      Seems it's going that way and I wouldn't be surprised in Part 4 that happened! I view Bravo as the real villain because Siera and Delta's "nerdy mean girls" act only got this far because Bravo doesn't get his GF under control (or better to say he should have kept his private and professional life separate as an Admin! He deserves what he gets! Hope Siera dumped his simp ass when it all collapsed and she had nothing more to gain from him! Would devastate that moron in that he lost so much for a "FUCKING WOMAN" Guy/Girl no "Lover" is worth losing relationships that are tight over! A "Lover/PARTNER" like a Wife/husband is one thing, especially if their worth it! But if the sex is the only good thing in the relationship! Unfortunately as op describes in his original post and critcrab alludes to as well thats not really an option in this scenario. The events of this tale took place in '07-'08. They had all been developing the world for 5 years and you are absolutely correct that the few months of bad times before the end gives off major sunk cost fallacy.
      But this was the early days of social media and the internet was more the wild west back then. What you had was what you had. There werent reddit groups or forums where people could help each other with these issues, dnd was still very much a game by nerds for nerds and not the more socially acceptable activity it is today, and any communities you were a part of were much more tightly knit and closed off from other places. There was a real fear that "no dnd is better than bad dnd" would be no dnd period. With no wide shared communities finding a new group was much harder back then; and even harder to get accepted into if you were a stranger.
      Op at the time would have run the possibility of never playing something he truly enjoyed ever again, or at least for an extremely long time, that he dedicated his life to for over 5 years just because 2 people were being awful human beings the past couple months. Its hard to just brrak away from that.

It reads more like a made-up story with DnD sprinkled in. Like, how does OP keep getting special items the DMs didn’t give him? How does one roll to block? Now there’s a new character we never heard of for some reason who also has it out for OP just to raise the nightmare portion of this DnD nightmare story? Where did she even come from? It sounds like there was a solid group without her beforehand, not like the previous chapters were missing anybody.

      @@pwnorbepwned @Aziz @Aziz Is it really that unbelievable? I mean, unrelated to the topic, people have literally KILLED because of a bad game, from video games to card games. We're the same species that includes a guy in Thiwan who murdered someone in an internet Cafe for embarrassing them in an online game and two girls who almost killed their friend because they thought Slender Man was real. This campaign was 5 years old at this point with a rotation of players and strong personalities. The cosmic short straw was bound to be drawn at some point
      As for the details, the first two questions can be answered by the fact that this is homebrewed rules developed and agreed on by Bravo, the original DM and owner of the server, before Serra took over. OP did say that he played the character since he started five years before this point of the story.
      For questions 3 and 4, Delta had already been introduced since part one. CritCrab deliberately waited to introduced her because OP had introduced the entire cast (10 people) in detail all at once and CC broke the introductions up for brevity sake, introducing the players as they became relevant. Delta had already been apart of the group and was now becoming important.
      And even if the story wasn't real, so what? It's an entertaining story with any one of this party's woes could actually happen (DM's SO going on an ego trip, DMPC Mary Sue's, blatant favoritism and targeting, Cheating, DM Toxicity, GENERAL Toxicity, bullying, victim mentality, dog piling, group think, and more).

    This one makes me a bit less sympathetic towards the op. He is having issues with multiple players now. He is not getting along with seira because he did not want to min max and delta because he did not want to role play.
    The rules are really vague, like all the stories in this series, so things like "a sword that can drain the magic from a target," get really hard to judge if that is game breaking. This is not a d&d game, and the players seem to have semi-dm levels of abilities to create plot points, magic items, or new tech. This might just be too many cooks spoiling the broth, but it is hard to say anyone is cheating or being showed favoritism if everyone is doing this.
    This gets into a slap fight half way through. The group is not attracting new people because no one wants to get involved in this weird game of mean girls they got going on here. Frankly, this seems just both sides being hostile to each other. It seems the sides are not split between op's group and seira's group as op cannot get along with his own group either.

      @rynowatcher Год назад +2

      @@APerson-ws4cw I am getting a made up story vibe from this, but going down the rabbit hole of assuming it is somewhat reliable...
      OP is not really naming names or giving concrete examples of many offenses with other players. IE, there is a refrance to Delta arguing about astronomy that ended the game, but op never says who else was involved besides the two of them. It makes it hard to know the scope of offenders and I have a hard time believing an argument about something unrelated to a game by 3 people would derail a planned game when the server at this time is already divided into two groups who do not associate with each other. If op is to be believed, a group of people spontaneously canceled a game and sulked about not being able to win a pointless argument with someone they all agreed was wrong but the mere fact she was existing ruined their fun. Generally, that seems like a problem on both sides at best.
      People largely have a problem with Seira because they lost, and only people that lost do. There are vague refrances to cheating, but they seemed to let a player who designed the dungeons/challenges compete against everyone and act as gm. What did they expect?
      Lastly, I think if you find a foe everywhere you go, the problem is most likely not external. He fights with delta when seira will not contact op. Just seems like wherever he goes he cannot get along with people he is supposedly friends with. The entire group seems dysfunctional and immature so it is hard for me to throw stones.

    I expressed a suspicion that this is a made up story last video. Now OP has committed the classic blunder of storytellers who are unfamiliar with DnD. Forgetting the DM’s role in the game and the player’s own supposed actions.
    How is he researching and successfully developing special items without DM input? Bravo and Sierra didn’t allow him to do that R&D and then give him the anti-magic sword. If they did, OP would not have missed on pointing out that the DMs were okay with the sword when they gave it to him, only to now be changing their minds. It’s framed as OP doing this all on his own, without DM input, and them telling him to stop. He’s so far been dodging this sort of thing by having two DMs in the story running separate adventures sometimes so things could happen in one adventure without the other DM knowing right away, enhancing the drama. Here, there is no third DM, and the whole anti-magic sword part of the story makes no sense.

    i dont remember the OP's gender, or if it was mentioned for that matter, but i see whats happening here. in the case of Sierra, it's clear shes just a spoiled brat that loves being the center of attention. anyone who speaks up against her are seen as a threat and she will meta-game or break rules to quash the "rebellion" and get her way. as for Delta, the OP said she was always a pain in the ass, but it wasnt until Sierra became the main DM and began rewarding ppl who kissed up to her (Delta no doubt being one of them) that she seemingly got much bolder and assertive. since Bravo allowed Sierra to do whatever she wanted (to a certain extent), and by extension Sierra allowed her "camp" to do whatever THEY wanted, Delta probably felt like she had validation to be as mean as she wanted without consequences. she likely got even closer to Sierra to further grant herself immunity to do whatever the hell she felt like. as for why the two ladies dislike the OP so much, going back to the gender thing: if the OP is another girl, then they probably feel threatened by them. in recent years, though shit really hit the fan this past summer, i personally was a victim to a situation like that (non-DnD related situation). if the OP is a guy, then these two girls probably are just being feminazi twats and hating on them just to hate on them. whether mental issues and/or trauma is involved, i guess we'll never know since even the OP doesnt know, it still doesnt excuse their obnoxious behavior and abuse on the group (at least anyone in the group that is "against" Sierra). the OP shouldve just stuck to their guns and left the group like they initially wanted to. this group went from fun and games to full-on toxicity and cyberbullying. this is only going to get worse before it gets better, and we can already see that unfolding. i do however find it amusing how Bravo and other members of the group are so quick to point fingers at Delta and blame her for everything coming to a head. naturally Bravo isnt going to blame his gf, but this is all clearly Sierra's fault. SHE is the one that drew the line in the sand and declared "You're either on my side or you're against me", SHES the one who forced a rift between two opposing groups and caused tension/animosity between them, and SHE is the one who fostered and encouraged this toxic, mean behavior towards those in AND outside the DnD group. though, if we're to be perfectly honest and technical, all of this started because Bravo couldnt grow some balls and put his foot down w/ his gf, enabling her to do all this bs

    I think that the hidden guilty here is Bravo. Or whoever was that started dating Sierra and consenting to all of her superhuman level of stupidity and bullshit. He could have been the voice of reason within the group, but was lost in lust, or something. Truly pathetic.
