      Five years from now I think He will be shaking his head at the mistakes he made with This project. Hopefully he doesn’t have to Have someone to come in 5 to 10 years and redo it. Hopefully I’m wrong. Just an armchair quarterback that refused to have similar size Project done on me with government paying 60 or 70%. It would be closer to 40 when it was done and I’ve gone through with it and that was professionals

    You did make the correct call bc the dam and back area are very nice! Looking forward to seeing the new firewood yard come together.
    Just as one point of appreciation, I had a small stone shoot out from my bush hog that shot across the field and destroyed my trucks left rear window. As it happened, I never knew bc of headphones and didn’t hear the crash (knew I hit a stone or root). When I:saw my truck, I thought someone shot it out (stray bullet) until I found the stone. One of the reasons I don’t allow people or pets near when mowing.

    We had a harley rake aka power rake (as we call it up here in NH) do our 1/3 acre play area for the kids before seed and it was worth the money! The ground was clean and the seed took so good after it was power raked!

  • @RichardGilbert2727
    @RichardGilbert2727 2 года назад

    What an awesome job! That was money well spent. Great operator and tools. I like 10% bluegrass in with tall fescue. Really knits the turf. If you mow short, 1.5-2", bluegrass will probably come in. If you use annual or perennial ryegrass for quick cover, never use more than 10%.
    Not sure where you are. Anywhere I have ever lived, they say get your lawn seed in by Sept. 15. That means with a good rain your grass is up by or before Oct. 1. But fescue is tough so you will be fne.

    Everything is looking great. You’re dead right to say that you want to do it once and do it right. Your pond is going to be gorgeous when it’s all finished and filled up. It’s definitely worth the extra effort and time to have something high quality that you, your family, and your friends will enjoy for decades to come. Pretty soon you’re going to have to come up with a name for it and maybe make a couple signs. Name the beach area also. God bless you and yours and stay safe!

    yep!! great job on getting it smooth and free of rocks. That was definitely a smart move. We built our new house about 5 years ago and even after the yard was all smooth and grass planted, I still took a lot of the next year to walk the yard and pick up rocks in the grass. What is left now is the size a mower will throw. That probably isn't as big of a concern for your pond but when you are mowing around a house with lots of nice new windows.... yikes!

    Things are indeed shaping up nicely there!
    I have been wondering about your woodyard for a few months now. Like you said: it's a bit of an eyesore. Wouldn't it be easier to put it next to the house, where at the moment your (too little) shed sits? I mean: it's a lot of expensive stuff, I would like to keep it as close as possible. But I reckon you thought about this well, so it's just my thoughts 😃

      Those other out buildings are not on the property…. One is a pitiful natural gas cover shed that the gas company could care less about. The other is a solid built building of the neighbors. Adam has very little to the far side of the drive… at least not enough to put the wood yard. So everything takes a lot of thought and even then adjustments.

    You've got such a great view from your house overlooking your property. Won't it get a tad ruined when you put the firewood station down there right in the middle of that scenic overlook? Or will the damn dam obscure the the equipment?

    • @AdamsMom921
      @AdamsMom921 2 года назад +1

      I think that the dam will obstruct most of it. You are drawn to looking to the right from his deck and the wood yard will be lower left. It all seems like a good idea now. Not so sure this winter.
