    Captain Kleeman: “I heard it…I heard it when I said it.” IYKYK. I had a handful of responses all lined up but after your response (and me laughing out loud), figured it best to leave a good thing stand on its merits.
    One of the reason this is my absolute favorite channel is your style of humor and all around attitude

    The adventures of Captain Kleeman. Glad im along for the ride. The old steel in the 555 is heavy. Maybe somebody can donate some 1 plate to weld on the lift arms or maybe some fluid for the front tires. Lol

    Just a thought, but maybe chain a log or something heavy to the front bucket so its easier to turn. Then just unchain it when you need the bucket. That would be better then to fight it trying to turn. Great video Captain! Gary sounds like a very awesome guy and one great neighbor!

    Capt'n, before you get too excited about the dam for the "You Tube Yacht", I would check with your insurance agent on insurance costs with and without the pond. That will be the deciding factor in determining your rental cost and would it be competitive enough to attract renters.
    That is my two bits of advice.

      Agreed, the 555 has had a long history of being the "go to" piece of equipment before the advent of the skid steers and mini excavators. Even today, it still remains a valuable workhorse without having to mortgage everything you have. Most folks would see equipment rental as being the least headache and they are correct. For Mike's project requirements, schedule, and time, the 555 was a great acquisition. There is nothing worse than knowing that several hours of rental time can be consumed by going to get and return the equipment when there is not a local Dirt Perfect in your back yard. Making the best of what you have is a high art form. Mike is a master.

    The only downside I see is a possible increase in your insurance premiums for the rental cabin due to the nearby proximity water hazard of having a pond right off the bow. (and before the comment crazies weigh in, yes I know that the river is just down the hill but that wouldn’t be considered a nearby proximity water hazard.) Just something to consider Captain. Stay safe.

    • @Manoffire260
      @Manoffire260 10 месяцев назад +2

      I came here to say the very same thing. I looked at having a rental at a property I owned and I couldn’t afford to make any money due to the insurance rate quotes I got for business liability. My agent said “you know if you didn’t have the pond, it would be 1/4 the rate”. I would have to of charged almost 3 times the going rate in the area just to cover the insurance and it made it not economical.
      Mike needs to ask his insurance provider before he goes any further! It’s all about realities, not what someone else thinks it should be. Hate to see he couldn’t afford the insurance after going this far

    Going to get your money's worth from 555.
    You CAN make anywhere hold water, if you throw enough money into the hole.
    Cheapest is the ground will just hold water.
    Then small leak sealers like "Damit"
    Then imported clay like Bentonite
    Then geofabric liners.
    Then... Concrete it like a big swimming pool...
    My pond is going to need some of the "Damit" product, which seals small leaks effectively for about 5 years per application.
