbs.
