Malcom - legit. I just did this recipe on my Ole Hickory CTO - just like you have. Came out perfect. BTW - do you find the CTO takes a bit longer to cook and takes less wood for the right flavor, than its bigger brothers? I sold an EL-EDX to get this one - and i love it - but it is IMHO way less wood to get to 'no bitter'. What are your thoughts?

This seems to call into question putting the glaze and sugar blend on prior to putting on the smoker. Should I try following that recipe, but wait until it's been on two hours before putting the glaze and sugar blend on for better results?

Malcom I just cooked that ham today on my Big Green Egg, man it is delicious. then we went to WalMart this evening and they had that exact ham on sale for .98 per pound I got 3 of them and put them in the freezer. the Smoked Double glazed is the best. where did you find the Super Size Royal Oak? I have never seen that. I do use Royal Oak all of the time.

Could you eat that cold. I live in Perth, Western Australia and it regularly gets over 40C/104F around Christmas time and hot Christmas meals aren’t common.

Did you use direct heat or the diverter?
