- Leather chukka boots making by handmade without sewing machine. My new video in which I decided to make an experiment for myself. The essence of the experiment was to sew leather boots by hand. In this video, I have shown the processes of making shoes. I tried to make it interesting and informative in some places. Some shoe making processes are almost always the same and are independent of the type of shoe.
I also made electronic patterns for these leather chukka boots. If my video is interesting to you and also gets 300 minimum likes, then I will attach patterns for free download.

Thanks for sharing. Wonder why you did not use a better sole and a goodyear welt or stitchdown constructed? That sole would easily come off in the summer months where I live.

The patterns will be. I need some time. Because I have to make patterns for shoe sizes and also show the parameters of the last. The patterns will be added to the comments and to the description for the video this Wednesday or Thursday.
Was really great until you just glued on a crappy moc welted sole. Why not do an actual Goodyear welt or stitchdown?
1. Because a genuine leather sole with a welt will not survive in wet and humid autumn (as well as spring) and winter
2. The rubber outsole is more comfortable for the feet, as it is slightly cushioned
3. Real leather sole with welt is expensive for me and it is very long and difficult to craft
@@leathercrafttogether8356 you do realize you can use a vibram or danite sole with a welt correct? It does not have to be a leather outsole. Look at White's or Nick's work boots that have welted or stitchdown V100 lug soles that will far outlast this boot.

@@leathercrafttogether8356 1. obviously moot point, stitch on Dainite or get a double/triple oak tanned leather sole
2. Some people might say that, but leather breaks in better and will make it more suitable for any shape of the foot, rubber will feel more comfortable at times but it is not better for the foot
3. of course a valid point but glued shoes are bound to be thrown away once the glue fails and the upper gets damaged. Also I think it's a shame that you put so much work onto the uppers and then just finish the shoe with such an underwhelming construction. Was also pretty disappointed when it came to the filler, pretty bad quality stuff used there but I guess it works for instructional purposes.
Simplicity inspires more to get in to shoemaking than to ”show of all your skills how to” uploads. Baby steps… Comparing other videos I really like how you make the nailing the upper to the last look so clean and easy, made me think I can do it too, so Im collecting materials to start soon. And thank you for the free patterns, what a champ! ❤

I think it won't work. To make such shoes without a shoe last, a different pattern design is needed.

Do you use pu for gluing out soles to the upper?
For upper what glue do you use.
Yes PU glue. For upper I use Polychloroprene adhesive (for the shoe industry)

You have an excellent channel! I love leather, I wear it everywhere where it is possible and I like watching how it is processed into garments. And you wear a beautiful watch with an elegant leather strap. Is it a real alligator or a well-made imitation? Nice to see it on your wrist during the work. And do you make watch straps, too?
Thank you so much. Unfortunately, the watch has a PU leather strap. I've never made a watch band before, but maybe I'll try.

We both know leather is the best material for everything... :) Do you wear some real leather watches too? For me, watch strap is one of the places where leather is most important for me - just the smell of fine leather is unique... In fact, watch strap is a piece of leather that we touch most often, during most of the daytime... Or do you like leather processing more than wearing leather generally?

Подскажи, пожалуйста, насколько надёжен клеевой метод крепления подошвы в домашнем исполнении? Переживаю, что из-за отсутствия нужного давления подошва может не очень качественно держаться. Как чувствуют себя пары спустя год-два носки?
Привет, спасибо. Ну вроде у меня норм получается, но бывает где-то чуть может отклеиться по краю бортика (но не критично). С терморезиновыми подошвами проблема либо недогрел либо перегрел феном (и то и то плохо) Советую клеить полиуретан, он лучше держится. Также используй подошву с высоким бортиком и дополнительно прошивай по борту.

Didn't quite understand. What machine do you make patterns without? I make the patterns by hand based on the shoe lasts, then repeat them digitally

@@creepydanno 45 size is 5 mm smaller. You can try using a size 45 pattern. Check the pattern (make one spunbond shoe and use on your shoe last)

Awesome leather craftsmanship, but disappointed it finished with a glue on sole and not some sort of stitched midsole and outsole construction. Cool video overall.

Видео - класс, конечно! А не перебор ли отверстия под шов пробивать в осенней обуви? Может, если если ромбовидным шилом прорези делать, то ноги от холода и влаги защищённей будут? И ещё вопрос: что конкретно за клеи на верху и на подошву?
Спасибо. Ромбовидного шила или пробойника не было. Обувь на кожподкладе, то на холод не рассчитана. Резиновый клей для сборки верха обуви, полихлоропреновый (наирит) для затяжки на колодку, полиуретановый клей (десмокол) для подошвы.
Конечно же лучше шить на машинке
@@leathercrafttogether8356 а вот такой вопрос ещё у меня образовался: в видео указано, что кожа 1,8мм + свиной подклад, но если нужная мне кожа - это, например, краст 1,4-1,6мм, или вовсе какая-нибудь галантерейная 1,2мм, как быть?
@@kirill416 используй кожу, которая у тебя есть. Единственный совет - это не используй растительного дубления кожу. Толщины 1.2мм 1.4 мм1.6 мм это стандартная толщина кожи для обуви

И вообще, какие свойства должны быть у кожи (тянется или нет, мягкая/жёсткая)? Просто я у жены фабричные ботинки и из флоттера видел, а в инете даже из какой-то кошельковой с тиснением модельные туфли.

@@leathercrafttogether8356 Да, не попадали... Про "операции с хлосодержащими" уже написано. А вот такой вопрос: не пробовали заполнять чем-нибудь пустоты в литой подошве? Готовым пробковым наполнителем или другим чем?
@@yuriysheremetov6232 можно заполнить пробкой, можно заполнить микропорой. Нарезаешь на квадратики и приклеиваешь в пустоты.
@@Clampo1 Про микропору говорят, она слишком мягкая, проминается и не защищает перегородки в подошве от деформации. Интересует про пробку: тоже "квадратики" вклеивать? Или сделать крошку с клеем? Тогда что в роли клея?
@@yuriysheremetov6232 я бы не сказал, что пора настолько мягкая, что мягче перегородок. Пробку тоже кубиками.
