    I just tried this and I cried!! They taste just like warm dinner rolls in a bread form!! I've been missing this for 4 years since I was diagnosed with celiac disease!! Real bread again!!! Thank you!!!

      @@bonitaskitchen I will definitely try it!! Pie crust and pizza crust are my other 2 failures since going gluten free. :(

      @@marcan7780 When you make this dough or batter try it for different things and maybe for the pizza crust you will need to bake the crust first for 15 to 20 minutes before adding the ingredients.     I have been searching for a gluten free bread and the hundreds I have seen I believe this is best and I have the greatest of confidence of making this for myself and family and friends. Thanks for being simple and explain so perfectly step by step.

    Hi Bonita I made this bread today,I have been craving bread for quite awhile since I discovered that I’m gluten intolerant & also being vegan you cannot purchase vegan gluten free bread in Australia as far as I know, well it was so tasty soft in the middle & crusty on the outside I couldn’t believe how good it would be it was absolutely delicious thank you so much for sharing this it is very much appreciated

    Looks like a great GF bread recipe. I'll have to try this one, Bonita! Woke up at 4:30 this morning, turned TV on and went directly to your channel and this one came up. Love your channel. Just reminds me so much from home. And you ate the other fried bread with Molasses!! I love that! Grew up eating Molasses and fresh homemade bread. Poured the Molasses in a bowl and soaked it up with bread....ha! My husband always thinks that's funny! You bring a smile to my face! Really! Thank you! ❤

      Haha that is so wonderful Barbara, yes I did eat the slice of bread with molasses is so tasty. Our youngest son would put the molasses on first and then his butter on the hot bread.     I'm so glad I found you. I just love your recipes and your style. There's nothing like good, old fashioned solid advice for the best dishes. I love to cook, but I've been struggling with gluten free bread for years--it always seems done on the outside but is almost raw on the inside. Thank you so much for putting this recipe up.       Jess F Welcome and thank you for finding us and leaving a message, this is a lovely bread and it's nice to make it yourself. We have a GF hard bread for fish and Brewis coming our just before Christmas and it's so easy to make. Here in Newfoundland and Labrador we have fish and Brewis for Christmas Eve and I always feel bad when my sister in law can't have any because the hard bread is regular, so this Christmas she will get to have the same but GF hard bread.       Could you please tell me what a cup of milk is in metric. Also a cup of flour. We don’t use the cup measurement in Ireland, my mixture was much more liquid than yours looked like,!

    Great recipe. And the bread looks so beautiful. One question, if I do the bread with flours, how can I ger the brown color? Because allá the bread that I make gets out white.

      Hi Margarita, Thank you for your message and for stopping by, this is indeed a lovely bread and very tasty. Browning of the top of your bread you can do one of two things......1. After you put the dough in your pan, rub some butter or margarine over the top of the dough. 2. You can turn the heat up in the over the last 5 minutes to help brown the top of your bread.     I am exited to try it.
    I see that you have listed the ingredients of the "flour mix" in your description. Would you please add the amounts/measurements used for each ingredient that make up your "flour mix"? I would like to make this flour mix & not buy a ready made one. It's too expensive here in South Africa to buy the mix.

    Can you do it w/ out the xan gum for sensitive guys ?Looks great)? Has anyone subbed the milk and butter w anything else ?

      Hi Sarah, Thank you for your message and for stopping by, if you can find a all-purpose gluten free flour you may be able to leave out the xan gum. This is a flour agent that helps make that elastic texture in the flour. I hope this helps and enjoy to the fullest. :) Bonita

    Thank you so much for doing this Bonita! I’m not celiac but I’m very gluten sensitive. It’s so hard to find gluten free bread that is a decent price and tastes good. I’m trying this for sure!! Thank you so much!!!! Can you use an egg instead of egg replacer?

      Hi Shona: You are very welcome and I'm glad to help, yes you can use egg. I only showed the other way because of people that can't have egg only the egg replacer. My sister in law is celiac and I gave her all my bread from the show and she was over the moon. I also made some fried bread called toutons, here in Newfoundland and Labrador that went over will with her as well. This recipe only makes one loaf or two small ones but I'm thinking thats all you will need for a week. Enjoy Bonita

    Thank you so much for sharing your recipes! Because I am allergic to rice, I was stoked when I saw you using the same flour I use, and I have all the ingredients!
    I do have a couple questions. When I make Bob's Red Mill "Wonderful Bread", it says to mix all ingredient together at the same time, let rise once, then place in oven.
    I know you are not making that bread, but is it possible to use your recipe like the mix, and just rise it one time and stick it in the oven?
    Secondly, can your recipe be like the "Wonderful bread" and mix all ingredients together at the same time? If I don't do all the steps that you use, will it fail in some way?
    Thank you again! I'm looking forward to making this today and checking out all your other recipes!

    Hi Bonita - Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful recipes. I have a couple of questions just to be clear before baking this yummy GF bread. First is, I'm going to use Bob's Red Mill 1:1 gluten free flour, and it has Zantham Gum already in it, do I still have to add the 2 tsp. Zantham Gum per your recipe? Second, do you sell your flour blend and where can we purchase this flour blend? Please advise. Thank you in advance for your response :) Raquel in LA CA

Question one, if it got xanthan gum already in the flour you can leave it our of your recipe. The flour I'm using you can purchase at a Wal-Mart, I also got it in our local grocery store Powell and Dominon store. Enjoy and thank you once again. :) Bonita

    Hi Bonita , I have ibs and cannot eat yeast , what can I replace it with ? I live in Africa and unfortunately don't get the ready mix flour .

      Hi and thank you for your message and for stopping by, I'm so sorry you can't have yeast in your bread. I only have the yeast breads but if you are able to make sour dough and ferment your own flour to a natural yeast would be lovely.     Hi bonita,when you say 3 cups of flour would that be 16 ounces,recipe needs to be precise,just asking?

      I haven't measured it in ounces but between 16 and 18 ounces should equal to my measuring cup....this is a lovely bread recipe and if it seems to much add extra water to bring it together. Thank you and Enjoy Bonita

I have a copy of the message posted to google stating: "Xanthan Gum is used in the gluten-free baking process to bind, thicken and blend gluten-free ingredients together. Duinkerken's Xanthan Gum is produced in a dedicated gluten, wheat, egg, dairy nut, and soy free facility. Duinkerken's Xanthan Gum is a must for every allergen-free kitchen!"     Gonna make this one on the weekend! I've been gluten free for many years and it's difficult when it comes to down home cooking. I'm hoping to find a recipe for gluten free hard tack. I've written to Purity and asked them to make some gluten free products. Hopefully they'll listen.

      Hi Donna, thank you for your message and yes you can use psyllium husk in place of xanthan gum, so 1 part xanthan gum to 2 part psyllium husk. I have never used it but the info I can find said it works the same but you need more for it to work. I hope this helps, enjoy.... :) Bonita

If you are not able to found the Xanthan Gum you can use a replacement call Psyillum husk, When baking, substitute every 1 part of xanthan gum with 2 parts of psyllium husk. Enjoy and stay safe.     Hi Bonita, I love your videos. I have two questions. Can I use regular yeast? I don't have rapid yeast. Also, if I use all of the dough for a loaf of bread would it be ok in a 9 by 5 loaf pan? Thank you so much

I been learning how to make bread from you and it's been a blessing this months. Sometimes I'd hard to find bread do I been baking for my children and gradbabies. I make food and baked good and take them to them. I leave it on their porch and they come out and get them. My grandbabies don't understand why I don't hugg them it brakes my heart. Please God this will change soon and life will start to go back to a new normal. The 9 x 5 is the average size my pans a old and smaller, but you can get different sizes of pans. Take care....Bonita

      Hi Delia, thank you for your message and for stopping by, this is a different type of dough its not firm enough to form into balls but you can try, or maybe use a muffin pan and put a few chucks of dough in that and only bake it for 20 to 25 minutes, but check.       Hi Karima, Sometimes you can buy a all-purpose gluten free flour and this would be wonderful to use for this recipe or any of your baking recipes, check with your grocery store and see if they carry it. I hope this helps and leaving out the zanthan gum makes the elastic in the dough and its very important. :) Bonita

      Hi Stacey, thank you for stopping by and for your question? Yes you can use a milk replacer, use the type of milk you have in your home or a powdered milk and add water to the powder equal to the amount of our recipe. So if you use a dry, add 1 or 2 tbsp to the amount of milk in the recipe, mix together and add to make the dough. I hope this helps and enjoy...:) Bonita

      Hi and thank you for your message, some gluten free flour already got the Xanthan gum already into the flour. Use cornstarch, egg whites, ground flax seed in water, but before you do that check to see if the flour already goy it. :) Bonita

      @@maryweir3156 The only ingredients that is in the all-purpose gluten free flour I used was, ground gluten free grain, and bean flours. So it don't have baking powder or bicarbonate in there. So see what type of flour you are using and if you wish to add another type with it, I'm sure it would taste lovely with the other ingredients I have listed in our recipe. It would be something you will have to try yourself and hope it is not to proofed and it bakes without deflating in the heat. Let me know if you wish to try it. :) Bonita

      @@1upma You can freeze the bread only, I'm not sure if the dough will be any good after its frozen because I have never done that. But if you wish you can try it and when you are ready to use it take it out the night before and let it thaw in the pan overnight and bake in the morning. Bonita

      1- 1/4 tsp, Sea salt or more
      1/2 cup, Warm water for yeast
      1/2 cup, Warm milk of choice
      4 tbsp, Melted butter or margarine
      3 large, Eggs or egg replacer ( see package for instructions )
