I worked at a restaurant in the early 80s. One of our bar managers would get off work @ 1AM. Everyone said she would get stoned and watch MTV till morning. Back then is was only one music video after another. At the beginning, with no commercials.
One thing great about the Internet is that you can live in the past and not have to watch the new garbage on today. When I have kids they’re going to think we’re living in the 80s, hell maybe the 50s.
MTV used to show nothing but popular music videos during the 1980's and 90's. MTV was like RUclips during the 80's. People would spend hours watching videos on MTV. Those music videos were eventually replaced with cheap reality shows and rap music videos. I'm sure that's why MTV lost most of their audience.
Now that Kennedy works for Fox News, I, m scared that I, ll watch Headline News and instead of seeing Anchor hottie Robin Meade, Pauly Shore will be doing the news.
Enzo Ferrari well said! I always hated the divided feeling of the teams of rap vs. rock back then. It was a completely ridiculous but very real thing back then much like segregation must have been like. If you ever tried to approach the b-boys or “rappers” they looked at you like you farted before you even got a chance to open your mouth no less open a dialogue and heaven forbid if you mentioned to the metal-heads or “heshers” that you liked the Run DMC cover of “Walk This Way” you would get called a trader and have to endure a barrage of racist slandering! Oh; and “Sabotag!” You’re it! Just making phun of your typo because I’m still a petty, immature, relatively easily amused thirteen year old little punk inside, just so you know...
This is the good corner of RUclips! The Eighties was the best decade ever!
Wow, back then Steve Stevens was only rumoured to play on Dirty Diana. Great days. Thanks for the upload
she was hot ! miss the fun crazy look girls had in the 80s
I miss MTV from back then. I pretty much stopped watching it in 1992. I was glued to it in 1983 when my family first got cable.
Me too!
I second that ... you must be a GenX'er.
Same here! I know I’m late. Lol

Julie was one of the dancers on Top of the Pops from 1981 to 1983.
She was also a world disco dancing champion

Damn skippy bruh. My grandson is going to be brainwashed by 80’s culture. 🤣
Hillarious when she says we are gonna play music from back in time, she is in 1987, she is back in time.
I've had a crush on DTJB for over 3 decades!!!

theres nothing wrong with rap videos. people like rap music, deal with it. you sound like you only want white bands on there.
Most of the Rock videos were boring as fuck anyway.
