      I dont see how it's unfinished. Im having a blast. If you are talking about the cosmetics.. go play a dressing game or something..
      More maps would be fun but you have to understand it costs a bunch of money for them to make them so they start with a small amount, see if the game makes money and then make more to keep the game going.
      Unfinished games is a big problem.. but this game is not one of them come on

      @@k0lpA ..... COmpare Halo 3 and Halo Reach's selection of maps, modes, and custom game options to Halo infinite. Now compare the budget and development time.... Halo infinite has had the biggest budget yet and also has nearly twice the development time of 3 and Reach, which BOTH launched with MORE content.
      Stop making excuses for poor company decisions.
      Infinite IS unfinished, as Halo 5 was at launch too.

    Halo infinite monetized features that were just inherently available for free in previous Halo games. You can tell the people that comment stuff like “it’s free to play tho” or “it’s just cosmetic” are zoomers who have mostly played heavily monetized games or shills that defend anything just cause it’s new. It’s not even just cosmetics or progression. Just the lack of content like proper playlists, working custom games, a non broken theatre mode and not to forget Forge is one of the reasons Halo 5 dropped off so quickly. I’m afraid greed might limit such a great game. Halo infinite is really amazing gameplay wise even tho I think the weapons are pretty limited and I think 343 kinda over corrected when it came to complain of the weapon sandbox being over saturated. Seriously, I don’t think some weapons sharing the spotlight is that bad. Obviously you don’t want a repeat of Halo 5 but would bringing back a classic shotgun, plasma rifle, and carbine really be that bad?

      I'm not against monetized cosmetics, if and only if it's the funny ones that don't really hold any significance. Cat ears, the daisy set, the pineapple grenades, the card set, they're all good as sellable items; however, actually sets like the hazop and the normal armors should be unlockable through either a reach style progression system or an MCC battle pass style. In addition (I've made comments like this before, so bear with me if you've seen this in the past), Armor coatings should only be for textures, and we should either be given free color selections or warframe style color pallets that can then be applied to specific parts of armor. The pallets can be sold, but free pallets should also be handed out every once in a while. I'm almost positive this would heavily reduce criticism and still make the customization profitable.

    I am personally glad the PvP is free-to-play because I'm only interested in the Campaign and because it will be easier for newcomers to try the game. But that's no excuse for the over-monetization of customization elements. Warframe is also a free-to-play, but instead of buying pre-made color schemes, you buy color palettes and make your own.
    As for challenges, MCC do them better because it uses categories (kill with vehicles, kill with UNSC weapons, etc...).

      I will always stan warframes monetization in almost every way, god damn that game does it nearly perfectly and I think every free-to-play needs to take a good long look at why warframe works so well.

    Really really enjoyed this video. Glad you mentioned issues like Melee, that has got to be my biggest grip with how the game feels. Also liked how you brought up the progression system issues, but didn't base the whole video around it. I know this part is personal opinion on my half, but live fire is probably my favorite map. The map layout plays well with how I play the game. Also wanted to comment on your thoughts on the sentinel beam. To me, it feels way stronger than it did in previous halos, really reminds me of the lightning gun from Quake.

      Yea maps are kind of subjective. I enjoy Bazaar and live fire, but maybe that's because I didn't play the tech preview and was forced to play on those maps. In moderation they're fine.

    "decent" is a good way to put it.
    but in a halo game, I want excellence. I want heart and passion, and I feel this game has very little of it. Your commentary about the soundtrack is a perfect summary of how I feel about the game as a whole.

      @@oppositeofnicemgs2050 why different Style for shure but as AAA and shooter in general from an designe stanpoint like enemy roster, arena designe, learning curve, difficult balancing, gamedesigne in general, how informations are communicated directly to the player in therms of Display Layout, shapes and colours from enemys and Environment Eternal ist top tier and a beast of a game from a objektive standpoint.       @@odin175lorenz5 Doom Eternal is irrelevant in this conversation, it's not like Halo ever had serious issues with the things you listed, 2 being unbalanced was very noticeable, it was either too easy or too hard, but what 343 needs to do is look back at the old games and innovate on that, not fucking look at what Doom Eternal's done. By the way, did you know that many of 2016 and Eternal's elements take inspiration from Halo? Who would have thought?

      @@odin175lorenz5 Also, if we're talking about how information is communicated to the player, both Halo Infinite and Eternal share the same issue: eye fatigue. You have to scan the screen so fucking much just to know how many Blood Punches you have and you may even get confused due to the fast pace and the shape of the icon, it looks too same-y. The race car hud is a good idea in theory but really hard to get accustomed to in practice.
      Anyway, I really hate when people say "from an objective standpoint". What does that even mean? Objectivity is not the undisputable truth because it doesn't exist when it comes to stuff like this. Game design, movie making, fiction and writing and much more have rules that have been in place for years and years, but there have been examples of people breaking traditions and making, arguably, better stuff with their own ideas. Moral of the story, don't pull things out of your ass.

    I think this gonna need a new review yearly. Kinda like (almost exactly like) a retrospective review. Because what we say now (while being valid critiscism) won't be applicable in a year (hopefully).

    I think it's important to remain calm yet critical, 343 has shown nothing but the ability to listen as we've seen with every positive aspect of this game and so to not entertain making the still weak aspects of the game better is baffling to me. I've always appreciated your ability to review things with a balanced perspective of not being too critical but also pointing things out when they're wrong, all while not being soy. gr8 review m8.

    Agree 100%. Incentives in multiplayer are important to the Halo fans. Halo is completely incompatible with other shooter elements and the "cosmetics" can't be treated the same way. Armor customization IS why I grind and gives me incentive to play well. There's no justifiable reason to limit the content so badly also. It could be so good but they insist on holding back the game's potential for some reason that probably pertains to marketing strategies. Its going to bite them.

    The map analysis is excellent and spot-on. Teamshooting just doesn't work the same way as it did in Halo 1-3 and in even Reach to some degree. The recent online competitive matches that were streamed on RUclips really underscore this. I noticed that a lot of the encounters were 1v2 or 1v1, and people were running around in circles like CoD gameplay because of the lanes that prevent creative cross-flanking or jumping. People were already playing with the same strategy because some maps just doesn't provide enough room for movement.

    The ravager was actually nerfed from the tech preview. It used to kill in 2 bursts to the body and one burst to the head. It was nerfed to kill in 3 bursts with no headshot multiplier. I think 343 nerfed (and is currently nerfing) a lot of the weapons in the sandbox, but this might change with proper feedback. The Ar was nerfed, the commando was nerfed, the bulldog was nerfed, etc. I think by tweaking the balance a bit the game would be in a great state weapon sandbox wise. I would say sprint in this halo enables momentum which compliments the equipment and sandbox IMO of this halo. I would take a look at shyway's stuff on the risk reward movement mechanics, and ascend hyperion's video on momentum personally they go far more in depth.

    I haven't played much since I work a lot so the bots 343 included for really bad players like me to enjoy and feel like they don't suck so bad are amazing too. Haven't had so much fun in a Halo multiplayer since playing reach with my brother on release night. I don't mind progression much either since I just really want the story to be good. To me it's the most important part of Halo besides the sandbox

    I'll say the multiplayer is better thsn reach once they fix the damn playlists. Ironically had more fun going back to mcc reach *just because* i could pick w/e mode i wanted. Also, btb heavies in reach still feels like more good chaotic fun than infinite's btb- but that's just me. Could list off all the small reasons why but this comment's long enough already lol. Oh & RIP 2-3 tone color blocking, the community just forgot about it

    Idk why everyone is acting like the gameplay is an amazing traditional halo experience. It's fun, but much much much closer to COD than it is Halo at the end of the day for a large number of reasons. Saying "343 understands halo" is wrong. Has been wrong and now that eveyone is encouraging this shit traditional halo gameplay will never return.

      Couldn’t agree more. I’ve been on Reddit and RUclips like crazy the past few weeks. You’re the first person I’ve seen that has mentioned this, and my god it’s depressing. Ppl will say the original Halo’s are “dated” and needed to be modernized. Game has lost so much of its identity in favor of modern trends, that it feels more like a Halo-style mod of COD than Halo.

      I agree. the only reason it exists is for the cheap instant hitbox change with slide. yet another pandering, uncreative mechanic from all the most implant popular shooters on the market. just like clamber, or the grappling hook.

    Originally when I saw the reveal of the grapple hook, I thought the game was in trouble.. basically I thought the game would become “just cause” and everyone would have a grapple hook at all times. Glad to see that is not the case.

    I personally believe the "beta" part is really to see what fans and actual consumers think of the game so they can personally improve it, rather than other games simply assuming it from a certain group of individuals or "reviewers" who are out of touch with gaming. They might be the first to actually consider gamers opinions and utilize their recourses for actual game play experience in a long time.

    i just absolutly love how they added the thruster, so you can have the slide, jump, thrust, sprint rhythm like in halo 5. I absolutely love this kind of movement reminds me of warframe. I then fell absolutely in love with this game when i played the campaign. Sprint, slide, jump, grapple, THRUST??? cmon now, too amazing. :)

    For the weapons I would make a few corrections,
    first isn’t a correction but just some context, the ravager was ridiculous in the flights but got nerfed to oblivion,
    second: the sentinel beam is absurdly powerful against both Spartans and vehicles, a combination of high damage output plus hard light giving bonus vehicle damage, I think it’s slightly higher than a half secends ttk?
    the cindershot is also absurdly powerful but has to be used correctly, you need to hit the ground in front of your target to make it bounce and explode on your target which is a two shot kill, which also pulls enemies into the middle to make the second shot more likely to hit, or use the alt fire to track your mouse movement for farther away
    The hydra is very good against Spartans in dumbfire mode only requiring 2 direct impacts to kill, but the splash damage isn’t great, lock on mode sucks against Spartans though, and should only be used at longer ranges as it’s a 4 shot kill. Both modes are great against vehicles though, and it seems to do bonus vehicle damage but I’m not sure about that

    Couple more points without the sbmm its literally a flip flop btw team, cant do real fullscreen, 4man in lobby do not q up in the same fireteam & if ping >90ms it feels like bullets u fire dissapear overall its still pretty good for a "beta" game

    this game has staying power but forge and custom game browser are key for keeping that power. With the delay of those 2 modes, I'm scared to death the player base will fall off before they arrive.

    Base controls is amazing but I wish the sandbox was bigger, halo 5 had many variants that might’ve been too excessive but it was fun to play around with the weapons. Now my Arsenal is limited and some weapons I just don’t find fun to use

    I don't understand why so many ppl defend 343 by saying "they just need to learn or understand Halo." But H4 and H5 separated themselves as much as possible from Halo. If they were trying to "learn" we would have seen adaptations of older games.
    Infinite is better than H4 and 5 but honestly that's not hard to do. 343i still has no faith in truly bringing back Halo. Thats why content and features are missing. Thats why equipment isn't as neutral as H3. Thats why the AR can cross map.
    Infinite still lacks a unique feel that only Halo can bring but the game is fun. But alot of its hype truly comes from the lack of a competent competitor.

    24:10 regarding the taming of the language, I had only really thought that "back-smack" was kind of childish, but that they chose it because they'd removed the animated assassinations from Reach onwards (and people refer to it as back-smacking kind of colloquially), now that you're putting it next to the removal of "suicide" it really feels like they'd have to be linked.
    I wonder if it's the same reason that they aren't going to call it SWAT, but "Tactical Slayer"

    But as long as sprint is in the game, it is fundamentally not Halo.
    Any developer that puts sprint in a Halo game (square peg in a round hole) does NOT understand Halo.
    Will not be touching it.

    Infinite is being absolutely thrashed by nearly every other relevant shooter, and the game hasn't even launched yet. Imagine the viewership in a year. These stats are not good at all for a game that's supposed to last "ten years".

    The shooting feels incredible and satisfying but it needs tuning as some weapons don’t satisfy their roles as good as they can and I think it’s due to;
    1. The TTK for the AR, sidekick and BR are too fast making most weapons in the sandbox feel null. The reason why plasma weapons like the Plasma Pistol and Pulse Carbine don’t get used a lot is that the ballistic weaponry are already good at taking out shields and unlike plasma weapons you don’t have to lead your shots nearly as much as they are pretty much pseudo hit scan and don’t require much skill to use. The AR specifically is almost too good for a weapon that doesn’t require much skill, you just spray and pray. I’d recommend nerfing it’s damage to shields, and it’s accuracy to Halo 4’s level or similar and maybe getting rid of headshot multiplier (Halo 4’s AR is still really good but not too good that it doesn’t incentivize going out and getting better weapons or weapons to compliment it). The BR and sidekick I’d recommend nerfing their rate of fire a bit and also nerfing their accuracy at longer ranges. They would still have an advantage over the AR but now other precision guns like the Commando and the Stalker rifle have more breathing room.
    2. The electric weapons kinda kicked the plasma weapons out of their roles making plasma stagnant in comparison. The electric weapons are good at taking out shields and even EMP vehicles and just like the Ballistic weapons, they don’t really require you to lead your shots so now you get EMPd from across the map in a banshee while at least with the plasma pistol you had to predict where your enemy was going. Vehicles already have a lot of counters. Not only do you have plasma grenades, rockets and skewer and even the sniper, dynamo grenades, grapple vehicles and hijack them, but you can even shoot tires off of them so I think guns EMP them from long ranges aren’t necessary. Get rid of the Shock Rifle’s EMP effect or make it so it takes 3-4 shots to EMP a vehicle depending on the size, in return buff it electric chain effect on players by increasing its radius of the effect or just buffing the effect itself. The disruptor I think is on a fair spot. And of course give the plasma pistol back it’s shield stripping power and EMP effect. Also increase the pulse carbine projectile speed.
    3. The sandbox needs more weapons. I wouldn’t mind the return of the plasma rifle as it is THE shield stripping weapon. In order to make it stand out I’d give it back it’s ability to stun enemies like it did in CE. Bring back the classic shotgun, carbine, brute shot, Fuel Rod canon, and the sticky detonator.

    Cindershot is dope. Just two semi on target blasts and you've got the kill. Bounce the shot into them up at mid range and from a distance guide the shot with the scope. It spits rounds quick and the rounds themselves are fast. It's like a different flavor of rocket launcher.

    I think, if not looking at the store, the challenge system is very rewarding and enjoyable way to progress the battle pass. Though I'm still very surprised that if I pop off in a game and don't hit a challenge it will be the same as if I got 0/30 K/D and bullied my team. I think making the battlepass cost more XP and making medals, a system that is already in the game, count towards your end XP like many games do similarly would be awesome and make this game my top multiplayer game of all time.

    Nice video for the most part. 👍 But hell no sprint is fine where it is, I would be too afraid that a faster sprint would mess with the balance/break the game. Especially with objective based games. Just my 2 cents.

    Are you living in a different world than I am? How is gaming ruined? Sure, AAA gaming is a total mess, and companies like activision are basically hell for their workers, but that's only part of gaming. There are plenty of good games out there. Sure, many of the best games are old, but good ones are coming out all the time. Great ones, even.

    I personally disagree completely about what your saying about sprint besides the proper map design critique, I don’t think you should be able to turn around instantly and start sprinting, or be able to shoot while sprinting, people don’t like sprint in halo because it allows you to easily escape engagements and not have to commit to them, if people were able to shoot and sprint, or just immediately run backwards we’d have the same problem, when killing someone they’d always try to instantly turn around and sprint away, and if you could shoot and sprint people would just be constantly running around the map and the pace of gameplay would be a lot faster, which most classic halo fans would hate cause we like the slower style arena gameplay like in halo 3. Sprint is in the perfect spot right now, can’t run away easy, doesn’t speed up gameplay too much, and is not too OP by being able to shoot and sprint at the same time.

    I think the core gameplay sucks. the ar and battle rifle completely dominate everything. the shotgun can no longer counter the sword, the gravity hammer has a painfully slow wind-up. the needler is far too easy now and doesn't need an optimal range and instead can be used to cheese any close range instead of between 15 and 30 meters. the new covenant sniper? outclassed. the vast majority of these guys are simply outclassed by the ar and battle rifle, power weapons aside. very disappointing. they removed a lot of the interesting weapons they had in Halo 5 as well, and refused to add old mechanics and weapons everyone loved. for instance, dual wielding was incredible in Halo 3 on smaller maps, and could even be used situationally on larger maps if you knew the skill jumps to traverse much quicker. 343 is simply too dumb to know anything about this. the equipment is individual focused instead of being environment focused. you're literally told where weapons are and given a timer (casualized even more for an already casual series) you're given clamber (casualized even more for an already casual series) you're given slide to morph your hitbox (casualized even more for an already casual series) team damage is off so you can use teammates as untouchable meat shields (casualized even more for an already casual series). there is no dedication here. it literally rips mechanics from the most popular shooters. nothing unique, like Halo used to be.

    For me performance is flawless and I haven't experienced any of the crashing. I am using the store version and not the steam version. I do also have a more recent CPU with more cores.

    You're right, the MkVII armors, specifically the helmets for me, just look kind of ugly, but they are better versions of the Halo 5 versions. Anubis, Aviator (even though I've always disliked this one), Cavalino, And MkVII helmets look really good in all honesty and fit in.

    game is crossplay so there's no way that certain playlists may end up on low player count. Cod MW (2019) knew this and didn't shy away from having lots of playlist and the ability to choose from them

    Halo is a Christmas game and there are no snowy maps. :( CE launched with better multiplayer "variety" maps, by far and that was 50 years ago. Highpower and Fragmentation are awesome, but that is 2 out of 3 BTB maps. 6 years for it? Ouch.

    Ewe... yuck... behemoth is easily the worst map.. I can't stand that the sightlines are so massive. Especially with BR starts.. you just end up getting lasered from across the map constantly. And then in casual modes, the fact that a single team can easily get both of the skewers/snipers is insanity.
