I gotta give you a thumbs up, I had the very same machine in my garage some years ago, I never got enough work for me to keep it, the machine still makes my mouth water when I see one...keep it up bud, best of luck to your future success!! Just maybe I'll try it again...some day.😎
Now this has got to be in my top 5 favorite shops that you've featured on your channel! Loved this one man shop story and loved the video! Best of luck to Sam!
Glad you enjoyed this one. Sam is such a positive and mature young man at just 26 years old. Hopefully we can do a follow up story in a few years to see how he's grown his business.
The Haas CNC is among the most intuitive on the market and is used by many high schools, technical colleges and universities. You can actually take a free online course through Haas if you'd like to get a little more familiar with it. Hey Sam if I get this same machine for my home garage. Do I have to get a special electrical box to power it up or just a 220v breaker? If so how much the box would cost me( ballpark) thanks in advance.
Hi Jacob - Great to hear you're looking to start a home garage shop. The Haas Mini Mills, Toolroom Mills and Toolroom Lathes are all designed to work in garage environments. Curtis Boggs is the HFO rep in your area and can help, cboggs@hfochicago.com
@@hfotridentmachinegroup yeah I get an email from him every week lol was rigging delivery and setup part of the included prices? I didn’t want to talk to a sales rep until I’m closer to buying
@@jacobbowling6247 rigging is not included but set-up is when it arrives. And we can also help with training if needed. Let us know if you have any additional questions. And by the way, if your door/opening is small, we have several ways to work around that.
The Haas TM-1 is 106.7" tall. In cases where we move it into a tight space, we often remove some of the sheet metal and then re-install it once it's in place. The layout drawing of the machine can be found at this link: www.haascnc.com/content/dam/haascnc/pdp_feed/mld/tm-1_1p_mld_03_2023.PDF
I want to do this but my garage only has singlè phase 220v 30amp breaker. Do you have any recommendations on what i can do to be able to run at 30 amps eventough haas says full load is 40 amps
Full Load Amps means that EVERYTHING in the machine is pulling max load it can. I have a 44 Amp Max load lathe in my garage shop making chips and never pulling more than 21 amps.
Great question... In many cases, some of the guarding on the spindle or even tool changer are removed to fit through lower openings such as this. Then we put it all back together once it's in place.
To answer the above question. A TM mill will go through an 84" door without disassembly. You'll have to get it off the skid and skate it in and push the cable track down. Contrary to what is said above you don't need to remove any parts of the spindle sheet metal and it isn't offered with a side mount tool changer so you're not going to take the tool changer apart.
My Tm fit under my 84” door fine. All I had to do was remove the spindle break resistor and loosen the energy cable so it could lay sideways. Gave me 1/4” of clearance :) Used a standard pallet jack to wheel it in :) My vf2 I had to remove the side mount tool changer and spindle break resistor (a carousel tool changer would not have required removal) I’m not familiar with the new Tm casting. But the ok’d I’ve was on riser feet to widen the stance, they were 4-6” tall, so you can really drop it down if needed.

Cool success story! Thanks for sharing.
What an amazing story! Congratulations and best of luck in the future. Can't wait to see a new facility and a bunch of new machines.

How is the controller to use on this machine I mean how is the conversational control to use

American and local manufacturing!
Hello, I enjoyed the video. I have a question. In most videos of HASS, you can see the red vice stopper
Hi - Yes, many people who purchase a Haas CNC machine tool also purchase Haas Tooling, such as the Haas by Kurt vise to hold their parts.

Hi - No special electrical box required!
thanks man
Badass home setup
Awesome. I’m from southern Indiana. Looking at getting a haas TM for a home shop and I’ve been worried power requirements and space.

Hello, can you explain the process to get a TM machine into a residential garage? My door opening is 84 inches looks you have a similar one
