    Thanks for this very technical explanation. You made it so ABC and simple. Can I clean my turbo safely by by spraying turbo cleaner into my turbo system? I have a similar engine as yours and I am wary of inducing any engine codes. Thanks again.

    So where did you get a new turbo manifold from since the stock turbo and manifold are 1 piece? Also are you planning on upgrading to the forged pistons since the stock internals aren’t rated for much boost increase?

    • @TheFlexxGarage

      No clue. On my c250 when I did have an oil leak near the turbo, it was a fail oil feed/return line. Replaced it and no more leak. This was a common known issue.

    When you had the throttle body exposed was there any carbon build-up in there ? I get slightly rough idle sometimes and thinking there may be a little carbon build-up in the throttle body housing outside the perimeter of that movable flap. This happened on my truck which cleaning resolved so wondering if the M271 turbo builds carbon in a similar way ?

    Is there a regular service that needs to be done for the turbo in this engine? My wife has a 2012 C250 Sedan with about 120K miles with no issues.

    • @TheFlexxGarage
      @TheFlexxGarage  8 месяцев назад +1

      No there isn’t. (To my knowledge)
      Just make sure your oil to the car is changed regularly and don’t let it breakdown too far.
      Also, the gasket to the metal oil feed line to the turbo usually fails and starts slowly leaking oil. It’s a pretty straight forward replacement.

    Hey flexx love the vids man!!! Im a new Benz owner, got a 2012 C250 sedan, and im coming from a 2009 Jetta Wolfsburg Edition 2.0T....when i would accelerate on my Wolfie, i could hear the turbo clearly, and it was music to my ears! However even with my windows down, i hear no turbo "whistle" from my Benz....is this normal? Or should i be concerned?

    • @weatherwatchTX

      I have a 2014 C250 Sedan...That's very normal.. In a few of Flexx's videos, he talks about the turbo muffler that MB installed in our cars. Our cars are designed to be efficient and quiet. If you haven't already, I suggest ripping through a ton of his DIY mod videos. They are inexpensive, fun to do and really make our cars more fun to drive. Welcome to the MB community!

    Turbocharger is always located directly after the exhaust manifold. That is the rule if the car is stock. There are no exceptions whatsoever.

    • @TheFlexxGarage
      @TheFlexxGarage  8 месяцев назад

      Not 100% true. A portion of the turbo is attached to the manifold but it’s not all turbo after the manifold. The exhaust manifold exhaust spins a shaft that leads to the turbo and spins the turbo. So you can say the shaft that spins is after the manifold but not really the entire turbo.
      The airflow starts in the air intake and then into turbo, then it’s becomes charged through the exhaust fumes spinning the shaft that spins the turbo.
