Like it couldn’t get any more crowded
As an American, I surfed South Straddie back in 1995. I spent a month on the Gold Coast and by far, SS had the best beach break barrels. Even snapped my board. We also ignored the shark warning sign paddling across the channel and freaked out during the paddle only to find that a boat service was running on the way back for like a buck. All in all, the best part of my visit (Duranbah was a close second).

Worst thing about that paddle is when a trawler comes in just as your in the middle of the channel. Plus side best beach break on the east coast
And you wanna paddle in front of it, because fuck paddling behind it! So it's always a race. Still, I've never seen one in the seaway.
what about the time i cut my wrist on a sharp bit of rock climbing down before paddling back just before dark...trying to keep my arm out the water ( dripping blood!)....and a trawler goes past!....my mates just hammered off on me yelling ' you'll never make it'...' your paddling in circles'....' just accept your fate' ...they thought it hilarious...It was like paddling across with fresh steak tied to my feet...i was shitting it ..nearly dark....I ended up having to get stitches in my wrist at Southport emergency...
HECK YES... AWESOMENESS... PLUS STEPH GILMORE SUPAAA RIPPER and one my top favorite female SURFERS make this a great show I will definitelyyy re-re-rewaaatch more than ten times...
