- We have had success in predicting cult cars in our development and it’s time to start thinking about what's next. It’s 2024 and we are itching to start the modification journey with the next make. Let us know what you think DASH should develop next!
Авто/Мото
Wait for the new patrol!! You guys do them better than anyone else and are know for them...your the reason I bought my y62
Would love to see you guys develop the F150, right hand drive converted by Ford in Australia, 4.5tn towing, coming in two tray sizes, nice set up inside with dash, towing assist etc I think these will take off over Ram and Chev. They need someone to develop a front bar, lift kit LRA tank etc, basically some place yo take for the one shop stop will do well, like 4x4 DNA..
Totally agree. When talking cult hero cars the F150 is up there on the top of the list.
I'd have to say Gladiator. They are a cult car, and I'm starting to see alot more of them around.
From a business point of view I would do Next Gen Ranger, Everest & Amarok. You see so many of them on the roads.
When it comes to 4x4 vehicles, Jeep comes to mind. There are plenty of stuff for them already, but most of it is in and for USA. I'm not sure about Australia. I think that you could look at the Gladiator, but have a look at who is developing stuff for it in AUS.
Maybe stick with the GWM theme and develop stuff for the Canon.
I’d do the ranger. The most sold car in Australia.
What would a ford everest be like? Ssangyong rexton? Ineos Grenadier? It would be cool if you touch on all everyones suggested cars!
Ineos Grenadier
Gladiator is a cool idea
The raptor is a 3 litre twin turbo, so power isn't an issue for towing its rear coil Live valving is the issue for towing. Raptor chops the 62 in sand but wont in rocks and hard tracks so not the best alrounder, but it is some much more fun to drive than anything else on the market apart from f150 eaptor or trx. Would like to see you get into isa Trucks or the y63. That's what i am waiting to see if i sell the raptor for a y63 or just have both.
Love our 62. Watching you over the years certainly helped get the bug & there’s a fair fee DASH parts on her. If it’s ‘cult’ style cars I feel the Jeeps are a huge market. Look at everything that’s in the US, but not as much over here, or if it’s individually shipped over then costs get high. I could really see DASH waving their wand over a Wrangler…
I like the Wranglers, but there used to be so much available for them already
LDV T60
F150 front bar with winch to suit need it by end of year thanks mate 😂
Saw a Tundra in Melbourne CBD today. Stick to the legendary patrol I reckon, whether it be a series 6, or as anticipated the Y63. I still love my Y62.
I would love to see you guys do the XL Jimny fully up with Turbo etc . Turn it into the alternate Turing slash off road rig
Ranger Raptor
Hi Dave met you at the eastern creek 4x4 show. My suggestion is. INEOS GRENIDER. they come in a PETROL version as well as diesel. Turbo inline 6 cylinder. Putting out plenty of grunt. ❤ your channel. Hope you have a look at them
Gladiator! is a good idea but the Gladiator cult is a sub cult of the Jeep Wrangler cult which is the Ultimate Cult car, even in Australia Jeepers are fanatical, I know I am on my 4th Jeep. Nothing on the scale of the American Jeepers, there are also more mods for the Wrangler than just about any other car. Most mods will have to be imported but there a quite a few importers in Australia bringing in Wrangler mods. I recently bought a cheap 2012 Wrangler JK Rubicon 2 door and have been restoring it finance permitting. I have a project: replacing the 3,6l V6 petrol / 6 speed manual gearbox with the latest 3rd gen, 3,0l 6 cylinder turbo diesel(600Nm) and 8 speed automatic gearbox found in Rams, Grand Cherokees and Wrangler JL's. Plus there are many modifications I want to do inside and to the suspension. It is an old car with lots of problems so this could be a lot of work and a huge challenge, way beyond my limited skills and finances. Nobody has ever attempted this modification to a JK in Australia or USA. SO! it is a fantasy right now.
L663 new defender
The latest Land Rover Defenders would be a great choice to do. Plenty of different engines from a 4cy Turbo Diesel, 4cy Petrol, straight 6 Turbo Diesel, v8 Turbo Petrol and maybe more engines. Bodies all the way from the small 2 door 90, 5 door 110 and the 5 door 130 But they are great for off road but not many accessories for them. Would be great to see you guy do some bar and off road accessories for them. Parents got one now and they tow all the time but the tow hitch that comes with it wobbles around massively, not many bull bars to choose from, limited on roof racks and no rear bars. Would be very nice to see what you guys come up with if ya choose this car. Lots of owners are wanting to build them up but just no choices atm
I’ll have to do some more research on them I reckon
@@DASHOffRoad That’s why I didn’t buy Defender because not enough stuff to get for them. Y62 is only reason I bought but my heart is on Defenders 😊
Too many LR haters in Aus
who'll swamp you with diatribe about unreliability, cost etc. Pity, but hating LRs has become a RUclips business nowadays.
You could look at the new VW Amarok (that would include the ranger as well).
Maybe look at the jeep, hard to get parts here in Australia, and a designer and Suplier based in OZ would kill it when it comes to aftermarket parts.
I had to order everything for my jeep either from EU or US, and that’s just to do a 2” lift.
Let alone bar work and bolt on gear, plus they have a good towing ability and with the (well my model) quadra drive 2 it’s basically twin locked from factory.
And I am getting 300+HP and well over 600Nm with a simple tune and some intake mods.
Very cult cars, without aftermarket support here in Australia 🤔
Sounds like a Grand Cherokee diesel, I had a 2018 Trailhawk GC the best car I ever owned., the quadra 2 drive left everything bogged and I sailed through.
@@AlanBarryGriffinProperty how good is it, I am 2” lifted running 33’s and walk things bigger more modified vehicles get stuck on…
Once that quadra drive 2 kicks in you are twin locked….💪🏼
Jeep Gladiator for the win.
It's a hard one to pin point. As you are currently trying to figure out. It's not out yet in Australia, but I think the Toyota Tundra would be a good place to start. Its a ute to add to the collection of that style of market. You'll gain the Toyota cult like appeal and hopefully the type of market that lends itself to a bit more $$$ for accessories, fitting etc.
Yeah, that could work 👌
Mate watching Murts flogging his TRX I think u need to review one an see what ur thoughts are on them.
Tank 500 would be a gret one but only in the v6 twin turbo, or the shanhai cannon (alpha) which is the ute variant of the tank 500
I'm very keen on both these cars, both only in the V6 versions, which we may not get here. Not sure if it'll be a cult car but the Lexus GX 550 that's due out. Has the V6tt petrol, detuned from the LX600, the engine that should be in the 300 series here.
The Ranger Raptor would be great also. When you start, if @dashoffroad would want to sell your Patrol I'd be happy to take it off you save me doing all the work for our trips 😄
What about the incoming tundra and f150 or ram even triton as a budget option . Or wait for the new Navara
If you must do something other than a Nissan Y62 - hands down you alone have made them what they are today, make it a budget vehicle not another premium one. Would it be worth looking at a Mahindra , something no one else is doing.
Wait for the Y63. Keep doing what you do well. Don’t spread yourself too thin.
F150? They seem like they may go alright in today market.
I tend to agree
Patrol all the way. I had a series 3 modified for a few years, then went Raptor, then Ram 1500 Limited. Now back to 23 Patrol TIL. US build quality is terrible, Raptor was underwhelming. Bought both so I wouldn’t have to spend too much on extras. Dont know anyone with a Tank or even talk about it. Just my 2 cents. Cybertruck, there’s a thought..
Cyber truck, that could be interesting 👌
I think wait for the Y63. Continue development of what you have. Watch back your own video as to me it sounded like that’s the best option when you listen to it.
Chev have to sort out their lifter issues .
The new BYD ute that’s coming.
Lots of votes here for the Grenadier. I wouldn't mind that, although Dave has poo pooed that in the comments, I see.
Definitely not the Ranger, or Rangerok. That's too mainstream for you guys, and your history.
Why does it need to be a 4WD? Why not something different? A coupe of some description.
Find a whole new market to bulletproof the business in case the 4WD/caravan combo slows.
I found my feet barely fitted in the footwell of the Grenadier 🤷♂️

@@DASHOffRoad issue raised by many. My mate in Adelaide has had his for a few months now, hasn't winged about it once.
Before you know it the Y63 will be out and we will be looking to throw some fruit on that, or make the Samurai a Dash production vehicle.
mate u need to focus on 2 different 4wd a towing / tourer and a 4wd wagon not really for towing Family orianted .. not 1 or 2 blokes bashing around ...
If there was a focus on touring with towing that could be a solid market.
I love the Y62 patrol but the IRS is just it’s let down for towing and touring, yes it can be made to work but it’s always a compromise.
Landrover Defender!
2025 GWM Cannon & Shannai!
A Ford Expedition Timber. Would be brutal exciting and unprecedented to see one of those gigantic beasts done. And off course the ideal by a long eay is the Y63 but that should be your 2025 project IMO. Thanks for the videos.
Silverado gets shocking reviews
I think the f150 would be a good start and its availability at at ford dealers nationally will make it a good seller.
The ldv T60 and new triton could also be a good one to corner aswell
I’ll be watching the F150’s when Ford bring them in
As a wild card do the Kia ev9
Mahindra Scorpio price can’t be beat
Y63 mate with the v6 turbo it will need all the fruit to be able to get it to be a reliable towing vehicle.
Nissan will not spend the dollars to get this vehicle up to its real potential off the bat. We have seen this over and over again.
I'm a nissan fanatic owning every nissan series 4wd in my life time up to the current y62 S1 TIL.
I believe the nissan company are way behind the ball and they don't seem to think outside the box so my money would be on the Y63 as your next project vehicle.
Just my two cents my friend keep up the good work with the aftermarket item which ever vehicle you choose I'm sure you will nail it as usual👍
Ineos grenadier
I think that car will be a flash in the pan personally
Maybe think outside the box… off-road bikes. Dakar dash
I don’t trust myself on 2 wheels 🫨
Develop Ford Ranger and huge market for your improvements and accessories
Where is the drawer to match your y62 fridge drawer setup?
Work in progress
Do a big turbo setup for a raptor as a short-term project, same as dynautomotive - 400rwkw, then jump to the y63
That could work
@DASHOffRoad considering doing it myself for a change in career! Adelaide finance is a hard slog haha
Take a chance on ranger Sport Yes it Is a diesel
Diesel 🤢
Hold out for the Kia Tasman.
Lexus Gx 550 Overtrail
ruclips.net/video/lsIwH1qN2Gc/видео.html
Why don’t you try another 3.5 tonne towing listed unit ie ssang Yong with no gcm
I hate to say it but the gwm cannon, for what you get for the price a lot of people will buy. Can’t do a raptor it’s a lifestyle truck
Y63. TJM & ARB drag it out and other after markets are ….
Stay Loyal to Japan made cos other country made Nissans are iffy. Sure you will ignore us all lol.
Cherokee Trailhawk lol.
Will the clicky group still talk to you if you do stuff with other cars
I run my own race mate 💨👌
VW turbo petrol Ranger sister.
LDV D90
I got one, is a good car
Raptor
300 series Land Cruiser
Mahindra pickup
What about the RAM?
Nah
American Ram and Silverado sales will drop with Tundra and F150 arrival. Way better than Ram and Silverado. Dealer back up so much better.
The Tundra has plenty of reliability issues in the states. Then again Toyota has plenty of reliability issues here as well.
Talk toyota in to letting you play with their tundra and modify the fcuk out of it.
Stay away from jeep. . . . Too many issues. . . . . Its a hard one to answer and I hope you develop the new patrol.. . . .
Why ? 110 000 km in our Cherokee ZERO issues.
Don't you need to finish the V8 Navara first? Still waiting
Only aesthetics left to do
F150
Petrol Amarok?
Do they make a petrol?
@@DASHOffRoad sure do. This would have been my suggestion as well.
Yeah 2.3 Ford Ecoboost 222Kw 450nm@@DASHOffRoad
How about the new Mitsubishi Triton, something different, not he same stuff as everyone else
But it’s diesel 🤢
New lexus gx
I’ll have to check it out
Toyota!
Ram 1500?
Nah
Ram
Tank sales will tank 😫 👎
Ssangyong Musso
No
@@DASHOffRoad 🤣
