A nice clean car and already setup with the important things. Probably has been towing so a trans service would be good. You probably know about the oil service has to be done within 10 minutes to keep the oil pump primed.

Hi Zoe, Yeah I've read up on that but I won't be touching anything mechanically unless I have to, pref let the Pros tinker with the important stuff 😁

I think Anita will be very pleased with her decision, the Paj will not let her down, spare parts aplenty..any mechanic worth their experience on the tools will be able to fix it. The Ranger on the other can be..let us just say..frustrating..would be putting it kindly, good luck and it would be good to compare the ownership experience you will have between the Pajero and the Ranger...my money is with Anita.

Yeah mate, seeing the difference I agree will be interesting for sure and all part of the fun.

Hey Deezel, look into a fascia replacement and put the uhf behind the glove box. A RJ-45 pass through for the handset. That's how I wired up my FX4. Cheers 🍻

Hi Luke, yeah the connections options to move is there but bloody hell it's a terrible spot the way I sit.
Guess everyone likes different things but really don't want to leave the hand piece holes either 🤔

Hey mate love the show . We also have the same camper . I build transmissions for a living , 1 thing you definitely need and is almost a must for that auto is a transmission cooler .
The transmission are awesome , unfortunately the transmission coolers are a big let down .
I’m very confident in telling you especially Towing’s the camper that the trans cooler upgrade is a MUST for that transmission.

Really appreciate the shout on that one, is there a specific recommendation?
Feel free to dm on socials or messenger if that's easier.
Likely will be doing a trip across the Nullarbor in a couple of months and was considering leaving the ranger behind while I get her ready for longer travel. 🍺

Congrats on the new Ranger… I’ve had the 3.2, the BiTurbo and now the new V6 and have towed with all three.
Ranger FB groups are littered with ill informed toss bags who will tell the 3.2 engines are renowned for blowing up… If we just deal in facts and common sense the 3.2 engine is a low stressed and very robust engine whereas the BiTurbo which actually tows better, is working a whole lot harder when towing. What causes many or even most of the 3.2 engine failures you hear about is more often a failure of the EGR cooler.
Secondly, the transmissions (ZF) are bullet proof… and used in many super high performance vehicles.
Longevity is simply down to maintenance.
    My suggestion…
    - Replace your EGR cooler now and then every 80-100,000kms
    - Have the transmission serviced if there is no evidence in the records of a recent service (The sealed for life theory is crap)
Have a look at the link below explaining about the EGR… and there’s no reason why a 3.2 engine won’t do over 300,000kms

Hi, we've got the xlt version and been towing a 2.5T Van for 2 yrs and done 50k so far. Not a problem, touch wood. But I tow in 'S' mode so the trans doesn't heat up..Great car, smooth, quiet and great on fuel, 15.5lt/100k.

    • @gettingaroundaus
      @gettingaroundaus  5 месяцев назад +1

That's good to hear. Towing in S I haven't tried yet, 15.5l per 100 is pretty good in my books. Our Pajero about that. Appreciate the tip and will try it out 🍺
Thanks for dropping a line 👍
