They're great but you seldom see them for sale here in Australia.

Is that a dirt tuned motor?

Not sure. I had this already as a kid, unfortunately the sticker is missing. I fully rebuild it and added baring, it runs perfect now!

It's funny but my situation is so similar to yours. I spent hours checking the Tamiya catalogues in the 1980's and that's when my love of RC vehicles started. At the time I was given a second-hand Holiday Buggy as a present. It was only recently that I acquired a re-release XR311 myself and coincidentally, I was also seduced by the exquisite looking RC Channel metal upgrade parts. I have many of the same parts as you and I can't wait to finish the build.

One's addicted, always addicted, haha for RC it is 😊. The RC Channel parts makes the car like it should in my opinion. Detailed building always takes a lot of time, looking forward to yours

@@hofsplace I also have plans to restore the vintage Holiday Buggy when I have time.

Very nice but the front bumper is horrible looking, would look so much better without it IMO

I agree with this. Many early Tamiya cars had the same problem including the Holiday buggy, Rough Rider, Sand Scorcher, etc. For the XR311, I would not fit this front bumper.
