- Install Cloudera Quickstart VM in VirtualBox. We will discuss how to download & run the cloudera quickstart Virtual machine for Hadoop and bigdata and install in virtualbox.
This cloudera image is also suited for MacOS users. Now run Hadoop & other big data tools like Hive, Spark, Oozie, Kafka & lot more in your local machine

I cannot use the link to download Cloudera. It shows that the certificate has expired on Saturday, July 4, 2020 at 5:00:00 AM Pacific Daylight Time. And, I cannot find other links to download the Cloudera VM on my Mac. The link provided in the documentation requires me to enter some command in the Linux terminal, but I want to install it on Mac. Could you please help?
Hey Emma you can accept the certificate, and the image is easily downloadable. I thing we wanna add this image is only made for virtual box it can't be used with any other hypervisor.

1) ..MP-Bios bug: 8254 timer not connected to IO-APIC
Kernel panic - not syncing: IO-APIC + timer doesn't work! Boot with apic=debug and send a report. Then try booting with the 'noapic' option
Solution: I am trying to fix this with uncheck the "Enable I/O APIC" but got some errors from the Oracle VM:
2) Invalid settings detected
When i started the Cloudera machine, it ran, but stopped at the beginning when there's a white line.
I waited for a long time, but there was no respond.
Can u help me to solve this?

Hey! Yes you can simply use cloudera vm as it's a low scaled and less resource consumption machine having all the feature & tool similar to HDF sandbox

This is because might be virtualization is disabled in your system. Go in Task Manager & look for virtualization , in case it is disabled then go in bios setting.
And ENABLE Virtualization from bios while restarting the machine

Kindly check your virtualization, it should be enabled. If that is disabled kindly enable it from bios setup during bootup. This is the error we got at that point of time

Hey Patricio, to solve this you need to set the yum.repos.d file inside the /etc with the nameserver value

If it's 4GB - Try to give it 2.5 GB approx and don't run anything other than VM

Make sure you have map-reduce service running & look for the code in case service is running
@@REGexSoftware I sorted it out, the java version they were providing was outdated. So I had to reinstall java SE 1.8 for the same and it worked.
