In this clip, Yung Joc cleared up the rumor that he was broke and driving for Uber. He was actually marketing a new rideshare company that was set to rival Uber and Lyft. However, the company wasn’t able to capitalize on the genius marketing ploy by Yung Joc due to COVID-19. The backlash from the video also had lasting ramifications as many thought Joc was actually broke to the point rappers began making lines about it.

Man living in Atlanta, when that song came out it blew up so fast. That first line “before i go broke like joc” everybody was saying it. I remember the first time I heard it and I was thinking wait how joc broke, he on the radio. Then I saw that Uber video, it was the perfect storm. Genius marketing by joc, turned into a #1 song because of a misunderstanding. Joc station did edit that line out when they played the song though!

Honestly, a base fee ride sharing subscription would be amazing. Not sure on the logistics especially with gas prices rising but as someone who predominantly uses Uber/Lyft it would be cost saving for the rider and guaranteed money for the drivers. The only way it truly gets off the ground though is if they make their drivers actual employees with benefits
