We are only like 20 years past trying to electrocute the demons out of people being a commonly accepted medical practice I mean it's still an option but most doctors these days wanna try and see if they can make you OD on antipsychotics and antidepressants before they recommend shock therapy, also the conversion camps are stupid AF, take a bunch of gay kids out in the middle of nowhere for weeks at a time with limited supervision what do you think is gonna happen? My parents never talked about sexuality but they left subtle hints here and there. Like they’d leave the TV on channels where teen shows like Gumrah played to let me know not to get involved with the wrong kind of thing/people. One time they left the news on when they were talking about HIV and left the room. They weren’t so subtle.
Edit: I guess lots of people have misunderstood the HIV part as me being gay. I’m very much straight. I grew up when awareness about HIV was on the rise in India and parents really wanted their kids to practice safe sex, but didn’t know how to broach the subject.
@@happiyyyyyou could always...talk to your kids? It doesnt have to be a explicit or anything. There is anumber of children's book that break it to them that there are gay people in this world, and although different to what they had seen so far, it didnt mean they are bad or strange etc

I don't wanna police or control my future kids can't see their internet habits. Coz i will also be like my parents no matter what i try. Cant keep up with technology and new trends. Already behind on reels etc. I will put on such shows and movies as cautionary tales.

Gumrah was a show for teenagers and not children. And my lived experience and my replies have nothing to do with the comedian. He's like 2 decades older to me and he belongs to a very rich class Like top 1% and its comedy, these events may or may not have happened.

This is how you do a good LGBT joke. No preaching, no whining, no homophobia, just genuine comedy.
Comedy is subjective. You dont decide what is good and what is sub-par.

I admire creativity above all else - alongside, well, not spreading bigotry and misinformation about marginalized groups, as in the case of Dave Chapelle - which is why I appreciate this short.

Some people prefer being single (and there's nothing wrong with it and it doesn't make you a loser if you prefer being single), as do I, to the point that I even refused a few girls. And yes I am straight because if I were gay, I would have had a gay boyfriend by now.
It's either true love or being single. Both can be enjoyed to their fullest. Most people who got partners for the sake of society aren't happy. People need to live their own life, not how others want them to live. If you can live your life your own way despite all the crap people say about you, then you have succeeded in life, you are a winner. No one can really stop you from living your life if you don't let them.

Where I grew up this is true. Gay would always be top of the class, or the best singers, or the best artists, best dressed, always best on something that is parents have looser kids, moms would say why can’t you just be gay? 😭
Sometimes my mom likes to (hopefully) jokingly ask if I'm gay and when I always say "no", she or my sister will always ask, "Then why don't you have a girlfriend?" And I've found the best response is, "How would that make me gay? It's not like I've had a boyfriend."
