  • Hi !
Today I got two songs requested after seeing the video me and my son recorded on our ‪@TaunT_RUclips‬ channel. Mockingbird got us in a heated discussion and I am pretty sure that this video will raise some discussion too. And that is okay, as long as you stay civil and nice you can put your thoughts in the comments.
I did "Cleaning out the closet" and "Headlights" because imo they kinda belong together.
I WILL PUT IN TIME STAMPS LATER
Being a mom and also a mental health professional , this was not an easy one to react to.
Let me know what you think and let me know what to react to next.
And thank you for all the love and support here, on our TaunT channel, on my insta and especially on our Patreon. I am not monetized here and our Patrons make it possible for us to keep on bringing out content.
    xoxo
    MommaTaunT
"Although on the TaunT channel I do already reaction videos, it was time to do some solo as well. Over here I can choose myself (at TaunT I never know what is coming) and I can go deeper into the lyrics from a mental health perspective . I will primarily react as a mom but I am also bringing my years as a psychotherapist and mental health counselor on the table"
Most of all, I would love to react to all kinds of music and hope you will offer suggestions for songs you think I need to react to DM me on instagram.

Eminem is raised in a extreme bad way. His uncle was his only friend but he killed himself. Em was alone and bullied. His mother did give him pills and drugs. But Em is the one that says everything. Em was when he became famous sued by his mother but also by his childhood bully. Thanks for the reactions. If you whant to know what he made for Kim. His song for kim is Eminem - Bad husband ruclips.net/video/8ACMtDdtH8U/видео.html
PS: His mother isn't 100%. So she did bad thing because she was sick in the mind.

Like the song or hate the song, it is a very important one when understanding Eminem as an artist or taking the journey through his music. This is why his fans are so diehard. He let us into his world and we feel like we went through it with him. Some people were actually going through the same things and others just feel closer to him by knowing what is going on with him personally.

I think one of the things that makes Eminem great in all the world is that he recounts a part of many people's lives that no one wants to see... but once you listen to the song you feel identified and at the same time connected with him... ..I had a wonderful mother.....but she didn't have a good mother.....I remember the first time I made her listen to this song.....she fell in love with Eminem..... a 50-year-old woman...rather conservative...from a small Latin American country (she knew how to speak English) her eyes filled with tears and I will never forget what she told me..." I really admire what he does... not everyone has the courage to talk about something like that" from that moment on, every time Eminem appeared in a video or on TV, she called me to tell me to watch it. ...I miss her so much...and ironically every time I listen to Eminem I feel connected to my mother.....

Strange. Similar story here. Great mom, drunk grandma. I think we identify with the words because, although the pain of having to forgive so much is unfamiliar, the unconditional love is still constant. The unbreakable bond. No matter what parents do, they will always be a part of their children's lives, even after they're gone. I can't even imagine growing up not knowing mine.

When someone abuses you they don't have any right to decide how or what's appropriate for how you he and process what happened. He also talked about his trauma and pain from his most vulnerable times, as a abused kid, proof died in his arms, rehab. He helped so many heal and talk about their past to became healthy people.

But this is what makes him so wonderful. He puts it all out there, no matter how ugly it is. He lays his heart down for all to see and hear. Because he does this, people can relate and in turn, feel less alone in the world. He’s a beautiful person and he admits he hasn’t been perfect but, what he is, is honest and heartfelt. Sometimes that’s what people need to get through the day. Personally I am very thankful that he never made Cleanin Out My Closet and kept it to himself. If he did, we wouldn’t be able to see this transformation and this incredible act of forgiveness. It just wouldn’t be the same Eminem. Rick Rubin has said that, great art makes you question yourself and might make you a little uncomfortable. This is what Em has done since he entered the scene and that’s why he is so amazing and so loved. He truly is an artist.

I remember this song when I was 13... Couldn't relate to it, because I had good parents, but I still liked his music.

Rap was made to showcase their life not to make life imitate the art. Rap has always been attempted to silence because the middle class didn't want to listen to the violence happening in lower class. Eminem brought this music to the middle class. It isn't to glamorise violence, it's to showcase that people are suffering and they need to express it rather than keep it in.

Eminem came up in the rap scene as a battle rapper so taking a shit on someone in a song is literally what he does and how he made a living. I know going through my late teens and my 20s I had a lot of rage in me and in my early 30s which I am now (and also when he wrote Cleaning Out My Closet) I still have that rage although I feel like I'm finally starting to calm down I can see how a man who grew up under those conditions with his parents and constantly getting his ass kicked by other kids in the neighborhood and at school would result in a person who becomes very efficient at verbally destroying you (Mariah Carey got dissed so hard she never said another goddamn word). Plus now he's older and had more life experiences to where he was finally able to get to a place where he could think and reflect on it without immediate hate. I'm not sure what direction I was going to take this comment in, but I at least wanted leave something to think about when placing those two songs in context.

"Cleaning Out My Closet" came out in 2002 and "Headlights" came out in 2014. He grew a lot as both an artist and as a human being in 12 years. He nearly died from an overdose in 2007, and missed Christmas, which is also Hailie's birthday. If he had arrived at the hospital less than 2 hours after his overdose, he wouldn't have made it. And he has been sober since April 20, 2008, and has matured, personally and lyrically, a lot since his sobriety. His near-death experience definitely changed his life perspectives and he acted on them.

I love your reaction and your analysis, and that you can go into your thoughts deeper here. :) Yeah, putting too much of his life out there is a difficult question, because I firmly believe ( and he has said so) that his music is his therapy - he *needed* to make those angry songs, at the time. But it also destroyed any privacy that he and his family had, and he didn't expect that (at first).
In Headlights, he says "to this day we remain estranged" - and that came out in 2013. So I think he actually does not have much contact with her, he said "I'll always love you from afar" - I think it's a case of forgive but not forget. And since she is still a drug addict, and he's been sober since 2008, I don't think it's possible for them to actually have a relationship. Correct me if I'm wrong.
With Kim, on the other hand, he really is on friendly terms with now, as far as we know. At first for the girls' sake, I guess.
But he's also been careful not to put new details of his personal life in his music for a while now, so that he/they have more privacy nowadays.

5:52 IM GLAD YOU MENTIONED THIS,
obviously you dont know the ins and outs let alone all of them about eminem or his life or etc. But im not sure if you did his song soldier, i recommend a mashup with "write it down" first thing youll find if you type all that in youtube ,
BUT point being is HE DESPERATELY wanted to keep MOST of this private, his daughters life his past w kim, his mom, but yeah his mom tried to flng SUE him like, i mean the SECOND he got a real taste of money like. Id say likely, ever.. she BLASTED HIMPUBLICLY ALL OVER THE PLACE before this happened
Kim did the EXACT SAME THING TOO
I def think that excuses em at least gives him a reason, we might not all agree, but i dont think these songs would exist nor do i think he ever wouldve called them out, certainly not so hard. Yeah this song was ROUGH coming out....
No one had shit to say for once😮

If it's ok to abuse your kid it's ok for the kid to expose it to everyone. Otherwise what does that mean, that the parent is ashamed? Then don't do abuse. Also, this would mean kids should get abused and keep silent, which is the opposite of what's usually advised, for the kid to talk to someone about it.

With all due respect because I understand your opinion this is not a matter of condoning or not. Eminem grew up without a father a horrible mother a wife who cheated on him. And still I meant to say this in mockingbird. His nieces live with him. Because he adopted them after he found out their parents did drugs. He has been clean for over 15 years so he knows what kind of affect that will have om children
