this is the best movie ever...it has drama, suspense, romance, comedy, great acting, the whole package. I first saw it when I was a very little girl with my parents at the drive-in, and loved every minute of it. I've watched it as many times as possible since, and can't wait to see it again.
To everyone with the comments on the name of the movie, 'The African Queen' is the name of the steam-boat that the characters ride on for most of the movie. It doesn't refer to any person in the movie. So if we could all leave our hyper-sensitive comments to ourselves, or at least read the trailer description and not jump to conclusions first, that would be nice. Kaythanksbye.
There's a short video of the "Modern Africa Queen" :-) on my video-site on youtube, under Speak Swahili, Dammit! This old boat has seats salvaged from a Boeing 707 which crashed into Lake Victoria. It's a venerable vessel, moored at Wag Hill near Mwaza. It reminds me so much of the old Queen!

To those criticizing Bogart here, the American Film Institute ranked Bogart as the greatest male star in the history of American cinema so who really cares what you think.
It's worth noting, in the current context, that the African Queen was the name of Bogart's boat in the movie. It wasn't Kate's nickname. But hey, what the hell, she can be my Queen.
i like glamor with couples like Rogers and Astaire; and I like adventure with guys like Errol Flynn. I like spectacle with flicks like Gone With The Wind. But there's something about this love story about with a grubby drifter and a spinster. It rules
@Dramactica That was my point. He has a more powerful persona than Bogart. I love em' both though. I'm just saying Wayne is a stronger presence on screen. Nothing to do with acting talent.
Bogar doesn't catch up with Brando's talent. The only reason why the Academy awarded Bogart is because he was old and haven't won any Oscar in his career, whereas Brando was new, since Streetcar was his second film (Legend vs. Rookie, it's obvious), and of course, they didn't want a film with four acting awards. So in my opinion, Streetcar is the only film to won 4 acting Academy Awards and Brando has 3 overall. Bogart is not bad, but I think he's overrated.
@CaponeKing Ever seen One Eyed Jacks? Rio in that movie could kick the shit outta Bogart. John Wayne would kick the shit outta both of em' though. He's a real mean motor scooter.
