  • Helicopter Landing at Sydney Airport in the Bell B206L Longranger for the FIRST TIME
    One of my bucket list flying goals has always been to fly into Sydney Airport in a helicopter. Well finally that day came!
    I was tasked to pick up some guests from Sydney and fly them south to Wollongong so it was time for another one of my goals to be crossed off.
    Everyone has a "first time" so this was mine and I wanted to share it. Mainly because I want to share my experience with anyone who may also be apprehensive in coming into Mascot for the very first time.
    Enjoy the scenery and the views as I fly from Lake Macquarie airport to Sydney airport and back!

    I am enjoying you videos, keep them coming. I’m studying for my commercial helicopter licence at the moment here in Melbourne and I find your videos very informative. Thanks.

      Thanks I’m hoping to sit my final flight test in the next couple of months. Who knows what will happen after that.

    Sydney Airport is such a beautiful approach from the north, especially flying over the CBD, but fascinating seeing a route following the coastal cliffs then over the port at Botany Bay.

    enjoyed the video. I was slightly surprised about not having emergency floats for the longranger, being your flying large amount of time over water. Especially the water being 11 degrees.

    • @ADVBrett
      @ADVBrett  2 года назад

      11 degrees?? Who told you that? Mate it's Australia, it's always swimming weather!! Oh and when you're flying solo here, it's classed as a "private" flight and that's how businesses get away not supplying safety gear.

      @@ADVBrett I made the mistake at :05 your sign said "11 degrees C" air temperature.

      @@ADVBrett so, its actually colder than 11 degrees.

    Mate that was awesome, very professional and obvious you had done a lot of planning and prep. I actually thought the departure through 405 traffic was more stressful than the approach into Mascot!

    • @ADVBrett
      @ADVBrett  4 года назад

      David Miles Thanks mate, yes there was a fair bit of prep for that first time in! I don’t envy those who operate out of Mascot on a daily basis!

      I doubt that very much mate. There’s a lot happening behind the scenes but I reckon we’ll be taking on harder restrictions for at least the next 6 to 8 months. There’s no cure in sight and the virus 🦠 differs in each country. Get prepared for the long haul!

    When you were departing via barracks 5 and got freq change approval, you said, "received SKU", is that sufficient or did you have to read back between there and SCG?

  • @contactme4540
    @contactme4540 4 года назад

    at 20:17 the controller gave you 123.000 for departures and you read back 132.000. A bit confusing.
