Apart from Jarod I’d sell any of them in a heartbeat. Get proper money and invest in hungry young talent for Julen to coach. As you said before Stel he got 16/17 new players in when at Seville and he did pretty well there. As for Alvarez in particular there’s something about the way he carries himself around the pitch the way his hands hang makes me doubt him (probably irrational but my gut says not a hammer) ⚒️

Stel, Might have settled the Alvarez issue, just watched Mexico vs Jamaica in the Copa, Alvarez went off after 30 minutes with what looked like a bad hamstring injury, went off in tears so I suspect he thinks his tournaments over, if it's as bad as it looked that could be 3 months out.

We have heard so much about who we were interested in signing that it was inevitable that the rumours would move to who wants our players.
I don't want to lose any of our top players, even Paqman. But as you said, money talks; to a lot of people anyway. Honestly, I'd price Bowen, Emerson, Alverez, Kudus, out of the market.

I agree with the idea of selling on from a business point of view. I wonder what message it sends to the team and what effect it has in having to settle more and more new players into a new system.
I suppose there are cleverer people than me making the decisions so I will have to trust in Tim and Lopetegui to do what they do.

I guess with some players who believed they’re destined for the very top … do we get at least a couple of seasons out of them at West Ham then be prepared to sell them? I guess this is why the likes of Paqueta and kudus have the release clauses in their contracts
But you’re right it makes it look like we’re a selling club which can in itself create instability to build for the future
Stel. I just don't get that 40m figure. Without Paqueta there's the TV money, sponsorship, shop sales, gate money, money we had put aside for a striker plus, Europa money. Also money due for January loans /sales. Plus they'll be money for any player sales this, summer. The maths don't add up. About this window, should we consider selling key players from a depleted squad. Maybe it's five out, one in policy now lol. We've not actually signed one player yet. We can buy domestic players, so what the hell is the delay. The talk of outgoings and saying we're skint worries me in this situation.

I think when you look at our targets, the Brighton model starts next year.
We get the replacements in this season, so we can sell the stars next season. We need to always be that one step ahead, we don’t want to sell then look for replacements, we always want them already at the club.
While the Brighton model has merits and seems to ensure financial security it’s not what football is about for me, I want to win things. Brighton is a great example of a well run club but they haven’t won anything with that model. I’m a fan not an investor, I want to brag about our trophies, not our bank account.
There is that side of it too.. I agree… the Brighton model might be good for business but is it good for continuity and improving?
This is the Moyes legacy, he bought old over priced players and now once again we must try to pick up the pieces and make do and mend..

We can employ the Brighton system of buying and selling players but at the moment we are not grounded yet . so unless Sullivan is so greedy that he wants the profits befor we are a stable club. The we are in trouble. ⚒

Alvarez can't command the midfield all on his own. He was by far our best midfielder last season, but even when he did play, the opposition had no problems simply walking straight through us and onto goal.
It wouldn't be the end of the world if we sold Alvarez for a huge amount of money this summer as we already need at least 2 more CDM's.
I’m guessing that any player who we might get more than double our money for could be sold
I think we certainly need a back up defensive midfielder but Lopetegui is meant to play with a three in midfield / holding, box to box and attacking

Neither are very good at the defending part, so it looks like we will have to spend some money on the midfield on top of everything else

The problem for West Ham is in that the normal starting XI last season there were only 5 players that were excellent. They were the envy of other teams. Sell any of those 5 and we would have one hell of a job replacing them, and we would have no continuity to take into next season. The club need to build around those 5 or they might as well throw in the towel.
Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal think that they only have to snap their fingers and they can unsettle and snap up any player they like. Arsenal tapped up Declan Rice while he was still a West Ham player. The club must stand firm or we will never achieve that 'next level' we were promised.
Much how I feel mate - but if a big enough bid came in where we could buy two players for the price of one, then that offer might just be worth considering
West Ham’s budget is around 80m plus sales. With European football around 100m. As previous seasons have proved. You don’t need to be Carol voderman.

If a Saudi club did take a gamble on Paqueta I honestly couldn't see them gambling 85m, might be a cheeky offer of 30 - 40m but couldn't see them going higher.

Stel - Excellent content as normal, Killman not even an international player, he has good stats compared to our CB’s but he’s not worth 40 million, thou J- Lo wants him🤔 Tim is in charge of transfers so he gets given players for him to coach, we don’t want another Moyes situation stamping his feet.

I think Lopetegui and Steidten are much more in tandem and I dare say they would have agreed a list of targets in advance for Steidten to try and get
For all we know maybe both men agreed on Kilman but will have a value in mind that they will not go above
If we don’t get him for the price we want to pay then we’ll move on to another target
For me it's totally up to JLo to sell anyone he does not think will do the job in his system. Just don't sell anyone on the cheap. Also get rid of players that will not play even if we lose money we also get salary bill down. I really would like Žan Karničnik playing for us. Really like the buy half for the future and others for now approach.

I've had too many years of us trying to hang on to 'star' players. It never ends well. With the exception of Bowen, I think any of our squad are replaceable if we get full market value for them.

I am probably an outlier on this subject but my feeling is that our entire budget for this summer is 60 million max, which is nothing, what two quality players? I believe we were totally dependent on Paqueta and other sales. Is that bad financial management by our board, or good? I don't know. But I do know something, like a black cat crossing the road, and going somewhere, there is a serious amount of money being made, and it's going somewhere!

A very good important video, Stel. The misinformation just keeps heating up. If we were to hypothetically lose ALL of these core players, we will be in big trouble league-wise/performance-wise. I don’t think they will leave, but I must admit that I find the idea of Alvarez and possibly Kudus going to Man U somewhat interesting & unsurprising because they both used to be managed by Ten Hag at Ajax couple seasons ago ……….🤨……….
Ironically ten hag didn’t have a great relationship with kudus so I doubt he’d go to Man Utd
But Alvarez? Well if they offer £60m or above then it’s worth considering

Not sure if I'd see Guilherme as a replacement for Bowen. But Bowen's position was going to alter anyway with the way J Lo likes to use his full/wing backs. I would prefer to keep Emerson rather than Bowen as being from Brazil he can help acclimatise players from there. I would only sell Emerson if we got 16 - 18 Million (in that case we could not turn it down). If Ben Johnson signs, do we need two Central Defenders? Altered is going to drop in there anyway and Johnson not quick enough for J Lo fullback. I still haven't given up hope that once he returns to pre-season Loppy may convince Aguerd to stay.
