Your story is truly inspiring. After breaking up with the kind of guy u described above... I'm going to start testing and not settling. It hurt to break up w my boyfriend. (I really liked him) but overtime he turned me off with his insecurities, neediness and lack of authenticity. I felt like I was in a relationship w myself!! (No input from him. Everything I wanted to do was okay. If I messed up he didn't stand up to me) I couldn't continue to grow as a person with him by my side. Anyways, that's my two cents. It's not easy to break up. Nice guys don't get no action at all or relationships because, they have a low self esteem, always doubt themselves when people put them down and when they do get a relationship it's when the girl is 100 lbs overweight with three kids from two different men who were known scumbags and the guy ends up giving up and being the "hero". Assertive guys get laid and relationships but, know how to stand up for themselves the right way and don't go overboard with insults, threats, and violence like this other guy.

Great video once again Corey! The movies and SONG are so emotional and misleading in the ways of love. They teach this method. I have been learning to act the way you have been teaching but i have so many ingrained bad habits that are taking along time to get rid of.
i also think men and women need to complement each other and by that i mean they are balanced out - a balanced out couple. There is usually the outspoken person and the one who think's she wears the trousers but when it comes down to a crisis, its the man usually who steps up because he can take his emotional thoughts out of his head and do what needs to be done. When everyone is freaking out and you are not - you are in control and more able to give out support to others - and i find that is what men are usually are good at (I'm not saying women can't) but men are usually good at this sort of thing. So again, in relationships they balance each other out - what one lacks the other makes up for making them an interesting couple. theres no harm in being nice. no i mean, kind. Being nice is a choice and we all learn that being nice means you get shat on so we toughen ourselves up. Did anyone here see that atrocious movie Trainwreck? What Corey is saying is so present in that movie. The guy gets in trouble for something and the chick runs off and he has to chase her. This is an essential ingredient of a movie a conflict must emerge and it must be resolved and if the movie relates to men and women i.e. a romance movie or a romantic comedy the woman and man have a fight and the woman runs off and the guy has to chase after her.

Yup. It's another case of how wrong it is to assume that just because a man's masculinity isn't toxic and overbearing, it means he's not a man. i would like to go after a nice girl. if there are even any.
no guys have ever come back and said or begged me to take them back. If they had, i might have been able to forgive them and it would give me closure for sure and a sence of power over them too but an ex is an ex for a reason - As you say your friend might be a friend and you dont want to see him alone and hes coming to you for help but there is no point in setting him up again and again if hes just going to come out with these things. He wants to keep a girl? Hes got to look to his attitude and how he treats the ones he is with.
+Daimonon what im saying is if you are going back to an ex and basically saying take me back that person who you want them to say yes to means you would feel a sense of power over them whether you are a bitch to them or not, but if that happens how you choose to handle yourself is crutial - i dont think id be nasty to them, i might think more of them for appoligising if thats why they were there but to go back to an ex it is a form of begging, no - powershifting and some people wont do that because its putting themselves in a position to possibly be rejected.

Ive done it, because in my head i just think if im not prepared to do that i could loose someone i love dear - and i have been hurt and my ego and pride have taken a beating but i think if this is to end then even after all this that ive done my part - that i just didnt let them walk, but i think if you truely love someone you could never be nasty to them even if i had moved on, but thats just me..

I agree in most of what is said here, but Obama, a warcriminal, a nice guy? And "weak" in his foreign policy..? Perhaps he should engage in even more wars to proove his masculinity. What is said aboat politicians that get to the top is right, and that goes for Obama as well.
Yup. It's another case of how wrong it is to assume that just because a man's masculinity isn't toxic and overbearing, it means he's not a man. Obama clearly shows off Mrs. Obama and lets her shine on her own as she's her own woman...that is masculinity at its best. Obama was not intimidated by his wife's intellect (the most educated First Lady in America's history). It made him step up. Plus, she had a promising career but took a step back so his could thrive and she took care of the family. We all know this - I think Corey's got something else against them but that's a topic for another day.
But then fast forward to today - this current president and his wife- we assume that is the ideal form of masculinity and a relationship? His masculinity is reckless and insecure and pretty much nonexistent. You pull back the curtain and he's so small. I really wish men would understand this incorrect way of thinking. If men/society knew how to balance masculinity and how it's projected, and perhaps accepting that there isn't one version of it, there possibly wouldn't be a feminist movement for them to whine/complain about.
