I enjoy how thourought you are in your videos taking into account the events of the match to scale a fighter. But when it comes to the second Apollo fight I think it is worth mentioning him that Apollo dominates the match and does well at avoiding and landing hits on Rocky. Both commentators and his coach point out it would be simple to win by keeping away but he refuses in order to prove he is the better slugger. Apollo was the stronger fighter while Rocky had the stronger body. His loss is due to wanting to prove he can beat Rocky by KO and no longer using the footwork. So while I agree Rocky is probably stronger in Rocky III once he has both a body stronger than Appollo and technique close to him, I think in Rocky II he was still notably superior to Rocky and loss due to refusing to win by points to avenge his honor.
There is no scenario in which Adonis has the slimmest of chances to beat Apollo. Adonis's style is tailor made for Apollo. Stick and move into a KO by the 8th.
I'm curious where you got the description for the first Creed movie, as I can't find one that mentions his strength anywhere. Most just don't have it mentioned in the description, which would lead me to believe that it was talking more about his character than his physical strength.
The main issue ( with the description ) is that "saw the same determination and strength" doesnt LITERALLY mean it, its a phrase. Second of all, almost everything here is circumstantial at BEST. Rocky ( at least in the communites ive been in ) have generally come to the consensus that the movies are wildly inconsistent. Rocky statement to adonis ( aswell as most if not all trainer statements ) can be outright disregarded as they ( in the rocky universe ) are shown over and over again exaggerate to sell their point and if you rewatch all the scenes of these statements with the context youll understand what i mean. Apollo has more feats, better solid statements ( ones that arent exaggerated for dramatic affect or hype ), more skill and more experience. Apollo > adonis low-mid diff in his prime
Nah. People say "evolution of the sport" as if that's a significant thing. Like sure. People are bigger nowadays, and have access to training, knowledge etc but people were built different back in the 70s. Fighters were way more conditioned and mentally stronger than boxers now. Competition was way higher in the 70s heavyweight division, and it bred better fighters. This isn't present in modern heavyweight division or the division in creed. So I completely disagree with the "boxing has changed" idea. Any of the big 3 of the 70s would demolish any modern heavyweight, save for maybe Tyson Fury or Usyk.
I never saw Adonis moves fast like Apollo he just be boxing he don’t got nun fancy about his fighting style like Apollo and rocky has I love Adonis he a strong boxer but his style is basic compared to rocky, Apollo, and clubber lang
Apollo was already the greatest prior to fighting Rocky. No one came close. He was already a declining older boxer when the first fight with Rock came around, and that took all of Rock to even be close with an aging Creed.
If we are talking Adonis Creed in Creed 1 vs Apollo Creed, Apollo Creed mops the floor with Adonis Creed. If we are talking Adonis Creed in beginning of Creed 2, Adonis Creed would be on par with Apollo Creed. If we are talking Adonis Creed at the end of Creed 2, he mops the floor against Apollo Creed and Clubber Lang. Why? Because Viktor Drago is nearly on par with Rocky 4 Ivan Drago and Rocky 4 Ivan Drago easily destroyed Apollo Creed. To be fair though, Apollo Creed was not in his prime unlike in Rocky 1 and 2. But, even if he was in his prime, Apollo Creed still would probably not beat Ivan Drago. So it depends on which Apollo Creed and which Adonis Creed.
@@WORKSbaby Apollo wasn’t Ivan Drago size, but Apollo started as a heavyweight so he’s naturally bigger. That, and cause Adonis was like 205 or something and Apollo was 220.
Yea your cap on this post cause saying that is basically saying Adonis can beat rocky and rocky lost to Apollo yea thumbs down on this video if Apollo taught rocky how to beat clubber lang what makes you think Apollo couldn’t beat clubber lang, lang would’ve lost if Apollo got back in the ring and only reason Apollo lost to drago age has sumthin to do with it but the real reason is cause he didn’t train hard enough for the fight he didn’t take it seriously he didn’t know drago would’ve been that strong also it was a exhibition so he didn’t know he was gone be killed, if rocky fought drago without training the way he did first fight he would’ve died as well rocky had prep time he knew how drago fought after seeing Apollo die by his punches, say you don’t know nothing about Apollo without saying you don’t know about Apollo.
Old school fighter doesn't beat a new school one. Skill wise boxing is more deeper now. If you watch rocky movies fights most of them is just hitting to the death. Apollo is good at footwork though, but adonis is slicker over all. Accolade and achievements wise Apollo did better and encounter more, but Apollo vs Adonis... man I hate to say but Adonis beats him
That’s because they’re movies. They aren’t supposed to be accurate since that depends completely on the actors. By that logic, Mason Dixon would beat Rocky since the actor was a world champ.
Of Course Michael B Jordan is going to say Adonis would win. That is the character he played so there is going to be biased there. Plus Michael B Jordan directed Creed Not Rocky. Unless Sylvester Stallone said it the argument is not valid. Really Rocky is the only one you could argue is better then Creed. Yes in His Prime Apollo would beat Drago He was 44 when he fought Drago that is really old for a boxer and Apollo wasn’t training like it was a title fight Drago was. Apollo lasted 15 rounds with Rocky and was ahead on points in the second fight Clubber Lang got gassed out in the 3rd round because he had no endurance.
I think Adonis could beat Rocky for the same reasons he beats Apollo. Adonis physically superior to Apollo in every way and has studied his fighting style, but was trained by Rocky. Meaning he fights like a mixture of both (mostly Rocky though) & knows how to counter them. He's also not too far off from Rocky's inhuman constitution in the way he can take hits and remain standing, continue fighting with severe injuries & pain and get up from knock outs as if he were resuscitated. The only thing that goes to Rocky is his superior constitution (achieving greater feats of toughness than Adonis); there's also the fact his prime physicality isn't too inferior to Adonis. Which would make it a very long and brutal fight where Rocky would mainly trade blows while Adonis constantly reads the hell out of him and wins by unanimous decision if he doesn't lose the Endurance battle.
I don’t see Adonis even gettin close enough to Apollo. And he couldn’t do enough damage to really put Apollo out even if he got inside. Apollo low diffs!
@@CRISIS_COMICS of course. You kno I gotta get my thoughts out before hand lol. Was a good video tho. Most everything I agree with like usually, except for the downplay of Rocky stating he felt like time beat Apollo more so than anything.
An interesting way to view that statement is that if Apollo had more time with a young body, he could've trained to surpass Rocky and Ivan. Perhaps learning from Rocky in a similar way to Adonis. If you think about it, Adonis is kinda like Apollo's second chance. Apollo 2.0, if he had survived Ivan and didn't age
@@CRISIS_COMICS Could it possibly be a wisened and matured Rocky who realized that the Apollo he fought wasn’t the Apollo he had always seen? Remember at the start of Rocky 2 when Rocky wheels himself into Apollo’s room and asks him if he really gave Rocky his best? I think there was more to that question than Rocky just affirming that Apollo wasn’t holding back. I believe he was expecting more (self doubt aside). It could very well have been a Gohan moment from the cell saga, but I also think my theory has more credence when coupled with the Creed statement about time. Just my opinion though.
Nah man adonis is not beating Apollo. Look at it this way the 70s and 80s were the golden age of boxing. Its like saying deontay wilder could beat mike tyson. Wilders awesome and a ko machine but hes never fought a fighter thats like old school tyson. The old guys fought much better competition that pushed them to be better. People a lot of times forget Apollo had the 2nd fight in the bag being way ahead on points. He wanted the ko and it cost him the match against rocky.
Apollo was 46-1… only loss was his last fight against Rocky who barely got up himself 😂😂😂 Apollo>>>>>> Adonis. Adonis is too little. Too weak. And Michael B Jordan was a horrible pick to play Adonis. I don’t believe that little a dude could become heavyweight champion of the world today. They should have picked someone else that looks more like Apollo.

There is no way!! It’s not even close!!
Adonis would win.
Because boxing did change from Apollo times, we know more, we know how to be more efficient...
@@grahamhill676 Fair Enough.
It's a solid point
I never saw Adonis moves fast like Apollo he just be boxing he don’t got nun fancy about his fighting style like Apollo and rocky has I love Adonis he a strong boxer but his style is basic compared to rocky, Apollo, and clubber lang
I got Apollo all day. I just don’t see Adonis coming close to his dad. It’s just not there.
do apollo creed vs victor drago pls
Apollo was already the greatest prior to fighting Rocky. No one came close. He was already a declining older boxer when the first fight with Rock came around, and that took all of Rock to even be close with an aging Creed.
Adonis to big for creed with less speed n skill but close enough
Creed would win...
Apollo was inactive for a decade
adonis creed vs ivan drago
Imagine losing your dad and years later losing your mom and then fighting Damian to be the world champ again
Apollo. Their the same fighter but Apollo was bigger with more power.
Idk bout bigger
@@WORKSbabyIvan himself said Adonis was smaller than his father aka Apollo
@@cullex.2851 I know that part but I still don’t know Apollo was big as hell tho
@@WORKSbaby Apollo wasn’t Ivan Drago size, but Apollo started as a heavyweight so he’s naturally bigger.
That, and cause Adonis was like 205 or something and Apollo was 220.
@@cullex.2851 I feel u
I'd take Apollo, Adonis has daddy issues 😆😆😆😆
Apolo creed
Apollo
If they fought, I think the one with the initials of AC would win
Apollo
Was Rocky a pro or amatuer in the first movie?
Amateur
Pro
Old school fighter doesn't beat a new school one. Skill wise boxing is more deeper now. If you watch rocky movies fights most of them is just hitting to the death. Apollo is good at footwork though, but adonis is slicker over all. Accolade and achievements wise Apollo did better and encounter more, but Apollo vs Adonis... man I hate to say but Adonis beats him
That’s because they’re movies. They aren’t supposed to be accurate since that depends completely on the actors.
By that logic, Mason Dixon would beat Rocky since the actor was a world champ.
I think Apollo would win because I consider Balboa as the true ending
Apollo retired more boxers then social security
Gotta be honest, I don't think Adonis could take Apollo in Apollo's prime...
Creed is winning for sure
I think Apollo is way better than Donnie. I mean we haven’t seen Apollo Creed in his Prime yet. Only an older version.
it was 85 when Apollo was taken
Apollo would beat that azzzzz
Adonis has 0 footwork or Rocky’s endurance… and doesn’t have enough power
Rocky> Donnie> Ivan D> Apollo > Clubber> Victor D> Conlan > Dame> Wheeler
Are You Fucking Joking, Adonis > Ivan Drago? Drago Could BREAK SOMEONES SKULL
I think Sly was trippin...Apollo would beat the shit outta Adonis
So Rocky beats Adonis who would beat Apollo
@@s.owl9 Rocky is ragdolling Adonis - ruclips.net/video/w6XFM4_5bEI/видео.html
I want to live in a world where prime Apollo beats everyone
Only age and rocky stopped Apollo. No way he loses to adonis.
Adonis creed 3 >>>> apollo prime
Nah, but Adonis cred cuz he so discombobulated in creed 2 is his prime
I don’t see Adonis even gettin close enough to Apollo. And he couldn’t do enough damage to really put Apollo out even if he got inside. Apollo low diffs!
peep the vid
@@bighova09 To me if it’s between a mournful Balboa or an in-the-moment Duke/Apollo, regarding Apollo’s prime, I’ll defer to the latter.
