If it was a movie I'd agree that less is more when it comes to villains, but for games, we need at least 6. 2-3 main villains and 3-4 supporting villains. Not all villains need the main antagonist treatment for a superhero game. Case in point, all the Arkham games. The world feels richer because of all the supporting villains in it.
I never thought about it like that, but it makes sense. With all the villains, it makes it feel more like they co-exist instead of being just one-off characters with no relation to each other.

Yeah I play VR. I feel like it's one of those things you don't care about until you use it. I've shown it to friends and family members that didn't care one bit about VR and were even reluctant to try it, and every single one of them was blown away. It's not something I play all the time, but it's genuinely worth trying at least.
I genuinely think BG3 might be the only real competition for GOTY. If you like turn based combat it's damn near a guarantee you'll love the game. I had never even heard of it before it came out, but since it's release it's been single-handedly carrying me to the spider-man 2 release.
I do like turn base but that game is average imo. The whole dice thing turns into a save scum choice and feels like way to many conversations can go wrong even when you're just trying to explore. Imo spiderman 2 is way more entertaining game with a possible 10 times better story than bg3.

I kinda like the main boss, and sub boss vibe. Having several lower tier villains to deal with, and then eventually having to deal with the avenger level threat villain. For me personally it adds to the spiderman aesthetic. Like in some of the spiderman animated series, there was always different low tier villains he’d have to deal with, and then eventually a MAIN villain. But I do get where you’re coming from because it is hard being able to fully flesh out multiple villains
I think having a MAIN villain for spider man would be best like you said, and give side villains their stand alone DLC’s. I think it just focusing on 1 villain is wasted potential overall though.

I understand what you mean with the villains, they could go overboard. It is one of the reasons i enjoy comicbook games though. Most comics have a big cast, and crossovers, and team-ups so games can provide that unique experience unlike films that need big budgets and need to keep the story flowing. Although marvel did it, I dont think we will see it for a while now. Games can just do it a lot better because screen time in a 2hr-3hr film is a lot more premium than a game that takes 50hrs to complete. Spider-Man PS4 was, i think, the first time we saw the full sinister six together outside of comics and or maybe tv shows which in my opinion, they did a pretty good job. I also think the Arkham games successfully showcased a lot of Batman's villains and it made it feel like the DC Universe even with small appearances and side missions showcasing different characters that provided an authentic comic feel without bogging the story down - like how you would have 1 issue appearances from characters in a comic series. That's why, personally, i dont think i'll ever see a batman film as good as the games. Also when it comes to comicbook based media, most people know the characters so i dont think giving them a full introduction is necessary and it can be interesting if you are not familiar. I learnt about most of the DC and Marvel characters through appearances in the games that just peaked my interest in them, and so i went to learn more. But, I could still see the story being a mess if they have a lot of characters - its a spider-man curse 😂

They are special attacks. It wouldn't make sense for to use tentacles constatly unless they don't deal that much damage on certain animations.

I also think the Arkham games successfully showcased a lot of Batman's villains and it made it feel like the DC Universe even with small appearances and side missions showcasing different characters that provided an authentic comic feel without bogging the story down - like how you would have 1 issue appearances from characters in a comic series. That's why, personally, i dont think i'll ever see a batman film as good as the games.
Also when it comes to comicbook based media, most people know the characters so i dont think giving them a full introduction is necessary and it can be interesting if you are not familiar. I learnt about most of the DC and Marvel characters through appearances in the games that just peaked my interest in them, and so i went to learn more.
But, I could still see the story being a mess if they have a lot of characters - its a spider-man curse 😂

I don’t like it being so many but i understand why it keeps from feeling like you’re doing samethings and low level enemies getting repetitive super fast. So overall I’m okay with it

During the main story missions the game will dictate which character you control. In the open world you can switch between peter or miles whenever you want like he said.

I understand what you’re saying when it comes to too many villains and you can spend time with certain ones but for 2018 that’s the sinister six so I knew what they were doing from the jump. Not everybody her focus just Mr. negative and doc Oc. but when you think about it in every Spider-Man game ever made in history, none of them focused on one villain. You had your main over arcing villain, but then you also had all the villains.
You read the previews that dropped today. Everyone saying everything is better and expanded in Spider-Man 2. They launching with 30, 40, 60 and 120 fps w/ VRR modes and all modes have ray tracing in it. Insomniac should be ashamed for shitting on the industry so hard lmao.

Imagine believing this B+ tier at best developer is the BEST dev right now lmao. If making consistently safe and good(not great) games makes you the best....gaming is in a poor state right now. RDR2 and TLOU2 eclipses anything they've done in the past 10 years from a technical and gameplay standpoint and they haven't innovated or set any type of standard since I was saving up money for a PS2 back in highschool. Also last I checked Capcom is still making games. Freak outta here with the 8 out of 10 ass game and company🤣

Saying they're the best developer out right now(meaning they're better than Capcom and Fromsoft even) is Staning on a whole new plateau lol. They've been making games as long as ND, correct...yet in all of that time(from when I was in highschool to typing this message) they have not innovated or broken ground in anything. No developers look at Insomniac for inspiration, yet they're the best? Insomniac excels at taking what's been established and building on it to make polished and solid games. The best breaks new ground, now follows what's been established just to remain consistent. We'll talk when Spider-Man 2 releases with an 87 on metacritic, drops to an 84 and is then forgotten about after 2 months and called "trash" in hindsight by his Twitch chat lol.
