    Your description of the sound is so good. I get tired of reviewers who use the usual 4 snobphile word salad words: sound stage, imaging, sibilant, and timbre. Not that it can’t be used just that you really spent time to define the sound of these speakers.

    Just got these speakers last week and LOVE THEM TO DEATH. I listen to primarily jazz and they really bring out the subtle nuances in every instrument. Fender Rhodes pianos sound especially sweet, more mellow and resonant than before. The bass presence is present and pronounced but not overbearing. Powering them with a Yamaha AS-701.

    After much research and your review, I purchased the ES60s today. I have some older polk audio R50s and they are just ok speakers. I'm hoping the ES60s will rock the house. The R700s are just out of my budget. These speakers will be driven by the Yamaha Tsr700 with a polk audio ES35 center channel. I'm thinking I'll get an emotiva basx A2 to drive the front ES60s. Then maybe my older R50s and bose 301s will be surround speakers. Anyways, thanks for the reviews! Love your channel

    Fantaatic description of sound. Felt like live demo. Heard them in ceutchfield comparing the timbre of other models, and the description here just nailed what I heard. Always hated 2khz to 8khz range. And most avrs hates equalizing. So am looking at speaakers which natutally has dip on those frequencies. Have a pioneer lx57 upgraded to denon x4800. Hate the amp on denon but the processing is good. Anyway wanted a dip in 2khz to 8hz in both pioneer and denon . But always loved a boost in 10khz and upward boosted a lot without distortion ofc.

    I Just purchased and connected these ES60 Elite Speakers in black and love the sound. I was on a budget, and saw your review and gave me the confidence to give them a try. Great and very detailed review! It helped tremendously.
    I have a 120W Sony DSP Str DE705 receiver, with separate BSR 10 Band Frequency Equalizer (E3000) and Technics DSP SH-GE90. I have no center, or rears, and a seperate self powered 300W Subwoofer, connected to the SONY receiver. Im wondering if you could advise how to best make use of my setup. I use a custom personal sound setting, rather than the DSP presets on the technics (although theres quite a few nice presets). I thinking if I need to upgrade my receiver since these new ELITE speakers are ATMOS CERTIFIED

      Hi, I am glad the review helped you decide. I try to be as comprehensive as possible. Is the speaker wire 14 or 12 gauge copper? Not copper clad aluminum. That will provide least resistance and best sound. Are you thinking of buying a new receiver or amp? I see the Sony has lasted a long time.

    • @PR-ur8pr
      @PR-ur8pr 2 года назад +1

      @@OldtradesReviews hi 👋🏻, thanks for replying! I have 12 gauge wire to the speakers and subwoofer.. not more than 15 feet apart from the receiver. I want to upgrade the receiver to enjoy the Hi-Res Audio Certified, Dolby Atmos & DTS:X speaker features. I feel I have a little distortion even with the new ES60 speakers. Not sure if my settings are correct for the EQ, or the technics DSP or need to go to 12 gauge copper and banana plugs (Sony receiver does not have ports for banana plugs (yes she has lasted a long time with no issues, but maybe it’s time for a whole new receiver and separate amp for a future 5.2/7.2 setup. I can send a picture of my peripherals with their settings DM. Thank you and hoping to read what receiver/amp combo you can recommend !

    • @OldtradesReviews

      Hi, I looked at the picture of the equipment. The pro logic sure brings back memories. My first receiver was a JVC Dolby Surround, before pro logic. Your Sony has definitely paid for itself over the years. The equipment should each be on its own shelf. and Nothing should be on top of the receiver to allow the heat to escape. And you don't want the receiver heat to cook the other components. I personally dont really use a eq. Maybe a bit for just the bass. But we all have different hearing. How much do you want to spend in total for new receiver/ amp?

    • @PR-ur8pr
      @PR-ur8pr 2 года назад +1

      @@OldtradesReviews Yes!! It sure has paid for itself! I may keep it for office bookshelf speakers I future think $2000 -$2500 range for receiver and amp not sure but I don’t want to go “cheap” and sacrifice sound quality or features. Such as Dolby Atmos use, streaming Bluetooth for music and 4K for video upconversion for Tv/video. Also will I need the Technics DSP with the new receiver? Thanks again.

    Hi!
    Month ago I was quite impressed listening to Polk S60. I liked the sharpness of the vocal and strings and the soul of sound. Only today I found out that there is new product or version - ES60. Hoping it also has similar sharpness and brightness as S60.
    Planning to buy it and connect with Arcam SA-30. What's your opinion bout that?

    The ES50's and the S60's are the same price right now ($349 each), so I'm debating which ones to buy. I already own the ES30 center, but I don't think that matters. One thing I noticed is that the ES50's say that are Res Audio Certified, Dolby Atmos & DTS:X compatible. Does that matter or is that a gimmick? Which would you buy? This is already over my budget, so I can't do the ES60's.

      I think the B&W700 series is much better sounding, but also much more expensive. Its all about component matching, and our hearing. Some speakers do well with a variety of amps and receivers. And some do not
